Windows 8 will be not updated

My hard drive had to be replaced in my computer. He was initially under windows 8.1, and all updates were up-to-date.  It is on a 64 bit system. The seller has not received my disc of windows 8 and windows 7 pro has been installed.

I have re-installed windows 8 pro and begun the process of updating the widows to restore to windows 8.1.  I was not able to be updated, as when the updates are installed, I am instructed to restart the computer. After the reboot, the updates are configured. During the configuration process, I get the message "configuration of the Windows updates failed, changes back, do not turn off your computer."

Updates get to where all of a sudden, a message appears updates failed, he could go back to before you try to install the updates.

I tried unchecking and manually install the updates. This latest effort, I unchecked all but the 5 latest updates, but where they installed quickly, and the computer must be restarted, a new message says "keep your pc connected until this is done, and it has started to install again to install all updates 171.» After he installed all the updates 171, at a time gave a message says "configuration of Windows updates failed, changes in recovery, do not turn off your computer."

It is a vicious circle, and I can't get windows 8 update to 8.1 as before. Any help would be appreciated.

Please run a check of system files (SFC) & DISM (if necessary) If you are on Windows 8 or higher

  • Windows 7 will be not updated after clean install

I recently acquired a Vista laptop that I improved with a SSD and Windows 7 Professional.  After installation without incident on a new SSD and activation, I discovered that Win7 does not refresh the console update continues just search for updates and the CPU activity revolves around 50%.  I've linked several fixes on this site and others with no luck.

I'm not a PC expert, but I (FINALLY) know what caused this problem and how to solve it!  , But first of all note that this is the solution for my WINDOWS 7 64-bit Home Premium just after a clean installation.  I don't know if this plan works for 32-bit systems or other 7s to win, but novel with minor changes and some research...?

The part of Windows 7 that search updates would normally take 24 to 48 hours to complete his research.  You can tell that you have this problem, while you are waiting for the update search by CTRL-ALT-DEL, start the Task Manager, then watch TAB PROCESS, then click: show processes from all users.  Look down the list until you find a SVCHOST. EXE running by the SYSTEM which uses 50% or more of CPU and a large piece (73%) of memory.  Then, go to the window Windows Update of the control panel and it say to never look updates.  Then return to the Task Manager and KILL the big 50% fat process that you just found.

MS produced a patch (patches of 2 k) that you can't normally without an update.  There is a way to download these files from 2 k, but then...

You cannot install them normally without using WUSA (the stand-alone installation of Windows Update program).  And if you try to use it to install the patches, WUSA must begin a new search for 48 hours for updates before installing anything.  It is a circular trap!

Look for these two files in your DOWNLOADS folder.  Copy them to your DESKTOP.

Now to install them, you must use the stand-alone Installer, WUSA, BUT you must FORCE IT to do quite simply without looking for always.  Here's how:

First of all, copy the following line exactly and completely:

    Click the start planet;

    Click in the search programs and files;

    Type: RUN

(Make sure that you run as administrator)

    Click on the RACE to the top of the page, then right click on it and select PASTE;

    Replace Edmund regardless of your username;

Press ENTER and let it roll.  After the installation is done, then...

FIRST: Uninstall IE8 and IE7 if they are installed.  Back to all the way back to IE6.  You want other patches before you get those.  Reboot after doing this.

You are not the first to ask questions about how to upgrade a clean Windows XP - not even installation in the last week. In fact, I will just cut and paste my answer here... here:

Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).

    Install it.

    Reset.

Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.

Back - let everyone know if it worked for you.

  • Windows 10 we could not update the system reserved partition

I have windows 7 Home Edition premium, no idea why it says windows 10 we could not update the partition system reserved when I try and update?

    • Make sure you have enough disk space.
    • Although the recommended minimum requirements are 16 GB (32-bit), 20 GB (64-bit), if you upgrade from a previous version of Windows or a previous version, you will need to have at least 40-50 GB of free space to accommodate the installation files.
    • First run Disk Clean up.
    • Archive files rarely used to an external hard drive.
    • Consider data synchronization to OneDrive or similar online service and do a custom installation.
    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • Do a clean boot, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both and try the installation again.
    • If you update via Windows Update, when download reaches 100%, disconnect the Internet LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, and proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (e.g., USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripheral non-essential).

