Windows displays different processor on my Satellite M115-S3144

I just bought a Toshiba Satellite M115 - S3144:
http://www.toshibadirect.com/TD/B2C/pdet.to?SEG=HHO&poid=351572
http://www.circuitcity.com/SSM/Toshiba-Satellite-14-1-widescreen-notebook-PC-M115-S3144/SEM/RPSM/OID/160477/catOid/-12963/rpem/CCD/ProductDetail.do

and everywhere where I look it says that it is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 1 .6GHz.

My question:
Why Windows tells me I have a T5500 1 .66GHz processor?

Hello

As far as I know as much Toshiba portable computers come with different hardware configurations. I think that, probably, this series of laptop also was delivered with different processors.

Where have you checked CPU properties in windows?
I put t know why Windows shows you this information on the CPU. Perhaps this CPU was installed in the laptop.
I think that if you want to be 100% sure of CPU or other hardware specifications, you can use the diagnostic software freeware like Everest.

  • Device Manager shows two different processors on Satellite P200 - 1 K 9

    Hello
I just bought P200 - 1 K 9 and spotted (Vista 32-bit) Device Manager shows two different processors under the section of processors:

    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7300 @ 2.00GHz
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7700 @ 2.40 GHz CPU

I expected to see the two excatly the same processors here.

Vista recognizes in general CPU core 2 duo 2.4 GHz, BIOS too.
What is on the Device Manager?

Is there something wrong with the CPU? Should I return it better?
Would you please check your processor in Device Manager (start-> right click on computer-> select Properties-> Device Manager) and let me know what you have?

I'll start some live linux CD and check there too.

    Thank you
    Miroslaw

    Hi mate,

the you´ve got problem is not a problem. It s just a simple bug in the Vista Device Manager and hardware abstraction layer.
    Follow these steps:
Remove the CPU from the Device Manager (uninstall just like any other device) and then restart windows. The processor will be indicated correctly next time you reboot the system.

    Welcome them

    Thanks Klaaus

    Hello

This is a bug of Vista ;)
Just remove the processors the Device Manager and reboot the laptop.
After the restart new Vista should recognize and refresh the information in the CPU.

  • Satellite P200 1 FT: different processors in the hardware Manager

In Device Manager, there are two different processors (T7300 2.0 + T7500 2.2) listed. I thought that there must be two of the with each 2.2 GHZ T7500? !!

This is nothing unusual ;) I read that it is a matter of Vista and it can be solved very easily!

You must go to the Device Manager and remove the CPU entry in the Device Manager list.
    Reboot the laptop.

After restarting again the Vista will reinstall the drivers and update the CPU entry in Device Manager

After this short intervention, both processors should be recognized correctly.

  • Strange problem with Toshiba Express Media Player on Satellite M115-S3094

I am facing a strange problem in my Toshiba M115-S3094, which has been pre-installed with Windows XP Media Center edition and which also had the Toshiba Express Media Player.

I had already done a clean install of Vista on it, and then I decided to go back to XP with my recovery DVDs. I did the same procedures of first installation Express Media Player to backup (that I did when I bought the laptop) and then installing Windows XP DVD de Toshiba Recovery XP.

    The steps included:
1 deleted recovery Express media player disk partitions
    2. installed express media player
3 extracted Xp Recovery DVD, by selecting 'Recover without changing the Partitions' (there is no expert mode)

Everything was fine (i.e. installation)... But now, after the turning off my laptop I press the Express Media Center button, the logo "Express Media Player" appears on the screen after loading of closures of laptop for 5 seconds.

I tried to open it again and again, but the logo is displayed for 5 seconds and then my laptop stop...

Laptop works fine when I connect to windows by pressing the power button / stop.

Can someone help me on this strange question... ?

    Hello

The whole story is a bit confusing
First of all, I would like to know if your laptop is already preinstalled with the Media Express Player and if you were able to use it on your laptop in the past.

    Now something about the Express Media Player installation;
In order to use the media functions Express the Mediaplayer Express Recovery CD must be performed before performing the recovery from the recovery DVD-ROM products.

In addition, on the HARD drive should at least 150-200 MB of free space available.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated. To get these free space on party products 3rd HARD drive should be used as Partitions Magic 8.

