Windows 7 used product key sticker

The product key of Windows 7 on the sticker attached to the bottom of my laptop is worn and not readable.  The HARD drive crashed and I need to install a new one.  I can't boot from the existing HARD drive - but I can retrieve files from the disk using Recuva.  Is there a way I can get the product from a file recovered key?  Can I use the HP model and serial number to find the key to OEM product somewhere?  I'll need when I install the new drive.

Hello:

Unfortunately there is no way to get a replacement product key or to retrieve the key from the HARD disk.

Even if you could, you wouldn't be able to use to activate the windows installation.

Your only option short of buying a new operating system to full version (OEM or retail) is to order a recovery disc for your PC game, if they are still available.

AFAIK, a product key is not required when you use the HP factory recovery disks.  I've never had to enter a product key when using them.

Please look at the recovery disc guide commands on the link below.

In this case, since you mentioned that there is a Windows XP sticker in your desktop, it only means that your copy of Windows XP was preinstalled. To solve your problem, you should contact your computer manufacturer for a copy of the recovery disk and the copy of the product key. They will be able to help you to change the product key and the reactivation of your copy of Windows XP.

  • The Windows product key sticker has disappeared and cannot use it to activate

Windows product key sticker is missing at the bottom of my laptop and I can't do some of the latest figures, my laptop computer manufacturer did not provide any hardware Windows 7 or a disk and I contacted them and they won't help. My windows 7 is actually owner I have the sticker on the bottom of my laptop as evidence, can I send this to microsoft to help out me? also note, I had problems with my laptop and realizing that the hard drive has indeed not my old windows 7 installed and the hard drive is faulty, it cannot be extracted, that is the reason why I have a problem.

your manufacturer would have provided a recovery partition on your hard drive to recover windows. If your hard disk does not and you can't read your key, you will probably need to order from your manufacturer OEM recovery disks. (no key needed, because the OEM SLP key is embedded).

Try a bright light and a good magnifying glass to read your product key.

recovery disk is an option that will include license certificates & register automatically.

  • Faded to the Windows 7 product key sticker

I had to install a new hard drive on my laptop and did not have a Windows 7 installation disc Toshiba - laptop came with pre-installed software. The sticker of the product key on the base of the laptop is faded, so I used 3rd party software and extract the key from the registry. I downloaded an iso of Win 7 and used this product key and all very busy, and I used it successfully for the past few weeks. Now, it is said, I have 10 days to activate my product key is invalid for activation. I have read various threads that keep that product key recovered and used for the loading of Windows & is not suitable for activation, so I'm back to faded sticker. I figured out all but one the letters/numbers and wonder if I enter the product key sticker, and I guess that last number (I think it's a B, a 3 or an 8), if it turns out to cheat should I get another chance to enter the product key and try one of the other numbers/letters combinations? Thank you

You will never be able to activate a downloaded the ISO of Windows 7 with the key that came with the laptop. Your laptop came with a Toshiba OEM of Windows 7 version, and the ISO would be a commercial version.

You have to get a set of recovery discs from Toshiba or purchase the complete retail Windows 7 installation.

  • I have the windows product key sticker, but some of them are deleted. I really need help to send a photo to show him what it's like.

    Original title: product key

    Hello

I have the windows product key sticker, but some of them are deleted. I really need help if I can send a photo to show him what it's like. I formatted my laptop and he asks the authentic copy. I really need help coz 2 days left to activate.

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards

You can extend the activation period of 30 days by running slmgr /rearm since the Admin command prompt.

Then take a picture of your COA sticker with your phone, blow as large as possible to try to detect all the characters input for Activation.  You can also use a magnifying glass.

If you can not use the key to product then you will need to either the order of the restoration of the factory of the manufacturer of your PC media, or if you have a C:\windows.old folder you can try to reinstall the factory to SLP activation file.  However we do not support this so you will need to search on your own.

  • The Windows 7 product key sticker is torn.

The product key sticker is torn, and I'm not able to activate Windows 7. I had it before, but I have upgraded to windows 10 and it died on me and I had to reinstall windows 7. Only 3 of the characters are missing. Is there a way always activate? Contact the site I bought it since? I bought a little over a year. I can't afford to buy a new copy.

You will need to purchase a new license. Its best buy you just a copy of Windows 10 retail when it becomes available July 29, 2015.

