Windows 8 install not finished

Hello

Today I received my HP Envy 700 desktop computer. After some problems, installing Windows 8 has not finished.

Now, when I start my computer the screen repeat myself that windows installation has not completed properly and I have to restart the computer. This gives the same result. I'm not a systemrecorvery with F11 or F10.

WndOws 8 is installed on an SSD card.

What I have to do recovery CD and use them on the HP Envy? How?

Thanks for any help. I hope that I can use my new computer soon.

Hello

I had the problem of Sys Prep with a set of HP recovery disks created on my HP computer.

I had to order a resumption of the HP factory. Set HP recovery completed successfully.

It seems that the recovery image on the SSD drive is messed up. You disconnect all external devices except the factory condition keyboard and mouse when you are recovering?

Here is the support site for your PC. I don't see a recovery disk value available to the command for any installed operating system listed...

I think you'll have to contact HP Support, explain your problem, and they may have to provide HP recovery disc to restore your PC to factory State. You can also return the PC to get a refund or Exchange the computer following the procedures required by the retailer.

    1. What is the full error message received when the problem occurs?
2 is the issue limited to 2722913 Ko?
    3. what the hell are you talking to "by himself"?

    Method 1:

You can temporarily disable the antivirus software, and then try to install the update to see if that helps.

    Rrefer link for more information.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

You can download the update from the link following and installing it manually in a clean boot state:

  • Windows Setup has not finished.

    Hello

I reinstall Windows XP on a Dell Dimension 4500 with a Dell Windows XP Pro SP3 recovery disk. I followed all the steps to reinstall. I deleted the old partition and installed chose NTFS quick format. The installation went fairly smooth until I got the Windows Setup screens. It had an error message saying that it could not install some files but installation suite. Then I got an error saying that it could not connect to the internet. After that, everything went find until it restarts. He was about to read the Windows XP welcome video until it froze. All that appeared was a white screen with the Windows logo in the upper left corner with an 'X' on it. So I let it sit for about 45 minutes, and then I turned off the computer and deleted from the drive. From the beginning it upward, I found that it created an administrator account and it lacks many things. Also, I can't connect to the internet.  Here is a list of what is missing:

    • Photos from account.
    • A few wallpapers (Bliss, Azul and all others on the theme nature wallpapers)
    • The internet connection wizard.
    • Windows Media Player
    • Outlook Express
    • Help & support
    • Start menu customization options.
    • Remote assistance.

Most of the drivers installed except a few including Ethernet controller.

What hurts? and how to fix it? Here are a few screenshots that might help.

It is an old system (with an old optical drive) and Windows XP has reached end of life 1 year ago, his insecurity and preferable to use only not etc etc. Assuming that you know this and to install Windows XP in any case.

The first problem you have is the optical drive cannot read all the files on the CD and it ignores certain files, probably the laser in the struggles of optical drive with files from certain angles. If you have a newer PC with an optical drive to best, install ImgBurn (make sure that you opt for a facility advanced opting to not install any unwanted preloaded toolbars...). Create a .iso CD image, and then use ImgBurn to burn this .iso to more than 3 CD image. When the installation files cannot be read on the CD instead of exchange for one of the copies to jump. The file will be in a different location on the CD and it will be able to copy the file.

The second question is you have devices connected to the system which may interfere with the installation of Windows. Its better to attach only keyboard, mouse and monitor. You had a brother printer attached...

The third point is that you have not installed all the system drivers... I recommend that you use the old version of WSUS offline update to download all the updates of Windows XP (on a new work computer from a USB flash drive) before you install the drivers for your system:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/WSUS-offline-update/obtaining-the-latest-service-packsbuilds-of-Internet-Explorer/patching-Windows-XP-fully-using-the-WSUS-offline-update/

You can then download the system from the Dell FTP site drivers drivers and downloads may not work for an XP machine (on a new work computer from a USB flash drive):

    http://downloads.Dell.com/published/pages/dimension-4500.html

You will need to install the drivers in the order, which is particularly critical for Windows XP works correctly:

  • Windows XP will not finish closing

I have Version 2.0.4 (159196) merger and normally I have no problems.  First of this program installed on my Macbook Pro and the other day I opened the merger/windowsxp and some other programs, it is on the side of my Mac, when it was time to go to bed I closed the lid on my Mac, and the next morning, I opened the hood, read my mail and did a few other things on the Mac side.  So I opted for the windows form, and it says that Windows has been stop, stop ok I really should not use windows.  Later I went back and he said the same thing, as it froze.  I have quite fusion strength and stop my computer, when I've reworded my mac and went to the merger, he said has been shut down windows.  I can't reach to stop, there is no place where to click to force windows to close and open the merger.  If anyone can help... Thanks Kathy

    Hi Kathy,

As you suggest, it seems that Windows froze. This occurs on physical computers, too, but at least there, you have a power switch. For a virtual machine, you must force to turn off; This article (and video) will guide you through the process: http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1006215. If you're curious about how this works, I recommend the article from the link in the additional information section.

