  • "windows cannot read the disk in drive F: / '.

Windows no longer recognizes when I insert a blank disc in my computer. I want to save my pictures using Windows Photo Gallery, but only to pass messages to insert a disc, even if it is already in. When I go to 'my computer', click the icon of the cd player it just says: "windows is unable to read the disc. Is there a fix windows or is it my drive?

Try a different brand of disc.

You can run Microsoft 'fix it' utility to control the cd player.

Also uninstall and reinstall the driver from the cd rom by Device Manager.

    Good luck.

  • Error: Windows cannot access the disk.

I burned a dvd backup of certain data (downloads, bookmarks, photos etc.) files using windows drag and drop in the dvd player.

The burn has been successful I was able to use it immediately, however, on the second (and subsequent) attempts to access the files burnt a windows error appears indicating that windows cannot access the disk.

Like all other discs are able to be accessible to all without problems, there is no problem with dvd players?

Please let know us that it's the only backup I have these files.

  • Windows cannot access the disk

whenever I tried to insert a dvd disc the message "windows cannot access the disk" is shown in this dvd, there's some data. Whenever I check the properties, the size is displayed.

If the DVD does not work with other disks and other DVD works with current DVD player, then the problem is with the DVD itself.

  • Windows cannot read the disc in the drive E:\

When I put a CD - R or DVD-R in the E: drive, I get a message "make sure the disc uses a format windows recognizes." If the drive is not formatted, you must format it before you use it. »
I use new formatted discs, also when I put a CD - R in the drive E has some files word on it, it will start and I can see all the files and I can edit, print and save, but I can't add another word file, although there is plenty of space on the disk.
I think that if a disc is not formatted when I put it in drive E I should get a pop-up with the option to format.
I am running Vista Home Premium - SP-1

  • Satellite A300 - cannot read the second HARD drive

    Greetings from the Spain,

I got 1 month there is a serious problem with my laptop (which is 5 months old), associated with crcdisk.sys.

I gave up after several hours studying, and send the computer serving techniques. (Vista was does not load and no recovery was possible)
Technical services changed 1 hard drive and the motherboard (don't ask me why)
This computer cams with 2 HD (these 2 devices)

The first has a recovery partition.
The problem now is that I see the second HD (D :) but I can't read or access it.)
However, McAfee, it can scan and I can see the names of files (they were there before sending it to T.Service) during the scan.

The only solution I have Toshiba is "send it back", but with the previous experience I've had with this guy, maybe now they put a new keyboard and wait another month...

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    _Update_

Now I can read the second disc of Internet expolrer..., i.e. D:\documents... I read a few videos, I got there and seems to work.
However, I cannot read with ordinary windows Explorer or cannot write files from any program.

BTW. I can access from the Explorer, but just the files, i.e. d:\documents\letters, but not to the root?

You have installed the laptop with the recovery disk? Try this!

What operating system do you use? If you are using Vista control this information from Toshiba:

    Hello

    I have a question.
Your drive is missing from the 'My computer' zone or the Device Manager displays a disk error?

If the drive can be recognized in the BIOS, so I guess that the entries in the Windows registry are damaged or not right.
I found this Microsoft Knowledge base and I think he should solve your problem.

  • X 220-windows cannot read the type of machine

My X 220 recently had the motherboard replaced at a local authorized Lenovo service provider. They were only supposed to replace the fan but the connector broken speaker when they have been to remove the Board of Directors. Currently, Windows is not able to read the type of machine. System update does not work because of this. CPU - Z and hwinfo64 show the kind of machine that qqqqCTO as if she was a Virgin in the BIOS. Type of machine is properly in the BIOS correctly, but they left the serial number of the empty system. Could that be the cause?

In case someone else runs into this problem: I solved the problem by running the BIOS update utility and using the option to change the model number. There is a note that says to delete what's there and leave the field blank to restore the factory setting. That did the trick.

  • I get windows cannot verify the updates and error 80070424 and tried repeatedly the solutions suggest you and get always the same cannot verify the icon

error 80070424 message and we tried all of the solutions you propose to the admin. tools and without success

I suspect you got error 0 x 80070005 only because you don't raise invites http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/181765-elevated-command-prompt.html
Even if you are on the standard Vista admin account ever run the console administrator rights. To run the console with admin rights, it requires extra tip (details you have in above links)

My suggestion: just run 'MS Fix it' KB971058 in aggressive mode - it can re-register all WU, modules of BITS and more... If you are lucky it is only conventional option it should solve your problem. If this does not resolve, go to Start > Search > services.msc
and check below services exist, have correct parameters and work

    BITS : automatic (extended), began

Windows Update : automatic (extended), began

    Windows Modules Installer : manual

If you have an other parameters you have to fix it. If you can't change the setting or any service do not exist, you must fix a service (read below)
