  • Remote access PIX - two groups

    Hi all

Please is it possible to distinguish two groups of remote access on the radius server?

For example, I have two groups. One for employees and secondly to externalist.

I authentificate the server a radius.

It is possible to distinguish between these two groups on the radius server?

    How can I do this?

Because when I create two groups of tunnel and two political groups, I am still able to access the two groups with the users in the Group employee or externalist. And when I look for log on to the IAS server, I couldn't distinguish between the journal entry when I login as employee and when I log in as externalist :(

    Thanks in advance

    Tomas

    Tomas,

OK, so we have 2 groups of tunnel and 2 group policies for groups of tunnel, here's what you have to do.

    * First, we close group policy to groups of tunnel so that a single policy would not use the other tunnel-group. To achieve this, some examples of CLI commands

    attributes global-tunnel-group test1

    strategy-group-by default peche1

    tunnel-group test2 General attributes

    strategy-group-by default granted.2

attributes of the peche1 group policy

    group-lock value test1

    policy2 group policy attributes

    group-lock value test2

    * Now lets do the config on IAS. You should have 2 remote access policies separate created for your groups of 2 different windows in IAS, for example

    Remote access policy x

If the Windows group matches "yourdomain\externalist".

    Grant access

    Remote access policy is

If the Windows group matches "yourdomain\employees".

    Grant access

Now in the remote x access policy, click on edit profile > click on advanced > click Add. Choose the attribute "Class". This policy is for externalists and lets say we want to lock windows to the tunnel test1 group group. Then enter UO = Policy1 value in the attribute Class. It is the name of group policy that we have locked in tunnel-group test1

Follow the same path and get into UO = policy2 for remote access policy there, employees windows group.

  • SBS 2008 compatibility with OS windows XP/7

If the server at my workplace computer is running windows SBS 2008, and we have 2 clients running Windows XP Professional, I can configure three new customers with Windows 7. I'm not sure that the it guy who has implemented the network upward originally stated that any installation of computers in the network must run XP and could not be equipped with Windows 7. This system was the installation in July last year, and I am not interested in the purchase of new operating systems for existing customers of 2 and am not able to source XP for 3 additional guests I want to Setup. There will be compatibility problems with the configuration of computers with different OS, and they are all still will have the same functionality with respect to the initial configuration (IE still using the http://connect) and remote access

Your problem would be probably better suited to the Microsoft Technet forums, located at the:

  • Windows SBS 2008 - user is unable to RDP in even through that it's in the appropriate groups

    Hi guys,.

Problem: A user has been accidentally deleted from a Windows SBS 2008 server running Active Directory and we have been unable to grant him the rights of RDP - the error message indicates that the account must be granted "logon through Terminal Services right.

The installer: A single Windows SBS 2008 server running hyper-VM with a unique virtual machine on it which manages the TS licenses

    Tried to bugs/more information:

Things that we tried to do to solve the problem (all done via Active Directory users and computers)

    • He added to the administrators and remote desktop users groups
    • He added to the users group to the remote desktop on the virtual machine (the account can now connect to the virtual machine at least)
    • Cloned an existing account on the primary server
    • Removed and added the account through the SBS console and added to the admin and RDP groups (on the dedicated server and virtual machine)

None of them seems to have solved the problem. There are currently 2 free licenses of TS, so I don't think it's a licensing issue.

It's almost as if there is a top group policy setting or similar which replaces the user groups is added to, but I don't know where to look for here.

I've already made sure that the user do not have TS access turned off in the settings of the user's

    Any suggestions?

  • Best router for incoming Windows remote access

    Hello
you have a question of a client that is located on an Active Directory Server with a box of Windows Server 2008 running the remote access server. What firewall might recommend that allow connections from the Internet on to the incoming client Windows box?

    See you soon,.
    / Mattias

The FVS336G in a connection between an 'internal' client and server RAS plays no role on the same local network and is not actually involved in out connections - it needs to have pptp passthrough, but that's all.

You may have completely disabled on your 336 port forwarding and you still get the results you report.

First question - the RAS have internet access?
Second question - what do you mean by "inbound NAT?

I have quit using pptp (ipsec spent) earlier but memory everything that is required on the router is to forward port 1723 for the SAR and if you use a dynamic WAN ip address, you must also configure a form any dynamic DNS - DynDNS has worked for me.

For the FVS338 (and probably the 336) - just to add a receptive service and select pptp in unrolling menu, select always allow, and enter the address of the RAS.

  • SBS 2008 STOP: c000021a [fatal system error]

I found myself, it's a pretty irritating position.

My SBS 2008 Server has failed and cause me a lot of pain in the process.

There was a fairly comprehensive backup plan in place, Acronis image (daily), picture Windows system (per day) and Bexec.

The last test DA we have worked well and I was able to restore the acronis on a virtual machine and start.

Now, we actually had an error that none of the backups work! All with the same error inside a virtual machine and a physical hardware code.

    The error is:

    Action taken:

    Catering to VM

Load the SBS support to repair the system (it prompt for the password for the Admin user.) Didn't know that he was SBS with AD, we used a different account.)

Download offline NT password, select Admin and password empty

Load the SBS support to make the system repair, sfc scan & chckdsk

Do some reg settings so it does not restart when it BSOD (still can not managed to do a memory dump well.)

All returned without errors and fine.

A restart of the same mistake.

Tried all F8 options, all with the same error. Even safe mode!

