Windows 8 could not start - no boot device - no Options

I have a Gateway computer in 2013 without a disk provided with 8 preinstalled windows drive. I did a full system recovery less then a week ago and you have not done something with windows since. I turned on my computer today to a reading "windows failed to load" error screen then I rebooted and that you haven't even spent the front door after twenty minutes of waiting. The next reboot a few was a frustrating mix of bridge and eventually achieve a black screen with a small white line in the corner, and then never do anything. Finally I made it to an option screen that told me to use the arrow keys to select an option. But there is no options. None. I pressed on the top and down arrows. Nothing. I pressed on enter. Nothing. Finally I pressed ESC received another message, I need to insert my windows installation disc. Where, I ask, am I supposed to put this drive?  I pressed on enter and led to a black screen where the only key that did anything at first was esc where I only got the error, no boot device - please reboot system. Then I pressed on enter and esc a few times before you restart and repeat the process with the same results.

I wonder if anyone has a solution. Please, any help would be appreciated. I also told him really as far as I know on this computer, I don't know much about them, so I don't think I can answer anything about the hardware.

You the computer tells you that it cannot find a device that has OS loaded on this subject. This normally means that the hard drive has gone wrong. First thing is to run the diagnostic on it. When you press the power button start tapping on the F button for your computer and BIOS menu will open. Select diagnostics if you have one and test it to find errors. Not all system equipped with diagnostic in the BIOS. If the hard drive breaks down or he says that you don't have a hard drive, then you need to get a new one and order the DVD of recovery of the manufacturer. If everything goes, looks like the BONE is damaged. If you have a CD or DVD to install Windows repair system, boot from the CD/DVD and run the repair of it. You will have access to the boot device options in the BIOS to make it boot from the CD/DVD. If you do not have a CD repair system, you can make one from a computer that has the same OS as yours. If that does not fix it then your probably going to have to reload your OS back operational. You will need to recover your data and files before you do this. If you want to try to recover your files click on the link below and read about how to download and use a Linux Live CD to the system startup to retrieve what you want. If you have a computer of Windows 8, then you must disable secure boot using the CD. The Live CD you will also see the rest of the computer.

http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-v...

Once you got what you need, you can reload your operating system.

Try the advanced startup options. When you press the power button, start typing the F8 key. You will see the early startup menu. Select repair your computer. Select your language and enter your user name and password. Click (brand name) then next and factory Image Restore. Answer the question and it should start the recovery back to the factory settings.

If you can not access the advance startup options and then try to recover from the recovery partition.

When you press the power button start tapping on the F button for your computer and BIOS menu opens, select the recovery mode. This will reset your computer back to factory settings.

  • Windows 10 could not locate the boot camp partition

I'm trying to install 10 Windows on an iMac end of 2015 with a 512 SSD.  With the help of Boot Camp and an ISO of Windows 10, I am able to create the Bootcamp partition and the iMac restarts in the Windows of Windows installation. I enter my product key for my Windows 7 DVD and reach the screen showing partitions.  I select "disk 0 Partition 5 Boot Camp" partition and click on 'Format' according to the Apple support document.  The partition is then renamed to 'Drive Partition 0 5'.  When I select the next button, I get the following error message:- "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one.  For more information, see the Setup logs files'.  The Windows Installer does not progress.  I deleted the partition several times using bootcamp and restarted the installation and always get the same failure.

Any advice on how to install Windows would be greatly appreciated.  Boot Camp 6 will let me install Windows 7 on the iMac and so I need to use Windows 10.  I guess the Windows 10 ISO downloaded from Microsoft will work with the Windows 7 product key and Setup seems to accept it.

    System:

    Toshiba Satellite A-75

HITACHI Travelstar hard drive 80 gig

    Nice day

I'm getting this ' file is missing or damaged:------WINDOWS-SYSTEM32-CONFIG-SYSTEM ' error and Windows does not start in the F8 boot options. When I disable the auto reboot, I get a BSOD 51 registry error, consistent with the file "missing or corrupt" error Surprisingly "Recovery Console" works so I used to run chkdsk. This has not solved the problem, but even once, surprisingly, the utility reported no fixed error. Ok. I do research online (using another computer of course) and check out the many tips that I copy some files in my "c:\windows\repair" folder in the folder 'system '. Before I had time to do that, however, I found an article from Microsoft stating that this should not be done if you have an OEM System... what I'm doing. Apparently, hives system on these OEM installed OS set other passwords that can permanently block you on your records if you use this method. Thanks for the warning. My system restore disc is nothing more than a tool of re-insall OS that will wipe all my data in the process, and this is not desirable. Currently, I see again all my data on the drive by using the "recovery console". I'm ready to thread the needle on this one in the hope of re - access the operating system, although in some limited capacity. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you run chkdsk in RC, did you use the /r switch? This is the key! In other words, this should be the command:

