Separated from the:Hi HBrown Gordon,
In order to focus more on your particular situation, I shared your post to a new thread.
Please take a look at the following information through Wunders in a previous post:
The work of Windows Explorer is to consider what is in the disk and its directory and present this information to the user. If the disk or the disk directories are corrupted, it confuses Windows Explorer and can lead to lock. Whenever Windows Explorer crashes, the first step should be to achieve a check disk (chkdsk) with the /f or/r option.
"How to perform disk error in Windows XP check"
<>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315265 >Check disk can usually take hours depending on the speed and the size of the hard drive. If corruption is present, it may take more time. Plan on execution of the audit during the night or when you won't need your computer for awhile. In addition, if corruption is present, files may be lost. If possible, save what you can before you run the disk check.
Hope that helps!

When starting, my windows xp hangs or crashes when you try to load 'personal settings '. I can't do something, but stop once again on commissioning, she repeats the same actions. What now? Thank you
Hello
Disconnect all external devices from the computer and try to restart the computer and check what is happening.
Step 1:
Try to boot to the desktop in safe mode and check what is happening. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic as possible cause device drivers. To start in safe mode follow the link.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222
Step 2:
If you are able to boot to the desktop in Mode safe, it means that the third-party application prevents the computer from starting in normal mode. To check you can configure the computer to clean start State and then try to boot into normal mode and check what is happening. To set up its own start-up follow the link below.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353
If the problem does not continues when the computer is in the clean start State follow the steps listed to identify which application is causing the problem.
Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 article to start on normal startup.
Hope this information is useful.

Windows Explorer hangs in vista
I use windows vista home edition and using widows Explorer to find files, etc, if there is a problem, that is to say wireless hub or permissions, then explore just hangs. Manager tasks cannot stop the Explorer, the only solution seems to be reset. Why I left XP? y at - it update?
Hello Greensleeves2001,
Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Forum.
Since Windows Explorer hangs when you perform a search to find files, it is possible that your search index may be corrupted or unusable. So, it is quite easy to rebuild the search index.
Click on the start ORB, in the start search box, type index. Then select the Indexing Options of instant search, which will be at the top of the list.
Click Advanced, and then select Rebuild to rebuild the index from scratch. This will take a while to complete, so don't choose not to do this if you are just finishing a task.
If please reply back and let us know if it helped to solve your problem
Sincerely,
Marilyn

Original title: ADVENT ROMA, WINDOWS 7 hangs at startup
Sorry, it's a long. Please can someone help?
I'm in safe mode with NETWORK at this time because it does me to start up in normal mode, just freezes. He started two days during the Action center said for me to turn the Security Center service in Windows, but when I click on it nothing happens. He says only: "safety of the window cannot be started. He also said that my AVAST antivirus has been extinguished, but that came back yet again, I don't know how because I couldn't do it when I clicked it.I had this problem with starting of freezing and antivirus itself switching off before a few months ago and it is resolved by deleting the antivirus and re install and run cleanboot. I tried cleanboot once again, for the safe mode, but the problem is still there. I tried SYSTEM RESTORE but it says No restore points are created on the drive system of your computer to create restore point open 'system protection'. When I click the link it just takes me to system properties and there is no mention of the protection of the system. I try to get the protection of the system through Start >right-click computer > properties and there is no system protection tab in the left pane click. Is there another way to perform a restore of the system? When I did cleanboot two months of action there is, as a result, I found on the microsoft Web site could I permanently deleted all restore points at the same time?AVAST won't work in safe mode, I don't know if it's just on my laptop or if it's a universal thing, so I can't do a virus scan so I downloaded scanner security Microsoft and no viruses etc. have been detected.I haven't downloaded anything before it happens and the only thing I can think that I have done differently is I plugged an external mouse for my daughter (who did not work anyway) and it worked fine after disconnection until a few hours later, so I think that have nothing to with it.This is what I tried so far as I can remember so...Help!PLEASE, I BEG YOU!Hi Panad,
Disable SuperFetch service in safe mode, restart the computer in normal mode and check the status of the issue.
a. open administrative tools by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type administrative tools, and then click Administrative Tools.
b. double-click on Services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c. right-click on the Service and then click Properties. d click on disable. e. save the changes by clicking on apply and ok.
I hope this helps.