I m not 100% sure that on error ID system badly but maybe it corresponds to the DMI evil information stored on the motherboard. If we're not DMI, you will not be able to reinstall Express Media player using the recovery media express CD.
In the DMI must be set properly the manufacturing: Toshiba, product name: for example by Satellite M115-S30

Finally and most importantly, I found this thread useful forum on the Media Express recovery procedure:

I need help to find a better way to deal with a prompt to reboot my users get due to a vDesktop in model (Dell 710) host vMotioned to another (Dell 720). The difference between the two is the processor models. The 710 is a Xeon X 5670 and the 720 is a Xeon E5-2667. The two processors use the same .inf (cpu.inf) file and apparently the drivers. Simply, it triggers the installation process of the material causing the Plug and Play Manager to require a restart of the operating system after the installation. The result, I'm wanting just needs that this reboot window displays don't not weither would it by slaughtering the hardware installation process, hide the window of dialogue itself, or any other possible way to configure the system which does not show users. I encountered the same problem and the only solution I've found so far is to start the master on both hosts.  When he started on the two hosts, the message no longer appears when moving the virtual machine back to a host with a different model of CPU.  I have two clusters currently, so I have not tested vMotioning fast machine between hosts with different CPU while it is running.  When I had the chance to test, I'll post my results.

  • I'm a window that has the windows displayed in yahoo mail and hadou and I can click on one of the images of a window and it will restore the window how?

I am in yahoo mail and there is a window that has the windows displayed and I can click on one of the images of a window and it will restore the window how to access this window (size full one who possesses a collection of previous windows in a complete graph/no format)?
The window that I write the topic is a collection of previous windows images in a smaller size.

Firefox has a feature to view all your open tabs in one or more groups of tabs. You can show and hide this screen by pressing Ctrl + Shift + e. Is this the one you see, or something different?

If you ended up with more than a group of tabs and you want to consolidate them, you can drag the thumbnail images all in one group.

More information: use tab groups to organize a large number of tabs.

  • Fatal error of TOSHIBA Power Saver 0x51A on Satellite M115-S3094

    Hello

By the subject, that's the problem. Unfortunately, my computer which is Toshiba M115-S3094 has just recently a fatal error with the Toshiba Power Saver program like 3 days ago. The Toshiba Power Saver not only does not want to work, but it is even more present in the taskbar. First, I went to the properties to be able to restore the program, but nothing helped.

Then I tried to uninstall and then reinstall the program, and he always gave me the same problem with the error: the program ends. Error fatal 0x51A. Right now, my laptop does not on the mode of power supply Toshiba but on common Windows system, such as the presentation or the laptop.

So I need help to restore the Toshiba Power Saver. I run Toshiba M115-S3094 with Windows Media Center Edition.

    Hello

Satellite M115 seems to be a Toshiba laptop because of the 5 at the end of the number.
In this case, you must use the Toshiba on the Toshiba site energy saving us. Did you?

Maybe you used the right utility electricity saver, so possibly that some registry or system files keys are damage in this case install the new OS for the Toshiba Recovery CD would be desirable.

  • Satellite M115-S3094 freezes after RAM upgrade

    Hello

    I just added Corsair - 2 x 2 GB 200 PIN SODIMM DDR2 667 mhz memory to my laptop Satellite M115-S3094.

Earlier I had 512 MB included with the laptop. The problem is that sometimes the computer starts and freeezes, none of the buttons work and I have to hold the button for 10 seconds to turn off and restart the computer. Sometimes I restart 2-3 times until it works.

If there is any problem after commissioning, then I find myself using the laptop for hours like now and I won't have any problem until I restart.
This all started when I upgrded memory. I tried to re install and it did not help.

I would appreciate any help from anyone who has faced such a problem. I also have windows xp home edition.

On the casablenca system, it shows 4 GB but used is only 2 GB. I even deleted one of the sticks, but I still have the same problem.

    Hello

I think that the problem is without a doubt for new modules of memory installed
Maybe the modules aren't 100% compatible or failed modules

I guess the laptop ran correctly with the old module of RAM.
This would confirm my hypothesis and I think you should test the specifications with the other s RAM

    Good bye

  • White screen on Satellite M115

I have a laptop Satellite M115 with 5122 Mb of RAM and 80 GB of HD. I bought it in October 2006.
The screen started to go white with white horizontal lines at the start.

