Windows 8 "Other users" is the available connection option only

I've had this problem for a few days now and others have been able to solve, but they had access to an account. I don't.

I have recently reinstalled Windows because of the constant freezes, and when first installed, Windows stopped responding. I chose the end of the task, and this huge problem that I've ever had in this measure was just pushed in my face.

The only user on the login screen (which is where my computer took me once essentially restarted Windows) is this option 'User' turned out to be impossible to connect to. I have no access to any files, settings, orders, or whatever it is that I've seen several people to use to solve this problem.

I tried to restart my computer to see if I would be directed to the installation, but it just showed me the screen connection again.

Any help? Again, I don't have no access to an account, which means that I have no access to files, settings or controls.

Hello

In this case, reinstalling Windows would be incomplete or corrupted. Then I suggest you to reinstall the operating system once more and check if it helps.

Please post back with the State of the question and we will be happy to help you further.

Hello burtech, I wouldn't recommend using the HP backup program or the Windows backup program to backup my system.

There have been many members who have reported many problems, try to restore the files by using these programs.

I suggest you to acquire a hard drive image software. These programs can do a mirror image of the hard drive and save it in another location, on a second hard drive or an external hard drive.

If the system is damaged, just insert a CD in the optical drive and boot the system, select the hard disk image and restore the system as it was when the hard disk images has been created. It takes less than 30 minutes, depending on the speed of your system.

You would need to make a new hard disk image from time to time, according to the Windows updates or other changes to your system. I usually do one at least every week, or more often if necessary.

I use Acronis for that purpose, but there are several other very good programs that do the same thing as well.

    Hi Stacie,

    1. how many user accounts that you use?

    2. do you have administrative privileges for the current user account?

    3. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    Follow the mentioned methods:

    Method 1:

Run Windows Media Player troubleshooting utility library:

    Method 2:

  • Kiosk with automatic Windows XP (other user) connection mode

    Greetings,

I'm having some trouble getting kiosk mode to work with automatic sign next to windows xp.

Kiosk mode works if I disable autologon (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231), but when it enabled it gives an error saying that all desktop computers are in use.

The strange thing is that when I enable autologon and I manually log on with another user the username that is customized to the kioskmode can I disconnect and reconnect on the desktop, all I want. But at the point where I have activate automatic login with another user that the custom user name he gives all desktop computers are currently in use error.

Does anyone know if the Kiosk mode with automatic logon to another user than the user username custom work?

    Thanks in advance,

    Bram

Might work if you turn off automatic logon, and then use the view GPO to disable the SSO, then allow the user to connect with the name of user and password you want.

I'm trying to configure the control perental on the computer and I can't work, how restict access to the file

I don't think that the Parental controls in Vista can control access to the individual files of the system (programs, a lot of things on the internet, but not this one).

If you have Vista Business, Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate, you can use the encryption of files to block access to the files/folders that you don't want other users to be able to access (except for administrators who can override the settings, but you'll know).  Here's how: http://computershopper.com/software/howto/encrypting-files-in-windows-vista.

If you do not have these versions, try Lock Folder http://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/ (the free version should do the trick if the paid version has more options).  Still, it uses encryption to block access.

    I hope this helps.
