service Windows install not about services.msc

Running Vista Home premium, SP2, 32-bit o/s and receive messages of "update failed". I checked the permissions DCOM, has given full control to the SYSTEM account, checked registry permissions.  When I went to check the properties of the Windows Installer service, I found that WINDOWS INSTALLER did NOT appear on the list!

Problem was recognized during scheduled updates were fails with the error 80070641 Code 641.  I tried to download WINDOWS INSTALLER 4.5, but all the versions for VISTA failed with "not intended for this machine" messages, I tried.  Help!  I can't uninstall even without this module.  Thank you.

    Hi Jim,.

    • You are able to install and uninstall other programs on the computer with any error message?
    • Have you made changes to the computer recently before this problem started?

    Step 1

You can check if the windows service install is set to automatic and started and change accordingly. After verification test to check if you can uninstall iTunes and reinstall. To do this, follow the steps below:

    2. In the start search box type services.msc and press enter
    3. In the services window, do scroll down to Windows install.
    4. Right-click on it and click Properties.
    5. Check if the startup type is set to automatic, otherwise it is set to automatic.
    6. Click the Start button, this will start the installation of windows services.
    7. Click on apply and Ok.

    Step 2

If the steps above do not help, you can unregister and re-register the windows service installed on your computer and check if that helps you solve the problem.

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. click on the Start menu, click on run.
    (b) in the Open box, type msiexec /unreg and press ENTER.
    (c) in the Start menu, click run.

  • Windows install not installed at all

I have the error indicating that windows install is not installed correctly whenever I try to download, well, whatever it is.  The thing is that I got vista sp2 when you try to install windows install 4.5 manually for the x 86 it says that I don't have the right system to System.  I'm sure that I'm doing and I even downloaded any version of 4.5 check and they have all failed.  I really hope someone can help me with this problem because I just downloaded vista and I have nothing on my computer so not be able to download whatever it either really limits what I can do.

But knowing that I already tried the following before posting.
    1. I looked in windows services install so that it starts automatically, however it is not at all here
    2. I looked in my registry for msiserver and he isn't here leading me to believe that I don't have same installer yet that its not working not
3 sfc/scannow does not detect any errors.
    4. Finally, I tried to find msiexec.exe to reregister it and I don't get the option, I can't even find msiexec.exe/unregister when I search for it just msiexec.exe that gives nothing more than some legal information.

OK just nvm fixed it with a new registry key found very useful on the page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2642495#FixItForMeAlways troubleshooting had to do it manually but it works!

  • 10 Windows install not from Windows 7 HP

    Hello everyone.

I am having some problems I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 10 from my Windows 7 laptop.

My upgrade was reservered and was supposed to start install at 11 pm GMT.
There was 1 hour warning message to say that he will start download in an hour.
I let the time pass and it restarted my computer. He then asked me to log in again. A few seconds later Windows Update broke open and said these exact words.

(Header) "Restart your computer to install important updates"
(Main) "Windows cannot update services and important files while the system uses them. Save all the files and restart the computer, and then try to find the new updates."

I restarted 6 times now. And he always says the same thing.
I can see get Windows 10 is still open in the taskbar, but all that is take me to Windows Update.
I downloaded the files Windows 10 Home shortly after I got my copy reservered.
    I can't have it installed!

If someone could help that would be great.
    Thank you.

Please be aware, even if you do not get the Windows 10 app, you can always download Windows 10 as one. ISO file, create a bootable copy and update your system.

  • Unable to update windows install not accessible, also arresting installation of Skype and Webcam live messneger

I had to reprogram my computer on Saturday, I had limited success running the fix tool that allowed me to get most of my updates including service Pack 3. He says it is fixing my Installer, but it doesn't. I restart and try to finish the updates, .net framework 3.5 or something. No luck, so I'm going where I'm done and always end up with the same fix it tool. I've been going in circles for two days. The OS is xp home sp3. I got CCleaner where he was at fault. I have run the fix it tool at least 12 times now. The installer is still inaccessible, and I worry about playing with my registry to be honest.

For the moment, I can't download live messenger or Skype. Suffice to say that my Installer is damaged or inaccessible. Please help me, I'm really at a loss here!

Thank you very much for answering, I'm like a dog with a bone when something goes wrong with my computer, I managed to solve the problem of windows repair. Then manually by doing some updates as you suggested. Winodws runs great so is live and Skype! Thanks again... sneak off to consult windows 8 = D
