Windows - display driver stopped responding__

Whenever I try to run a screensaver on my computer, I get this message after a few minutes.

Windows - display driver stopped responding
! The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally.  Save your work and restart the system to restore the full display functionality. The next time you restart the computer, a dialog box will appear giving you the ability to upload data about this failure to microsoft.

I have to reboot the system when this window opens and everything on my monitor is really large and discolored. I tried everything I can think of. Even put it in safe mode and changing the properties.

Easy... I also had this problem. I searched for hours and finally came across a post... All you need to do is update your graphics card driver. to do this, you will need to go to the site of the manufacturer of your... (for this part your yourself). Simply search for your card and have a easy exxecutable file to download & install the drivers. Mine was Intel\ / http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx?lang=eng

  • Display driver stopped responding and has recovered

    Product: HP Pavilion dv7-6015tx Entertainment Notebook PC

    OS: Windows 7 32-bit

    Status: Clean installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 - bit Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Hello

    I had several cases where the computer seems 'lag '.

    then, after a few flickers on my screen, Windows would give the error:

    "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered."

    There are still effects after this message.

    When dragging windows, scrolling top-down graphics etc. continue to Flash.

    This isn't all in hardcore, the GPU was not operating at high temperatures.

    Interestingly, I don't have this problem when I'm in the middle of hardcore games.

    The CPU was not under heavy load, the CPU was not working at high temperatures either.

    I checked the temperature with thermal control (HWiNFO32).

    I have a lot of resources, 1223MB of RAM to spare.

    I also have lots of HARD disk space too.

    I installed the latest version of the graphics driver for my product: AMD graphics driver high definition,.

    but the problem persists.

    Help, please!

    -John

    I understand your frustration, I had the same problem, I really did, for centuries!

    Try this:

    Do not go on the AMD website for a video driver. those who do not work properly for some reason any...

    Download on the HP site specific to your HP product, for example, I have a dv7 6015tx with 32-bit windows.

    Then I'd go to: dv7-6015tx drivers

    If you still have the drivers on AMD ATI Web site, uninstall them, restart.

    Go to the HP site where you can find specific drivers for your product HP, installation, restart.

    It seems trivial, but it's IMPORTANT and most of the time to restart after uninstalling and installing.

    It worked for me, hopefully it will erase your questions, good luck.

  • Satellite A500 - display driver stopped responding

    Hello

    3 weeks ago, I bought a brand new Toshiba A500. I post here because I found no useful solution.
    Here are the specs:

    Processor: intel core i3 M330 2.13 GHz
    Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M (1024 MB)
    Hard drive: MJA2320BH G2 (320 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA-II)
    RAM: 2 X 2 GB DDR3 - 1066 DDR3 SDRAM (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-18 @ 457 MHz)
    Audio: Realtek ALC272 @ Intel Ibex Peak PCH
    System: Windows 7 64-bit, made at Toshiba

    The question is: random situations, the screen is in turn black for a few seconds, then the message is pop up saying "display driver stopped responding and has recovered - display driver NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver, Version 187.98 stopped responding and has successfully recovered" It happens several times a day.

    Display driver sometimes can not be recovered and the system hangs and must be reset. Problem occur on the first day after five minutes of use (when it was not install anything without OS).

    Problem always occurs during normal operation with applications (MS office, firefox, etc.). It's completely random - there are no two the same situations - so when I look at youtube on full screen hd movies it crashes several times, but when I restart the OS and to play the same movie, it works properly.

    Causes of demand, this problem is called TDR (timeout detection and recovery).
    This application GPU reset when get failed for 2 sec. But in a register of Windows7 have entered controlled this application.

    Since I tried following solutions:
    -Updated BIOS.
    -System of resettlement;
    -Display driver update to version 197.16;
    -Check the temperature on the graphics card (when the problem occurs on the graphics card temperature does not exceed 47deg and 36deg processor);
    -Java Update (old version of can of Java causes some device problems);
    -Updated adobe (even Java);
    -Disable aero;
    -Updates of Windows 7;
    -Disable audio (realtek card);

    None of them works.

    The problem occurs during the games (i.ex. The Witcher). I can play 8 hours and nothing weird happens.
    I noticed that this problem occurs also during opening some applications or enter new tasks (when demand for energy is growing rapidly).

    I'm asking this is a driver problem or should I return the laptop to the service.
    I suspect that the problem may be large difference of voltage on the graphics card but I can not verified that.

    If anyone has experience this problem, I'd appreciate any help.

    Hello

    I had the same problem with my A500-1dn equipped GT 230 M, the message, the display driver stopped responding. I've updated the video card driver from nvidia.com 3 weeks ago and since that time, it ' s gone (hopefully forever).

  • Pavilion15 - ab123ur (P7R37EA): "display driver stopped responding and recovered."

    Hello! I have a problem with my laptop video card. The error "display driver stopped responding and has recovered" appers then I'm playing video games or working on my graphic editing software.

    I tried to google the problem. Tried to reinstall the reivers video, to recover the BONES with the backup, but nothing helped. It seems that the problem appeared first, when it was a huge update of the windows like 1-2 months ago, but I don't know. Maybe it's not soft problem at all.

  • Pavilion 6154ea: Radeon display error - display driver stopped responding and has recovered

    Received a UN expected error in the web search, actully screen off for a few seconds before receiving an error on the display driver stopped responding and recovery.

    Took a glance in the peripheral section where the 2nd adapter displays without any sign of error.

    After recently installing a new SDS moving from the HARD drive, reinstall windows 7 etc via the updates and the order to make recovery disc the laptop because I used receive a blue screen error frequently, so that the display driver does not not error occasionally when using the design programs.  Therefore assumed, needed a new HDD/SSD and factory restore.

    -Laptop computer has been cleaned withdrawal because keyboard, frame etc. with solvents as a cleaner. Therefore cannot be over heating the fan works hard to due and SSD.

    -Power supply has been connected to the time

    N ' was not overclocked as it is when using disk HARD aswell

    It wasn't until today where it happened again, without the blue screen though. So decided I would look at him and realized it is a common problem with the ATI drivers, when I assumed it was a HARD drive failure all along.

    This time the screen turned off for a few seconds, more then previously which is a little disturbing. Was only using a search engine with no program in the background. Infact havn't got round to reinstall files and software so the laptop is very clean and basic and works so don't know why I feel this fast.

    Need to know your opinion on this please, may not know... (Radeon HD 6490M)

    Thank you

    Hi @skibbles,

    Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

    I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question in the subject of your HP Pavilion dv7-6154ea Entertainment Notebook and problems with the display driver stopped responding. I recommend to restore the default BIOS settings. You could restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings. This resets the hardware parameters and contributed to others.

    Here is a link to test the material if you need it. It checks the pieces to see if something is a failure.

    Please let me know how it goes.
