Windows 8 is not to install updates

OK, so I just bought this computer (desktop) with Windows 8, I am trying to download Windows 8.1 and it says that I need to first update Windows 8.

I go into the settings of updates and it shows 94 available updates, but it will not download them. I'm going to solve problems and it shows me error with: registration for the Service is missing or damaged, the recent updates installation problems and check for missing or corrupted files.

Any help?  Thank you!

OT: Windows 8 is not updatding

Hello

1. which antivirus program is installed on the computer?
2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

Usually, you get this error during the installation of the software updates. If Microsoft found some problems in the digital signature of the update is when you usually get this error.

Method 1: I suggest you run the utility of Windows Update and see if that helps.
Windows Update Troubleshooter

Method 2: I suggest you to scan SFC. The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. When the analysis is complete, the System File Checker tool indicates whether integrity violations were found. If integrity violations are detected, the System File Checker tool difficulty integrity violations. See the following article about how to proceed.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files

If this does not work, what is the EXACT message you get on Windows Installer and when does it appear?  When the problem started?  Which version of Windows Installer you are using and which version has problems?  A new version has been installed recently, and it is this new version with the problem?  Which version of Vista you are using (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2)?  What are you installation requires Windows Installer, which causes this problem (name and version of the program)?

  • Update to Windows 7 SP1 installed, but not in installed updates or system

Recently, I installed Windows 7 x 64 Ultimate on my pc and then with the update. All the updates successfully without error. Win7 SP1 update was also without errors. • Windows 7 does not stop after updates

My computer will not stop after you install updates. What is the best way to solve the problem?

    Thank you
    Cam1956

    Hi cam1956,

The updates take time depending on the size of the file. If the update has hung so I suggest you hard reboot the computer and see if you can boot to the desktop. If you can boot to the desktop and then the updates are not installed will appear and which will be installed during the next update.

Run the troubleshooter in Windows 7 for Windows Update turn when starting the computer on the desk, and perhaps that should take care of the updates. Install updates by selecting two to both as the updates and see update is actually causing the problem.

Once you have identified the update that causes the problem, you can access the link below and install the updates manually.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/GP/downloadover/en-AU#TAB0

If you know the updates that must be installed, you can manually enter the KB update in the search bar the link to download the update manually.

If the computer does not start on the desktop, then I suggest you to start safe mode and see if you can boot to the desktop. If you are in the office, do a system restore which will take the computer to a time where it was working fine and then start to install the updates manually as suggested above.

Go to the link below for the procedure to start in Safe Mode and system restore.

What are the differences between Windows updates and automatic updates from Microsoft Updates?

While Windows Update provides updates specifically for Windows, Microsoft Update expands the service to download and install updates for other Microsoft software, such as Microsoft Office and Windows Live [as well as Silverlight & Microsoft Security Essentials]. Update automatic is a feature that allows you to configure your PC to automatically download and install updates using each service, making it easy and convenient for you to keep your current Windows PC.

    Source: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/windowsupdate/FAQ.mspx>

If you disable Microsoft Update, your default update source is "reversed" update of Windows, but it does NOT neutralize automatic updates.

I am and have been, problems with a computer Windows XP here at work that does not detect critical updates either Windows Update or Microsoft Update.  In fact, the only update that is currently available to me is one for Silverlight.  I also checked that no update is currently hidden.  In addition, when checking "Add/Remove Programs" when you select the check box 'Show updates', that an update installed is listed: Security Update for Windows XP (KB923786).

I should also mention that I don't get any errors whatsoever in the analysis of updates; simply, the updates are not listed as being available for me to install.  It's almost as if he thinks that I have already installed.

As I suspected, the computer has a (very early) beta of SP3 installed. Uninstall, reboot twice, and then install Windows XP SP3 Final [1] & restart twice again.

WinXP SP3 - read all the prerequisites for a successful installation
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/harrywaldron/archive/2008/05/08/Windows-XP-SP3-read-all-prerequisites-for-a-successful-installation.aspx

Then go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all updates critical security available (only); Follow all the instructions. Subsequently, another CUSTOM scan to make sure that you have not missed any.

Tip: Do NOT install IE8 via Windows Update! Just 'hide' for now, please. (Believe me).