    Chkdsk /r

(there is a space before the slash)

Moreover, KB307545 can be run safely on most OEM XP installations. Of course, nothing is guaranteed 100%.

Before you do this or else, you really must ensure all data is stored safely. One way to do this is to start on a live Linux CD and then copy the files to an external hard drive. Another way is to connect the problem hard drive into a working PC and copy the files in this way. This could be done by the servo drive or with an adapter like this:

If you use a spyware/malware third party program, it may disable the Windows Defender service. To restart the Windows Defender service, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, type Run. (You can also use Win Key + R)
    b. type services.msc
    c. right-click Windows Defender service and click Start.

However, if you do want to use the program at all, change the startup type to "Manual" in the Services properties. Right-click Windows Defender, and then click Properties to display the option.

    Hello

The following assumes that you are running Windows 7.

If you do not, use another PC to create a rescue CD Windows 7.  Download the ISO relevant among the links below - if you are unsure of the version, your laptop is listed as coming from a 64-bit installation.

    Windows 7 32 bit

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD-( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn options)- hereis a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

  • Windows Vista could not start and wants me to run the Startup Repair tool BUT

It does not work... it takes forever and then asks me to load the drivers... where are they located? I can't find them on my Vista disk or my drivers disk... using a Dell Studio 17...

When he goes into repair mode it gives a big arrow after about three or four minutes... then in another five he asks for keyboard language, then select the driver...

where should I go from here? I know that this has already been answered, but I can't seeem to get there

Here is an article from Dell on how to do a manual reinstall of the operating system (but note this is a clean install and not a system/upgrad repair install so it will wipe clean all the process data): http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?docid=339949.

If you have an Installation of Vista genuine disc, you may be able to do an installation of repair/upgrade of the system (which would be better than the above option).  Here is the procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-vista.html.  Although this will not affect your data, settings or programs, you should always back up your data before you start just be on the safe side. If other procedures do not work, it is almost certain to work.  You can have a lot of updates to re - install (including all you need to remove service packs).  If the version of the system came with SP1 or SP2 preinstalled and the disc is an earlier version, then you will need to make a record of slipstream as follows: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/151606-vista-sp1-slipstream-installation-dvd.html.  If you have problems to install the drivers, read the article above by Dell on how to obtain and install the drivers - it should apply in this case as well.

If your system is still under warranty, contact the Support technique Dell and they probably have you will help with your problem over the phone free.  If she is no longer under warranty, there are still a few options of support at their Support Center who may be able to help. http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs& ~ ck = mn or http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dellcare/en/contact_technical_support?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs.  \

  • Computer laptop Windows XP does not start? Help

Hi I have a windows xp laptop I think that their system eis or something like that... Whenever I start the laptop, he's going on the error you get when your dosent laptop shut down correctly. If I click on start normally the bar will spend about a quarter of the way and then just stayed forever and only safe mode also gets a freeze from then. Y at - it something wrong with the laptop or what. How can I get my laptop to work again... someone help me please.

It is up to tell you to us what brand of system and the model is... not "system ist or something like that."

When you choose to start safe mode and you can see all the stuff being loaded and the system crashes, which is the last line on the screen to say?

If you attached an external equipment, especially USB devices, disconnect everything and then you can see if things seem better.

If you get an error message windows system config, exactly what he says?

    No error paraphrased messages please!

    It was something like this:

Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

Which usually indicate some sort of corruption of system files may be a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).  None of this seems familiar?

If you can boot from a CD, you can create a CD bootable XP (no XP media required) Recovery Console and run chkdsk with correction of errors on the afflicted to start System.

    Here's how:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget what you have (no XP media required).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD (do not install UniBlue or the Ask Toolbar - never!):

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