Tecra S3 - Windows 2000 hangs on reboot
Hi all
I have a Tecra S3 dual boot Windows XP and 2000, with the correct RAID driver installed for each of them.
In Windows 2000, it hangs for a reset. It is necessary feed the computer works in order to complete the reset.
This problem does not occur in Windows XP and BACK. Is there someone else by using Windows 2000 with this model?
Thank you
Rubens
Hello
Well, it's not easy to say why this problem occurs. I assume that you have installed the W2k since the original Windows CD. In this case, it is very important to install the driver Toshiba, tools and utilities in the correct order.
On the Toshiba download page I found a statement of installation for W2k. This list gives you a good driver installation information. Please see this document.Good bye

X 1 carbon 2014 windows 7 hangs after the main power connection
Nice day
After the Polish Lenovo call center refuses to help me ask you to help. For about a week now, my X 1 carbon 2014 hangs after connection to the power supply. It's so irritating. I think, I only installed the updates regular windows 7 and the update of the BIOS via the lenovo update tool.
The Polish Lenovo Support Center came with the excellent range of system solution. I really hope that you would be able to help more effectively at the same time.

Windows 7 hangs after reboot (after "Sensor HP Mobile Data Protection" updated)
My Windows 7 Home Premium hangs (blue screen) to the 'Starting Windows' screen after reboot. And the reason for the rebate to zero (and crash) is updated to Windows "HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor" . I did hidden, but now I need to install drivers for my webcam and every time that I turn on "automatic driver installation" update of windows server, it installs not only the WebCam drivers, but also this «HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor» update Which brings me to the crash at the next restart of Windows. The only way is to return to the system restore point.
I use a laptop "HP Compaq 6715 b" . I had Vista prior to this (it was preinstalled with HP all the "stuff"), but after upgrade (reinstallation) of windows 7, upgrading from windows found all the drivers (and graphics and sound and even the biometric device drivers), but is now something wrong after every update "HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor" . Why? Or at least I can make him 'banned '?
P.S. I had and have the 32-bit version of Windows.
ny6uctblu,
Have you checked with HP on any problems with this software? Here is a link for download of HP for the software. You should also check that your BIOS is up to date. I found some info on a wire of HP on the Data Protection sensor Mobile works is not propely. This thread can also give you some other ideas.Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

64-bit Windows vista hangs after you run the update
Hello
Last night I ran the update of windows on my 64 bit vista laptop, he said there are 2 updates important (I don't remember what they were) and 1 optional (for security essentials). I chose to install them all, let run updates, restarted the computer when he was asked and then pinned the problem. Windows starts up nicely, all my startup apps pop up like normal (things like security basics, steam, etc.) and, if I don't touch it, it looks fine. Sometimes I can get as opening firefox, sometimes just moving my mouse t - it, but the computer just hangs. I can still move my mouse (sometimes it turns in a circle, as the computer working on something) but I can't click on anything whatsoever, cannot Ctrl + alt + delete... my only way of l ' down made a difficult start.
I tried to use the tool of the previous version to roll back to before the update, the Wizard works well and said completing, but I still have the same question. If I'm in safe mode or safe mode with networking, it works fine. I even tried to delete pending.xml to see if it was an update stuck but who did not (cmd said that there was no pending.xml found to remove)
Anyone know what this might be or how to fix it? I'm fresh out of ideas
HelloGiven that everything works well in safe mode which makes them a third-party application causes the computer to freeze. You need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.
Here are the steps to do:
1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
The user account control permission.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type

4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
5. click on OK.
6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.
If the problem is resolved to check what is the cause of the problem, referring to the link given below:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
8. in addition, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the software problem on your computer.
Reset the computer to start as usual
9. When you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
10. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

Hello world
Yesterday in the middle of the workday restarted my computer and I lost a program I worked (I already coded again). I think it might be automatic update of Windows. Then, after that, I tried to wear this dialogue and set my settings to manually install updates.
However, whenever I try to bring up this dialog box and do something, it hangs and I have to kill it using Task Manager.
Do you know what should I do? It would be rather some viruses? I use MS Essentials as my anvivirus program. Recently, I did a manual scan and it found 3 (deleted) Trojan. I don't know how they are in first place.
In any case, do you know what I would do in this situation?
Appreciate your suggestions in advance. Premature optimization is the root of all evil in programming. (c) by Donald Knuth