Either way, you mention that you're under Fusion 2.0.4. I strongly recommend that you update your version, as there have been several bug fixes and performance fixes since then. You can download 2.0.8 Fusion now, for free, here: https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/details?downloadGroup=FUS-208&productId=49&rPId=1540. Stop your virtual machine before upgrade you, but the process should be pretty painless.

You should consider upgrading to the latest version of released Fusion, Fusion 4. It cannot be run on older versions of MacOS Snow Leopard version, but it is much faster than Fusion 2. It is an upgrade, you need to buy, but you can try a free trial 30 days here: http://www.vmware.com/go/tryfusion.

    Greetings,

    Please read this.

You can wait patiently (updates will appear later) or there is a problem in the article.

You need to reinstall Windows for the fix. Your PC must be isolated from the network when reinstalling windows. You need to download both updates and install before connecting your PC to the network.

I used the fix of Ed Bott and it works. But I reinstalled Win 7 again. I wasn't going to wait for hours and hours to get the security updates.

You can try to install these updates on the problematic installation of Win 7:

    1. apply the Microsoft patch found here. Disconnect from the network.

    2. install the two updates in offline mode and cross your fingers.

    3. repeat on Windows Update.

It's strange because for the first three weeks of this computer, I had no problem with the installation of all available updates, or anything else. Then when the updates of August were available I chose all security updates and install optional updates that have already downloaded click on the button and nothing happened, it remained only on 0%. I really want to use my new computer, but I don't like to run without new security and the latest updates. I had trouble before what do.

  • Windows CD can not find installed hard drives

I have a PC that has windows XP installed and worked well and I have DSL so I kept it updated. It has been updated for the updates. It was a month that it seemed hung on a windows update and I've finally powered down to exit the update mode. After that, he would finally in XP but would not other that the busy when an icon is clicked. I decided to reload XP using the same CD I used originally when I built PC. It will load the drivers to install XP, but when installing windows is selected it says no hard drives found. When booting 2 HARD disks are displayed, but are not detected when you look in the BIOS. I've tried changes in the BIOS as auto detect HDD including default BIOS and not go. I remembered to change a partition using Partition magic 8.0 and decided that might be the problem, so I started in the magic of partition and formatted part C of the HDD in NTFS, but the results are the same. Any suggestion is appreciated. TIA

Do you mean you see a message like this?

Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer. Make sure that the hard drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct. This may involve a diagnosis provided by the manufacturer or the installer running. Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3.

If the disks are not appearing in BIOS, it seems unlikely that XP will be able to see them no more.

Describe the best you can, your hard disk configuration...  IDE, SATA, SCSI, RAID configurations...

You build the hardware yourself or is it a system store bought?

Are you able to determine when the system turns on, the brand and model of your motherboard and the BIOS it is running?

Without more information, I can only offers these general reflections where to search:

When you see a message like this, obviously the XP installation starts to load, but then when the installation program needs to go out and find your hard drive is not find the hard drive.  It means not necessarily your hard drive is defective and if it worked before, it's probably still plugged.  It simply means that the installation of XP is not able to find it.

Looks like you need enter the BIOS on your system by pressing the 'Delete', F2, F10 or F12 key (what the key is good for your system), find the section where the types of hard disks and hard disk interfaces are configured and temporarily change the setting so the XP installation is able to find the hard drive.

Where to find the accommodation and how to change depends on your system manufacturer and the version of the BIOS, so you end up having to look at her.  If you know your system brand and model, we can probably help you find a job.

You must locate and change the interface mode to your hard drive in the BIOS so that when installing XP loading, it will be able to locate the hard drive.

Before making adjustments, you should take note of what are the current BIOS settings, so you can change when you are finished.

The adjustment varies so here are some examples that I have accumulated:

The adjustment is done in the BIOS and could be in Integrated Peripherals, Configuration of SATA, SATA Mode device.  After you make the changes, save them and restart your XP installation program.

If you find that the mode is set on the RAID/SATA mode, change the IDE mode.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI, change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to AHCI emulation Mode, change the IDE emulation mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA, SATA mode off or change the ATA mode.

If you find that the mode is set to SATA Native Mode, disable the native SATA Mode.

If you find that the mode is set on AHCI/RAID Autodetect, change the combination mode.

If find you the setting that works for you, I would like to know what it is so I can add it to my notes.

Do, or do not. There is no test.
