Windows 7 update KB977165

I have a problem with automatic Windows Update KB977165.  I use Windows 7 Premium 32 bit OS and the automatic updates keep installing the update even saying it was successful. But when I checked the log that shows that this update is not compatible to the version I have.  The Microsoft Download (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e2b348f5-ec8d-4782-bb03-5de550adea77&displaylang=en) page shows that it is for Windows XP, so I can't understand why my system continually tries to download it?

Here's what showed the newspaper,

[KB977165.log]

Quote:

You would like to uninstall the update via Start | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step) | Programs & features | Installed updates (assuming that it is in the list) & restart.

The error "update is not applicable to your computer" is generally mystical way Windows to tell you that what you are trying to install is already installed. Do not try to reinstall the update until you have uninstalled and restarted. If you cannot uninstall it for a reason, don't try "overinstalling" it.

  • 27 - 1110ea: Windows 7 update does not update

    Hello

I did now 2 installs fresh with the HP recovery discs and both windows update does not work. I tried different patches from microsoft that I found online in this regard and nothing works.

I don't know if it's related, but said SP1 is installed, but when I look in the installed updates it isn't here. If I try to uninstall from a command promt it says is not installed and if I try to install it from the microsoft download it says it is installed.

It makes me crazy. I was expecting it to work from a clean install, but it doesn't.

    Any help would be great.

    Hello

Welcome to the HP Support forum. Thank you for posting.

If it says SP1 is included, it means it is included and comes with the system, so you can not unintall it - it is part of the system - built in. You will not see the updates installed because it's built, do not subsequently installed.

It is a known problem that now when you perform a clean installation of Windows 7, the installation updates will be delayed. This is due because of many things including the fact that W7 is more priority Microsoft because of new OS on the juice of the horizon: like Windows 10. Some users have reported that after the new facility it may take hours of waiting until Windows 7 poster updates are available. But don't worry - they are not that critics and you shouldn't worry so much for them.

I can offer a workaround is to:

-Windows 7 update agent be manually updated to the latest version > > https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/kb/949104

-Download directly from MS "April 2015 battery maintenance update" and install it manually

    > > https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3020369

-Download Win 7 convenience roll update and install it manually

This update package, which combines updates dating all the way back to February 2011, is not be made available in Windows Update. If you install a Windows 7 system from scratch, you will need to go out of your way to download and install it. If you do not, Windows Update will download and install the updated way on day one by one, the slower, more tedious.

You have now all the updates of Windows 7 since its initial release until may 2016

After that, you try to install the new updates.

I hope it works for you. Let me know how it goes.

Windows 7, update services does not, RESOLVED.

The problem occurs when you change your hard drive for a bigger, in my hard drive of the case a GB Western Digital 340 WD 750 GB drive hard.

For the Windows automatic updates again you need update the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driverdriver. It will not be updated when you have intel check your drivers! For me, only the 9.5.6.1001 version worked. This driver can be found at http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02219204 .

Versions available at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng & ProductFamily = Software + Products & ProductLine = Chipset + Software & ProductProduct = Intel % c2% ae + Rapid + Storage + Technology + (Intel % c2% ae + RST) did not work for me (I tried the form version 12.8.0.106 08/08/2013.) Why does not the superior version is not clear to me.

Good luck to solve you yours it took me two weeks to find it.

So I thought another reboot may solve the problem, but it doesn't... it keeps just hung to this window.

No matter who else affected by it, or have solutions to try?

I had this same problem on both machines. During his connection, this behavior began immediately after the KB980408 update has been installed. The solution I found is to ctrl + alt + delete, start taskmgr and kill the task of custom settings. Then you have to manually run explorer.exe (file--> Run--> Explorer.exe) and windows should load as usual. The next time that I rebooted and logged in Windows loaded as usual. I'm guessing that this problem is a "run once" task. However, updates are not supposed to make your computer more stable?