  • Windows Media Center Guide not updated lists of TV of Zap2It passed tuesday.21.07.15

Overview: Windows Media Center (WMC) is provided to ads of TV via the WMC Guide, of Zap2It.  If you go on the website of Zap2It TV listings *, about 2 weeks ago from future TV ads.  When the WMC Guide is set to day, & functions correctly, these same 2 weeks of TV programs are downloaded into WMC.  If we could use the Zap2It site to schedule the recording of television programs, then we would not need the WMC Guide to download.

It is very early Sunday asof this announcement; the WMC Guide didn't really update for about 9 days... There's only TV ads through Tuesday, in about 3 days.  The update of the WMC Guide seems to work fine, it connects with the site or the source or whatever/where he gets the Guide of... but they say, "The PSE Listing is already up to date", even if, obviously, is NOT "up-to-date".  I'm getting now, 'you only have 3 days of registration!, you must update the Guide!' scare-messages every time I go to the WMC, and I click on update the Guide, but all also when I manually run it, just as when WMC runs automatically update Guide, it isn't actually updated!

To be clear: I use Win7Pro64bit; -ALL-all the updates, Windows software & if not, are daily checked & constantly kept up to date; There has been no changes to the computer, & it works like a dream; WMC works the same, the update of the WMC Guide works exactly the same, the only exception being that, "that the EPG Listings package is already updated" thing, when he has actually updated the WMC Guide.

So Please do not post those standard, boilerplate answers for updating Windows & or by disabling caches & or such other hoax explosive...  The problem is almost certainly with the Microsoft, Windows, WMC, Zap2It interface.

You can go on the site Web of Zap2It * yourself!, go!, see for yourself!, the next 2 weeks of TV programs are here!...

... then, why are not those TV ads- already & always present -are actually downloaded to WMC?, why isn't the WMC Guide updated?

    ... Thank you!

  • Windows media player is not updated the name of the file

Hello, I have a question for windows 12.0.7601.181.50 on windows media player 7, the problem is when a music file such as ' [Dubstep] Skrillex - in to kill him ' to ' Skrillex - in to kill him.

It does not update the file name in the selection of windows media player.

The WMP library works in mysterious ways and causes confusion - it took me a while to get the hang of it. WMP takes the news of the title of 'details' 'properties' rather than the file name, so I think that's what you need to change.

Open the file in the wmp Library pane - right-click and select "open file location" then right-click again and look at the properties of 'details' tab to see his name here.

You can actually rename the track in wmp (best place to do it - it will not mess up your library) hover over the title, right-click again and choose edit it - the title can now be changed.

Let us know how it goes - R

  • Windows 8 applications do not update?

    I installed Windows 8 yesterday (October 27, 2012).

Interesting... Microsoft still does not seem to include seamless integration / implementation and has some problems serious with the abandonment of recognized standards (POP3!) but that's another story.

In the App Store, I had six applications that said that they had updates available. I selected all the and choose install.

Nothing seems to happen... Green dots fly in the upper part of the screen, but nothing seems to be updated.

My system date is correct, time is OK, everything is fine. I updated an application after the first installation of Windows 8, and he updated very quickly.

These applications do not appear to be updated.

Any ideas? The updater is so bogged down X number of people trying to update the same apps at the same time?

I'm on Verizon FIOS and my internet speed is pretty darn good (download speed 77,96 Mbps upload speed 48,52 Mbit/s to Virginia to test the server in Pennsylvania) so I don't think that is the question.

Here's how I solved my problem.

The goal is to remove or rename the "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" file located in c:/Windows. Usually, it seems that windows will not let you change the folder because other services are constantly using it. So I booted in safe mode.
    (1) search apps for 'run '.
    (2) enter "msconfig" in the box run and click on enter
    3) go to the tab startup and check the option "Safe Boot". Click ok and then click on the option "Exit and restart" after that.
    (4) once you have started using safe, go to C:/windows of your applications to search for 'Computer' and navigate well the c: / drive.
    (5) you should see a folder called "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution". Rename it to 'SoftwareDistributionOld' to be on the safe side in the case where you still need.
    (6) repeat steps 1-3 to return to the secure boot option. This time, uncheck and then quit and restart.
When you start to save, open the app Store of Windows and click on the update notification. I hope that you will be able to attend your applications up-to-date perfectly!
