Windows 7 unexpectedly crashed down and lost various programs

My Windows 7 crashed after I have shut down to install updates. When I went to turn it on later it took forever to load, and then in safe mode to try to resolve some problems she he felt (I don't remember the problems) but he said he don't mess with my files and applications. When I finally got back on my computer my iTunes and Windows Media Player cannot open. The iTunes says I have to uninstall the program before you install it again, but when I went to do this the computer tells me he could find the file, I tried to search but could not find. The Player Windows Media says it has not been installed correctly and needed to be re installed. I tried to click on the link of website, it gave me and re install it but the message pops up and says that the version is not compatible with my computer. So how to get back my missing files and why my computer turn off in the first place? Thank you for your help.

Hi Joy,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing and will certainly help you in the right direction to solve the problem. However, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions to refine the question in order to provide you with better assistance.

  1. You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
  2. You get an error message when you start your system? If Yes, what is the exact error message you get?

According to the multitude of issues that arises after the stop crashed, it seems that a file system corruption occurred during power off of the system. For more, diagnose and fix the problem, I suggest trying the following methods and check if the problem persists.

Method 1:

Run the next fixit to solve problems with programs that cannot be uninstalled.

The problems that the programs cannot be installed or uninstalled

Check if you are able to uninstall programs and are then able to install them again.

Method 2:

Try to run a scan of the file system (CFS) auditor to check any file corruption:

  1. Go to Start, click all programs and open the Accessories.
  2. Right-click on command prompt in the list programs, and then select run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, click OK, or alternatively click on Yes.
  3. In the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow
