Windows App Store available to all users of a computer.

After I download an app on the App Store, I don't find this application to put on-screen of metro on the other usernames on the computer.  How can I make the apps I've downloaded available to all users on the computer?

This answer is useful, but it seems to imply that each user who wants to use the app will have their own personal copy of the program on the same computer.

It is good that an app should only be bought once for any device/computer/tablet, but it's still pretty stupid if on a given device, we still have wind upward with multiple copies of the app!

Hello

Each app is installed only once on each computer.

When the administrator installs the application in a different user on the same computer account, giving that user access to the one already installed app and places a copy of the files of configuration apps in this personal user files so that the user can configure the application for their own personal needs.

Basically, the problem is that I created another user account, but only a few random apps appear on it and I was REALLY looking FORWARD to having to reinstall some programs + 50 so my computer can function normally on my secondary account.  I am able to find a lot of programs installed by snooping around in Explorer and have been able to run some by creating shortcuts, but many of them (Spybot, Itunes, Google Chrome, THE LIST GOES ON!) nothing do when the .exe is open and are unusable (on this account).
Also, I want to say there is no page support for Windows 7 that cover this topic (that I could find by using the provided search engine), and the more those (as for windows 2000) do not apply because they tell you to move files Windows has more, but it is a known problem and Microsoft should incorporate a simple way to add or remove accounts without uninstall/install programs just to be able to check a box... _ Perhaps there could even be an option for this in a very obvious place, as installed programs list of the filth or user account settings.

Any application that is properly designed to work on Windows 7
either would give the person making the installation option to
make the application available to all users, or do it automatically.
by default. It is entirely the responsibility of an application
programmers and out of Microsoft's control. Thus, the easiest way, of
of course, is to use an application that is designed for a multi-user operating system.
But, unfortunately, this is not always an option, where companies must rely on
    existing proprietary applications.

If you install the legacy application places its shortcuts
only in the start of the person performing the installation, all the
You may need to do is to move these Start Menu entries to the same
    location in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program
folder and/or the C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop folder.

In addition, such an incompatible application can offer additional
    "challenges:

You may experience problems if the software has been designed to
Win9x / Me, or if it was intended for Windows NT / 2 K/XP, Vista/Win7, but was
poorly designed. Quite simply, the application 'knows' how
manage individual user with different security permissions profiles
    e going to
'banned' sections of the Windows registry or Windows protected
    system folders.

For example, the saved data is often stored in a subfolder under the
folder of the application in C:\Program Files - a place where it doesn't
the inexperienced user or limited should never have write permissions.

It may even be that the software requires 'write' access to the parties
the registry or the files/folders to systems protected are not normally
accessible to regular users. (He * didn't * happen if the application is)
correctly written.) If this does not prove that that is the case, however, you
often left with three options: either grant the required users
privileges of senior access (either as users with power or local
Administrators), explicitly grant privileges for normal users
the relevant records and/or parts or the registry or replace the
request by another who has been properly designed especially for
    WinNT / 2 K/XP/Vista/Win7.

In addition, here are some tips suggested, in response to a
another post, MS - MVP Kent W. England:

"If your game or your application works with administrator accounts, but not with."
limited accounts, you can set it to allow limited users to access to the
folder Program files with 'change' ability rather than 'read' that
    is the default value.

    C:\>Cacls "Program Files\appfolder" /e /t /p user: c

where "appfolder" is the folder where the application is installed.

If you want to undo these changes, then run

    C:\>Cacls "Program Files\appfolder" /e /t /p user: r

NOTE: On Win7 Icacls.exe gives more control.

If you still have a problem with the delivery of the program or save the settings
on limited accounts, you may need to change the permissions in the registry
keys. Run regedit.exe and go to HKLM\Software\vendor\app, where
the key of the Publisher of the software used to your own
program. Change the permissions on this key to allow users full control. »

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/1013642

But I need to fix for all users on a computer without logging on each account on each computer. My challenge was to log on as an administrator and change the following key of the overall system instead:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\.PDF

This only happens when you set Firefox as the default browser and Firefox thinks that there is currently no application PDF file handles.

    Hello

Workaround for this would be to create a screenshot in the App Store, load the screenshot in Paint and and crop the image of what you want.

There is a new keyboard shortcut in Windows 8 to create screenshots.

    1. press Windows + PRTSCN key. This will create a screenshot and automatically put my Pictures\Screenshots in your folder.

    2. open the screenshot in Paint and use the Select + tools to harvest.

  • Windows App Store crashes.

I have an old Samsung XE500T of one month running Windows 8.

I got it I noticed that when I try to connect to App Store, I am told that I am not connected to the internet, 50% of the time resulting in hanging.
Initially, I spoke to MS and was told by a technician he could fix it for $ 99.  I refused, because it is a new device and expect it to work properly without additional expenses.
I then talked to Samsung and was told that because the question relates only to Windows, it is a problem of Ms.
I installed all the updates and restored the system a couple of times.
Please advise me a solution to this problem... I'm tired of chasing my tail on a question which I'm sure you can solve easily.

I solved this PROBLEM. At least for me. It was a trip of 3 days. Argh!

    The result is the following:

Kill and store store task list broker.

Rename the folder to Cache CacheOld to:

    C:\Users\(your User Account) \AppData\Local\Packages\WinStore_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState

(Your WinStore_gobblygook can be another bunch of gobbblygook)

Create an empty folder called Cache.

    Solved! For me anyway.

    Enjoy,

    PS

I've been to this day. I read all the articles and post everywhere. I have updated the graphics drivers, the value of date and time, run wsreset, sfc /scannnow, created the new user account (the store works for the new account), app store, etc, etc, etc...

Today, I just started to dig around and look at the dates. I don't have the logs to back this up, but I think that I broke the store with CCleaner. I don't know exactly when the store broke then it is a better estimate, but it makes some sense because Ccleaner cleans the cache store.

I also recently installed Tor Browser, but my little finger, is that it was completely independent.

I could create a user sandbox and try to break the Store with Ccleaner to confirm. But honestly, I'm tired of this little adventure.

  • How Windows App Store does not start (I tried "everything")

It's just my story. The OP may be completely different.

The research on the net I saw that many people suffer the problem described, that is to say the App Store apps and win 8 crashing. So I was hoping that a solution could be found.

That's all just amazing! I have the same problem with exactly the same results. It doesn't seem to be a solution without refreshing. I can't access the Windows store, I'm stuck with Windows 8 and cannot move to 8.1. I tried several times to pass to 8.1 when I could go to the store, but it failed every time with an error code OxC1900101-Ox20017. Any suggestions as to what this error is and how to fix it. So, I seem to be stuck with Windows 8 until Windows 9 comes out. I am not convinced that this will present all kinds of new questions. I can't understand why Microsoft cannot fix this easily because he seems to have been going on for at least a year. I hate the idea of how much time I wasted on this. My only saving grace is that I can return to my laptop with Windows 7... happiness!

  • How to use DO NOT when searching the 8 Windows App Store?

I have no problem with the charm of the App Store search, but I don't want to see the games, and it seems that the store is infested with them.  The problem is, I can't find any way to get the search charm accept Boolean values in any form.  (It seems that Windows 8 is dumbing down of the interface, remove features and back to BACK, get people to remember text commands.)

How not to use with the charm of research?

Before that, how to search for nothing _except_ games?

    -Ken

The display is a bit better, if you select downloads, but then 'NO' gets ignored and all it lists is games, exactly the opposite of what I wanted.

You can't go there.   This means the site: downloads. Microsoft.com which exclude of course website: apps.microsoft.com you need to search for what you want.

So unless you're facetious "Gets a little better" I don't know why you find it "barely usable".  You fail to capitalize the NON?

    http://onlinehelp.Microsoft.com/en-us/Bing/ff808438(d=robot).aspx

You must capitalize the NOT and OR operators. Otherwise, Bing will ignore them as stop words, which are producing generally words and numbers that are omitted to speed up full-text search.

    http://search.Microsoft.com/en-us/results.aspx?setlang=en-us&q=not+games+site%3Aapps.Microsoft.com

50 results per page.   No games.

Ditto when I click in the entry box and choose to search the web instead.

    http://www.bing.com/search?q=not%20Games%20Site%3Aapps.Microsoft.com&form=BMME

50 results per page.   No games (with the exception of a few ad above links)

    So that's another advantage of Microsoft Search: no advertising.   ; }

The software depending on what user id, it is installed under allows access to the scanner/printer to one or more users.  The scanner works with Windows Paint software for all three nicknames.

HP response is that some user control prevents the scanner software, who used to work on all three nicknames on the computer, which now works on one or more of the users.  They couldn't tell me which user control need changing.

    Hey Azad,

Faced with this problem with a particular application?

This problem may occur because some of the incorrect settings or due to some corrupt files app. I would suggest trying the following steps and check:

    Method 1:

Run the apps troubleshooting utility that can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings. Here is a link to download the Troubleshooter:

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=268423

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, I suggest you to reset the Windows Store cache and check. Press the Windows key + R, type WSReset and press ENTER. When the Windows store cache has been reset the app store of Windows should open automatically.

    Method 3:

If the problem persists, try to re - create the AUInstallAgent folder:

    1. Navigate to the Windows folder. (located on the drive where Windows is installed)
    2. Looking for a folder named AUInstallAgent.
    3. If it is missing from the Windows folder, create a new folder named AUInstallAgent.

Try these steps and let us know the results.
