Windows 7 upgrade key

Hi all

I have a problem. I tried to upgrade my laptop Satellite L500 Windows 7 Home Basic Edition to another edition like Windows 7 ultimate/Professional/Premium edition. The problem I have is that the product under my laptop key dissipated and he is no longer visible, is it possible that it can be recovered? If so, how?

Thanks in advance

Hey,.

Why should it be unfair?

If your laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Basic Edition and you want to upgrade to another version (edition Home Premium, professional or ultimate edition), the key on the substantive side doesn t. The button on the underside belongs to the preinstalled version of Windows 7.

Note: Regardless of the key, no Home Basic key can be used for other versions. Each version of Windows 7 there own ranges of keys s. basic tone can only be used for basic, professional family versions for professional, etc.

Just to be sure, I tried upgrading several times, but got the same message.
Due to manufacturing defects, my laptop had to be repaired three times.  The motherboard has been replaced twice, the hard drive has been replaced three times and the processor once.  In fact, just a year last month, it still does not properly.  I bought the Windows Anytime Upgrade [upgrade to Windows 7 Professional to Home Premium] at the same time that I buy my laptop. Each time, except this time, I got to spend my OS.
The operating system on my laptop is now Windows 7 Home Premium [SP1]
Another thing, I bought this laptop until I moved to the United States to Asia.  If this may have something to do with the problem that I am facing?

  • Windows 7 installation complete with a Windows 7 upgrade key

I have 2 legitimate copies of Win 7. One is the upgrade, one is the full version. I have already installed the full version on one of my computers. Now, I want to install the upgrade on my second computer that is running the Windows 7 RC. With all the problems doing a clean installation of the version upgrade, I was wondering if I could use my full version install, but use the key to version upgrade? The key is linked somehow to the Win7 upgrade version or it should work?

I really don't want to have to reinstall Vista, and then install Windows 7.

Sorry, you need to reinstall Vista because the RC is not eligible for your upgrade disc. This is the key which is important - if you are using the full disc with the upgrade key will always be an upgrade and need for a qualifying version of Windows.

    The rules according to Microsoft:

In order to install the Windows 7 upgrade version, you must have a system of eligible operating Windows installed and activated.  You cannot install a version upgrade of Windows 7 on a drive blank.  The installation procedure you do not insert a Windows disk in the drive for verification, eligible operating system must be installed.
If you do not have a qualification system of operating Windows installed with an activated genuine license, then you can not use the version upgrade of Windows 7 - you would need a license of Windows 7 "full version".

    In summary:

    1. a Windows operating system to eligible address must be installed.
    2. the Windows operating system to eligible address must have a genuine license (product key) and it must be enabled.
    3. to upgrade, boot on the eligible Windows desktop, insert the Windows 7 upgrade disc in the DVD player.

    Microsoft:

Please note: all users of the Windows 7 Release Candidate (including Windows Vista users who have updated to the version Release Candidate) should do a new install of Windows 7 RTM. Please keep this is mind when you plan to download the Release Candidate rather than wait for the release of general availability.

Thanks again for your help to reach this milestone. We hope that you will join us in testing the RC and Windows 7!

  • Using Windows Anytime Upgrade Key to get real

    Hi all

I received a message telling me that my copy of Windows 7 Edition Family Premium is not authentic (should never have trusted my ex-friend now).  I've done the validation control and I have a legal copy of Home Premium for $109, said the Microsoft Web site.  However, I was wondering if I can use a Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade not only put to upgrade to Ultimate, but to me as well legal.  Did someone knows if I get a converted copy of an upgrade to Windows 7 will be get me real, it will just upgrade me to ultimate and still get authentic, or it won't work at all?  Please let me know!  Thank you!

The base license, in this case must first be validated until you can do an Express Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade or just pointed out that its true not too and ask you to upgrade to a version full.

Get the Windows 7 Home Premium license validated. You can do it by phone:

    Activate Windows 7 manually:
    1. click on start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option and brace yourself for a real person.

If this isn't a genuine license, you can get one at the shop from Microsoft for Windows 7 Home Premium and update the product key:

    http://store.Microsoft.com/Microsoft/Windows-Windows-7/category/102

You do not have we given a lot of details to work at though.

Is the license of Windows 7 Home Premium installed now a version upgrade or full? Was it a license borrowed friends? If it's a borrowed license, then you can buy a version key full if you do not have a license previously installed/enabled (XP or Vista).

When you buy the key, you can update the key:

  • Need information on the ISO of Windows 7 upgrade

    Hi all

I have Windows 7 Upgrade key and I want to download the ISO of Windows 7 Upgrade. But it seems that all responses are directed to the location of Digital River that no longer exists. Instead, this Web page are asked to visit the https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery page.

And when I use this address, connection just times out with Error 502 server.

Someone know where I can get the upgrade of ISOs?

    Thank you

    Jack

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

I made a custom from the disc of Windows 7 Setup, but it is designed for Vista upgrade only. Bought by mistake off Newegg, my mistake.

Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you!

As far as I know, there is no product that you are inferring that you have (a media/product Windows 7 upgrade key for Windows Vista upgrade system based only).  You need to simply (by design) perform a clean installation of Windows XP to Windows 7.

  • Upgrade WINDOWS 7 OEM of windows anytime upgrade

I have preinstalled OEM windows 7 HB. If I switch to Windows AnyTime Upgrade key (kit). Is there a problem? I read somewhere that Windows Anytime upgrade button does not support windows OEM. I have to upgrade to Home Premium.

OEM of Windows 7 versions can be upgraded to higher using either an upgrade of Windows 7 at retail, the full version or the upgrade key Express.

If you have such as key for Windows 7 Home Premium, you can use the upgrade wizard level Express in basic home edition to upgrade to the home edition Basic. If the Home Premium key is OEM, then you can not use it.

First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option to enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Home Premium, when asked, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium files the stored settings and programs.

I paid UK£ 120.00 for this windows any time upgrade key, and it seems that the only way I can send an e-mail to aid must pay UK£ 46.00 email support which is crazy for a new product.

    Someone kindly help me.

    Thank you

    Rob

If you have a retail version of Windows 7, then use the "Anytime Upgrade":
When you use the "Anytime Upgrade" option, all what you need to do is enter the product Windows 7 upgrade key has been purchased. Do this by clicking on: start/search and enter: upgrade Express

Most likely the best option and the most popular will be the Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7 Professional, which includes Windows XP Mode. The extra $50.00 for Windows 7 Ultimate will only give you two additional features, bitlocker (for security) and the ability to switch between any of 35 languages.

Note: Retail 'Full' or 'Upgrade' product keys will work when you use the Express Upgrade feature.
The Express Upgrade "may" not always work for users who have system integrators and or OEM product keys, this applies also to VL (Volume License), MSDNAA or key teaching will not work with the Express upgrade. KMS users consult your administrator before attempting to perform an Express upgrade.
