Hello, my name is Sarah and I would really appreciate your help.

I have a Samsung laptop with Windows 8 or 8.1, can't remember which. I changed the password on my Microsoft account (I can access Outlook online), but the computer won't let me. I tried to reset without success. I had Windows with the laptop, so no installation diskettes. Any ideas other than a system restore? Thanks for the help.

If yours is a system that came with Windows preinstalled, the OEM
Vendor had to give you a way to reinstall if necessary. If you do not
DVD player, there should be a restore hidden on the disk partition.
See your documentation or contact the manufacturer to find out how to use
it.

However, from what you describe, reinstall Window does not ring
like what you do.

    Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

    A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

    (If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the Firefox 4, 5, 6, 7 SafeMode pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

    Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

    If it's good in Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

    3. This involved on some user accounts or all of them?

    4. have you installed new software or drivers on this computer, before the problem appeared?

    In addition, if the question has recently arisen, I would make a system restore. I want that bring you the computer to the earliest possible restore point, in an attempt to Dodge everything that has the problem. Here is a document on how to perform a system restore: System Restore

    In addition, there are some third-party programs that can cause this problem. You can go to Panel, then programs and features and uninstall anything that you do not use.

    I have of course my copy of windows is genuine, I paid the school buy the laptop for us students. In recent weeks, I got my motherboard replaced by Acer technicians because I kept BSOD problems.
