Windows 7 start flashing screen

I have a dell desktop running Windows 7. Works well until 2 days ago. He did an automatic update and seemed to close not so I manually stopped it now button / stop. When turned on, she would get the Windows 7 boot screen and then just started to blink. It's the front screen it allows me to put my password in. Manually restarted and even arrived. Started in safe mode and ran some tests but nothing came. I had no restore point for some reason any that has been disabled. I could take and use the computer, but the next day it did the same thing and once again had to start from the last known configuration work eventually went at the beginning of the last working configuration and that worked. So I know this isn't my graphics card there related software. I have left computer and done a restore point when he started to work. I really don't want to reinstall it. Too many files and others even if I have a back up. Daughter also has many works of art that she drew on Tablet on it. It can be the cause of this problem. If the missing files can I just put these files.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Do you remember the number of the update?

{For the KB updates of failure numbers, follow the underlying steps: }

  1. Open Windows Update by clicking on the Start button. In the search box, type Updateand then in the list of results, click Windows Update.
  2. In the left pane, click view update history. Check the recent update installed.}

I understand that you are getting flashing start bluescreen issues in your Windows 7 system. This scenario has started happening after installing the recent update of KB3097877.

In order to diagnose and resolve the issue, I suggest you try the steps posted by Ravinath P replied on 13 November 2015 in the following thread and check if the steps help you to solve the problem.

  • Monitor goes blank after windows XP starts.

After my computer Windows XP starts, the screen turns white.  I can see typical splash screens and the windows icon, that my home screen.  But shortly after so that files are always load, the monitor is going gray.  It is still 'active' designated by the green light, but after a few minutes Hibernate mode.

I use a laptop docking station Targus USB Video to allow us to pass the mouse and keyboard between our PC and laptop.  In fact, we use 2-monitor cables with this, one where the monitor is wired directly on the PC and the other of the docking station to monitor.  According to the computer on which is being used, connect the right on the screen cable.  The monitor works fine with the phone.  I wouldn't believe the origin our problem since this only started happening in the last few days.

I also changed the cable to the PC monitor without change.

The PC had a virus or some type of software problem?

    Can anyone help?

You have posted to a group of win7?

Connect the monitor directly to the PC to test (without docking station or any what vid/switches) & maybe update the graphics drivers on the website of the manufacturer NOT winupdate

I would like to point out something that you may not realize: Windows 8
has two interfaces; the modern/Metro Interface (which may be all the)
you have looked at) and the traditional desktop Interface. You can use
one or both. This traditional desktop Interface is almost
identical to the interface of Windows 7. the biggest difference is that
There is no Orb start clicking to bring up the start menu.

But note that you can get the ORB start by using one of the many
third-party programs, are free or very cheap (the classic interface
    http://classicshell.sourceforge.NET/ and debut8 to
    http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/; my personal preference is
Debut8, but they are both very good).  And goes from an interface to
the other is very easy; There are several ways, but simply by pressing
the Windows key is perhaps the easiest.

Just install one of these two and using the traditional desktop computer
interface may be a better choice for you than going to Windows 7.
I use Windows 8, almost exclusively with traditional workstations
the interface and with 8 Start installed. If you were to look at and use
my computer, you may have a hard time realizing that it is not
    Windows 7.
I also recommend to read "how to make Windows 8 or 8.1 watch and.
    Want Windows 7 "to http://www.howtogeek.com/elk/298/45121/4206
I can't address the issue with your games, except to say that
whenever you move to a new version of the operating system, some of
which is used to run on the former does not work on the new. And it's
much more likely with utilities and games with companies
    applications.

This error indicates hard drive has failed. You can replace it with a portable HDD SATA of detail. Just be sure to get the replacement which is at least as large a capacity that the original if you plan to use recovery disks to reinstall Windows. New hard drive may be more capacity but may not be less.

  • Windows 8 starts with black screen on startup.

Original title: BOOT WIN 8 on TOSHIBA SATELLITE

Hi - I've updated to Win 8 on my Toshiba Satellite laptop.  Now, when I start the laptop, it shows the initial screen of Windows but will not perform the process to the lock screen or splash screen.  The screen is black and goes no further.  I have to press the off button and hopefully get to go in standby mode (i.e. when the power led is flashing).  So, I press the button to wake that then displays the lock screen.

Someone has ideas on what setting could be the cause.  I have looked in the trunk of the BIOS but can't find anything.  Also can't find anything obvious in settings PC Win

    Thank you

    Hi Richard,

I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

    1. You have installed the latest drivers for Windows 8?
    2. What is the model number for Toshiba Satellite laptop?

If you get a black screen after upgrade to Windows 8, it might be due to an outdated or incompatible graphics card driver. Update to the latest version of the display driver should fix this.

Try to remove all external devices connected to the computer and then try to start the computer and check if it works. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: To resolve this problem, update the site Web of Toshiba video card driver.

Check out these Microsoft items for additional reference:

    Download and install the drivers

Get the best display on your monitor

Method 2: I suggest to follow the suggestions provided in this Microsoft KB article and check if this can help:

Windows 8 starts with a blank screen after a standard or hibernation

  • Tecra S1: Screen starts flashing and is now black

Hello. I have a Toshiba Tecra S1. Its 4 years.

Last night my screen suddenly started flashing and my computer froze. I had to reboot my computer and then the screen starts sometimes, but mostly it stays black. If splash screens, I have only gently shake the computer until the screen flashes again and the computer crashes.

Could you please tell my computer can be repaired or should I think about buying a new computer.