Can anyone suggest me please a few alternatives to get it online so I can connect.

I had to reinstall the server from scratch so that it is up and running but some settings that I need to the virtual machine that I just thought that I would be able to restore from a previous backup.

  • How to configure remote access on my system?

How do iget a friend or remote security access my cpu

    Hi Charles,

First of all, I think that you want them to be able to use Remote Desktop (not really remote access which is a little different) to connect to your computer and then work on your remote on their own computer as if yours was in front of them (with some minor limitations).

To allow your system receive the Remote Desktop connections (not all versions of Windows will - but most allow), see: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-networking/cant-remote-desktop-from-vista-home-premium/f6d87400-58a2-423c-86f3-5650a4e0b153.  This thread shows you how to do it in XP and Vista.  It is roughly the same as Vista to W7.

Then the person who wants to connect to you will need to send you a few items to be installed to work with the program they use for remote desktop.  It is typically logging in a web page and following the instructions you get on the phone (which they need to give you a code, usually) and then they can access.

Be VERY careful who you give it.  They can do almost anything once they are in control of your system.  While you can usually talk to them and usually can see what they are doing, it is possible for them to make downloads fast and such that you really don't want on your computer.  You can cut them with a click, but it is unclear what they can do in the meantime (depending on how they do it and how do I know that you're what happens).  I let my ISP and Dell use desktop remotely with me, but no one else never and only after I called them (and not if they called me) to make sure that I have about the right people and not crooks.  If it's a friend, make sure it's a really good who knows what he or she is doing.  With remote desktop, they can help you solve problems or completely flexible you.  You have allowed their past almost all your security protection when they are connected, so it isn't going to save you.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • HP 15 t: cannot connect laptop Windows 8 to SBS 2008

I just got my new HP 15 t and tried to connect it to the network so that the antivirus software, etc can download.

It's our first Windows 8 machine; our network is different from XP and Windows 7. The server is SBS 2008.

When I run the launcher (after http://connect), I get the following message if poster as soon as I clicked on connect:

"This computer does not meet the conditions required to connect to the network.

Before continuing, you must address the following issues:

Configuration of operating system supported not found

To attach your computer to the Windows Small Business Server network using the program of the computer to connect, you must run the operating system Windows XP with SP2 or later, or the Windows Vista operating system. Not all editions of Windows Vista and Windows XP are supported in the Windows SBS netowkr. Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Professional x 64 and Windows XP Tablet Edition are supported on the Windows SBS network. »

But I have connected to Windows 7 computers to the network. And I was told that Windows 8 should be able to connect. So is this something wrong with the configuration of the client computer, or do I need to tweak SBS 2008 so that it can help in this regard?

    EnduringMike wrote:

Well, I've marked this as resolved, but it turns out that it is not.

Once I've upgraded to pro, I run the connect program and now I get the message that it failed because the PC does not meet the system's maximum operating requirements to run client Setup.

It gives a link to check for more information that goes to a page that does not exist at Microsoft.

How many people they have working there at Microsoft? They reach even the link between their software and their Web site correct?

So. I now have Pro 8.1. And still no connect to SBS 2008. Then guess?

You can follow these instructions to join the PC to your domain: http://www.tomsitpro.com/articles/how-to-join-windows-8.1-to-domain, 2 - 735.html

  • LegeCy medical application requires administrator rights to run on Windows XP but application resides on the SBS 2008 Server

    Hi all

Application is a medical Client / Server using SQL in the database model. and resides on the SBS 2008 with XP Server and client computers.

Rather that to load the client on windows XP, it would not sense to simply run the application console using the Terminal Server services and configure the application to start an hour of connection on. Given that the application requires administrator rights to run, how can I assign admin right only on demand, so when they connect, they can use the application with the given admin rights but do not have access to the rest of the server or control?

Been awhile and a very little bit of rust, but I know it should be easy... losing sleep reading my series of the voume of support docs... :)

  • Can EE hyperic or open source windows file systems mounted remote monitor?

Can EE hyperic or open source windows file systems mounted remote monitor? actions

I have a server windows Hyperic Enterprise Version 3.0.3 and if I click on the dashboard, the Assembly resource file server, I see it as a green ball, local NTFS file systems, but the remote file systems have a gray ball. I see this on the server as well as on the windows client EA servers.
If I try to conifure the disk, he says it is NOT installed or not configured correctly.  Since
client and server hyperic windows run as root, I thought I could have access to the entire disk.
Can monitor hyperic actions or remote windows file systems?  Maybe it's the account that installed the hyperic has a server share file system remote z:\, but my root account
I use to access the EE hyperic server does not work?

When you install the Windows agent as a service, it begins in place and works using the default SYSTEM account. This account has full administrative rights to monitor most of the things on the local computer, but will not be able to connect to remote shares on the network. The account used to install the software has no impact at this stage. In addition, the agent, not by the server permissions, are what effect the possibility of access to the remote network share.

If you want to monitor your network shares using the agent on this box and not on the server that actually hosts the network share, you can change the agent service through the Services Control Panel:

    1. go to start-> Control Panel-> administration-> Services tools

    2. find the "HQ Agent" service and double-click (or right-click and select properties)

    3. on the connection tab, select it "this account:" radio button, and then enter a valid network user account information, as well as his password

    4. click on apply or OK to apply the change takes effect

5 restart the service "Agent HQ"

Keep in mind, no matter what you are using an account must have permissions to gather information of the local area, as well as the permission to connect to the remote network share.
