Windows Desktop Search is not working properly

For some time after 4 days my computer will be slow and does not respond well. If I stop and start again, a box appears saying that desktop search is not working properly and options to stop the computer, reboot and rebuild the index.  After that performance improves for a few days.  What is the problem? Your help is appreciated.

Looks like the indexing service is not running, or stops for some reason any.  We will check the indexing service to see if it is set to automatically run first.
Restart the Windows Search service
Click Start, type services in the start search box and press ENTER.
List programs, click Services.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
Scroll down and locate the service which is the Windows Search label.
Right-click the service and then click Properties.
Set the startup type: automatic (delayed start).
Click Start to start the service, and then click OK.

Rebuild the database that is used by the search indexer
Click Start, the index in the search box and press ENTER.
List programs, click on Indexing Options.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
Click Advanced.
Click on rebuild and then click OK to the warning that appears.
Click OK to close the Indexing Options.
Note: From now on, the system must re - index documents and electronic mail. However, when indexing is complete, it is likely that the performance of the system will return to acceptable levels.

Run a file system check to ensure that no file system is damaged:
To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
At the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:
sfc/scannow
When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved.

    You can make bulk changes to file attributes by using the Attrib command via the command prompt: attrib - a [drive:] [path] [filename]

    You can see the options by typing ' attrib /? "at the command prompt.

    Hello! I have that I use search criteria to search for data in DB. But the search will not work correctly.

    To do this, you will need to change skin. Depending on your version (that you don't tell us), this is more or less work.

    I hope that you use 11.1.2.2.0 as you can add the descriptors for the property resource bundle skin file. This file is created when you add a skin to your application. If you are using an earlier version, you may need to implement a ListResourceBundle and add it to the definition of the skin to the Trinity - config.Xml.

    I had these problems and many others using DVDs to make the backup of files.

    Please save you time sitting in front of the computer, the power to the machine with the DVD and the aggravation of not working do not after all.
    Invest in an external hard drive for backup of files. It is the most effective way.
    These days, a 1 TB external hard drive can be had for less than $100. It's money well spent.

    a and now the Windows logo key, type R to open the run.
    Open C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\yourname corresponding to your name as shown on the top right side of the start menu

    b - remove the Windows Sidebar folder

    Method 2:

    a using Windows-R to open the run, then run regedit

    b on the left side, navigate to this path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\

    c check if you see a graphic small subkey between \Zones and the 0 subkey. If so, remove it.  Restart your computer and check how your Gadget are displayed correctly.

    CPU meter icon that shows the CPU usage and load will appear ugly/blurry when you increase the size of the font in the middle.
     
    The problem may have arose the possible reasons:
     
    1. all by increasing the size of the font, the user can enabled the option of Let me choose a level of scaling for my monitors.
     
    2 and the option to change the size of the text was disabled due to the previous option being checked.
     
    As the gadget supports only two sizes and because of the options as there are bad for you.
     

    I suggest you make changes only with the change only the text size.

  • Windows 7 Search does not work - only index several elements then stops

    Hi, my first post here.

    I am running windows 7 64 bit on my new PC with all the latest updates installed. I have problems with the windows search tool. The tool detects files but not others and indexing is incomplete. I've been to the dialogue "indexing options" and have rebuilt the index several times and I even changed the location but it indexes only several hundred articles (normally 250-350) then stops and it is. I have thousands of photos and music files and the search tool is not find an any of them, but interesting, that it seems to not find what seems like all my program files and folders, what any of the other locations, even though I checked all the places I want to be pegged as photos, music, videos, etc in the "indexing options" dialog box.

    My computer is a Dell and I had a problem with it a copuple weeks back and the operating system must be reinstalled and I wonder if this could have something to do with it. Other than this problem, everything is fine and I am very happy. I have the latest version of McAfee antivurus and did a complete analysis of the system and have no problem there either...

    I really like to get the search engine works again, at this point when I do a ctrl + F for find, he can't find anything or even appear to be working away or by train. If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.

    Please let me know if you have any ideas that I really want to get this function to work.

    I found the answer. It's a problem of incompatibility with McAfee Security Suite 2010, factory installed by Dell.

    I've tried EVERYTHING! Nothing has worked, search forums etc and after all that I uninstalled McAfee now indexing and seraching is fantastic work.

    I'm very frustrated with windows 8. It is not that there are so many problems; I had XP, I'm used to it. Frustrating, this is how it is difficult to solve or fix the problem. I spent hours online reading and download, the setting of the obscure details...  That's enough I was forced to buy this when they gave up that bad. I would like to at least it work. Here are a few things I do deal with - please help me solve this problem.

  • Modules window opens but does not work properly

    It started a year ago when I got FF 2.0 and I thought it would be itself correct when I updated to 3.6, but it didn't.

    I have several add-ons that I wanted to delete. When I click on uninstall, they stopped working and the window Add on said that they would be removed to restart FF, but they do not and are still visible after a year or two.

    I have no script and wanted to turn once to see if it interfered with another program. By clicking on the button disable nothing to do, so I have to click on uninstall then it stops working, and then click on disable to activate again.

    If I click on Options onno the script, it crashes FF and I have to use the Task Manager to get out of the FF.

    Is there a way to put this back in working order?

    Method 1: Make sure that the CD - R or CD - RW drive is recognized as a recordable device

    1. click on start and then click on computer.
    2 right-click the CD - R or CD - RW drive and click Properties, and then look for the recording tab.

    Method 2: It is not usually necessary to adjust the burn speed unless you encounter problems at the fire; in this case reduce the burn speed may fix the problem. This setting applies to all burners that you use with your computer.

  • Bridge of search is not working properly

    I just downloaded bridge CC and when using research it is not find anything or it finds only a few files. I have my previous bridge CS 6 there was no problem with that. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, but it did not help.