  • Windows XP Home Product Key issues

I'm in a jam of sorts.  I have a Dell laptop which has crushed and need to reinstall XP Home.  The problem is that I can't find my XP Home CD that came with my Dell.  I have a CD Windows XP Home from a walkway all-in-one who is dead and is now trashed.  I ran the installation worked fine all except for the start of the Activation.  He said the incorrect product key.  I used a tool recommended on another site to save the old product key upward, but nothing seems to work - the old key from the Dell CD or one of my gateway.  I don't know what to do at this point?

If you have an OEM version of Windows XP, product key sticker should be placed on the computer/laptop tower by the retailer. Note that Microsoft will not be able to help you with an OEM version.

    Contact Dell to discuss it.

  • Reinstall Windows 7 without product key

I bought a used laptop that has either a version retail or upgrade of Windows 7 installed (OEM product key sticker is for the original OS, Vista). I would like to reinstall, but I don't have the product key. I tried tools such as Magic Jelly Bean KeyFinder, but they are unable to produce the key.

I made a USB installation using the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool. How can I reinstall?

If the key finder displayed BBBB-BBBB-BBBB is a volume license key. You might have to reinstall the original Windows Vista provided with the machine.

  • Product key sticker not readable

    Hello

Need help with my product key sticker.  My friend gave me his HP Netbook that has Windows 7 Starter edition is installed.  The sticker that has the code on it is attached at the bottom of the computer, and therefore, I can't read the third channel of information...  I can read as follows: ABCDE - SON-JK? MNOPQ-RSTUV.   The? are at the door of the letters on the product key sticker.    I found the CD key in the registry, but that the CD key is different from what is on the sticker, because I think it is came with Windows 7 Starter and Windows update it took for SP1.  How can I do as I want this info before upgrading the operating system in case it is needed.

    Thank you
    MM

    Hello

We cannot help you find what is the product key.

We can ARICI give you information to help you reinstall and activate this operating system of Windows Starter.

As it's a Netbook, it shouldn't have a DVD player.

But it will be a Partition to reinstall Windows 7 from recovery.

You can do this passing through HP Recovery Manager or by pressing F11 at STARTUP.

It is all explained in the link to HP

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c01867418&cc=us&destPage=document&LC=en&tmp_docname=c01867418

The product key that you found in the operating system's product key which is used on several machine during the production of the factory and is useless for purposes of resettlement.

It's nothing to do with the SP1.

    See you soon.

I bought my laptop with microsoft office 2010 is installed. I restored my laptop to factory settings, the product key sticker is faded so I used jellybean keyfinder to get it. While the re-activation of it Microsoft office said "this is not a valid product key Office...". »

What should I do to make it work again?

Please note that if you use the Windows 7 product key located on the certificate of authenticity attached to your system label, this will not work, it is only for Windows 7. You need a product key Office 2010. Also using the value default key OEM SLP for Windows 7 does not work with Office 2010

If your computer comes with a trial version of Office, you need to get a trial key or buy a full license:

  • New XPS 8700 - no product key sticker?

    Hi all

I just got my new 8700 XPS of FedEx today. I was check your box to admire its design and learn where all the ports when... I noticed there is No sticker of the product key of Windows 8. It is also the Microsoft Certificate of authenticity (from what I've seen). In the past, each computer Dell with Windows 7 or more is shipped with a product label key desktop somewhere he had normally on top of the case and laptops he had under the battery, or just on the bottom of the laptop.

After you call Dell customer service, the representative informed me the product key is embedded in the motherboard. Dell no longer includes a sticker with the product key. I mentioned how it was weird because there is a square area above the service tag label that seems to be specifically for the product key sticker. Yet once, the representative assured me that, if I have to reinstall Windows, installation don't automatically assume the key to the motherboard. The representative was very nice and helpful, no issues here.

There are probably programs out there to recover the product key of Windows 8, so I can write it physically. For this reason, I'm sure I can get the key myself. My two questions are:

1.) can anyone else confirm if Dell is 100% not including stickers product key on their new computers?

2.) any person properly reinstalled Windows 8 with the help of the method of the 'motherboard product key?

    Thank you for your time,
    Ground Knightt

  • Lost for reactivation product key sticker.

    Separated from this thread.

    1. can not activate this certificate number of product in my pc activation key.

I could not activate my Vista after I am reformatting my PC because the product key sticker missing 2 alphanumeric numbers.  Help, please.

    Hello

Try a torch and a magnifying glass to read the missing letters/numbers.

Or take a picture of the thumbnail and blow it up on the computer

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

    See you soon.