I turned off and swithced on and it was working fine. It was in November 2006.
It happened 6 - 7 times in a period of 4 months, I thought it was a software problem.

So I formatted the system and the problem did not repeat itself.
But in August 2007, the problem started again.
I reported it to TOshiba and was then out of country.

I came back in November 2007 and was again out of country.
The display is now completely empty with a separator.

It works very well with an external monitor.
    Help, please.

    > But this problem has been with all Toshiba Satellite M115 series?
I really don't understand how you came to it. Is that a question or maybe you have some info on a similar question on other Satellite M115 models?

  • Why Vista offers two different processors in my A200 SP?

    Hello world.

I m new here but have a very important question for my new laptop that I just bought. OK here goes if someone can help?

Just bought my new Satellite Pro A200GE - 26 Q Intel centrino computer core 2 duo t7500 2.2 ghz, which came with 2 GB of RAM that I ve already upgraded to 4 GB of RAM, immediately and wow it's such a beautiful machine tosh laptop computers great build!

The problem I have is that when I go into Device Manager and processor link, it shows the two processors, one a T7300 @2. 0 ghz and a @2 T7500. 2 GHz... now I know the speed may be slowed down due to the power save etc, but surely, it should show BOTH seek the SAME IE [email protected] and [email protected] instead of the T7300 above @2. 0 ghz.

Have I sold a laptop with wrong / different processors in? Maybe by mistake and one another thing is RAM shows 3070MB (3 GB) and I know that some systems use the rest but I thought that vista home premium was supposed to show this... I am not upgrading to vista x 64 will make the best use of it, but as I read on many forums when you run on x 64, you have a lot of driver problems and the hassle is not worth. So please help me with this problem of processor.

Can I get a pair? Thanks again.

  • Need drivers for Satellite M115-s3094

    Hello

I have a Satellite M115-s3094, I had problems with my OS which was Windows XP MCE, but I couldn't fix it. So I got fed up and loaded in windows XP Professional, but a lot of my drivers are gone.

I need drivers for Ethernet controller network controller, PCI device, flash memory, USB controller, SM bus controller, video controller... plus I have no sound. It is an Intel centrino duo... as you can see miss me a lot of pilots.

Could someone tell me how can I find out what kind of driver I need and where do you get them from? Win XP SP2 installation would install one of these drivers?

Any help at all would be much appreciated...

    Thank you all...

I have the same problem. I just need the drivers for the Ethernet controller and a PCI device. I guess that the PCI device is the wireless card.
I tried all the drivers on the Toshiba site, but none seems not to work.

    Please help us.

  • Satellite M115-S3094: error - cannot create a D3D Device

    Hello

I accidentally deleted a graphics card driver, but managed to get it back, but before I deleted it I used to play the game (poker 3d) pkr but now when I load it, it comes up with an error message saying ' has not been initialized client - unable to create a--2005530516 D3D Device,--

Do not appear as all my folders on my desktop. The only way I can get this on the screen is by pressing the keys ctrl + alt and delete and then type in the office.

All this started to happen when I tried to connect my laptop to the TV.
I'm on Windows XP media center. It's an a Toshiba Satellite M115-s3094.

Can anyone help please because it drives me crazy that I'm very close to break the laptop computer in frustration.

I don't know the driver of its use as all it says is unknown. If anyone can help or give me an idea on how to solve this problem, I would be very grateful.

    Bravo for your time.

    Hello

Sounds a little like the Direct3D are not enabled in you the graphics settings.

Please, start the DirectX using the dxdiag command and turn on all the 3D settings.

In addition, it would be advisable to delete the installed 3D poker game and then reinstall it again. This should contribute to reconfigure the game graphics settings that are needed to run the game properly.

    Good luck

  • Express on a Satellite M115-S3094 media player controls

I have a Toshiba Satellite m115-s3094 notebook. It came with the express media player feature. It worked when I ordered my playlist in windows media player 11.

Today, the controls do not work at all.
The two buttons above the controls (Internet and Media player) are fine, but I can't control the media player with the express media player controls.

I've switched back to wmp 10, but I can't control it yet. I don't know if the express media player controls can control Media Center or not because I never tried to use it in media center, but the controls don't work not in media center either.

I use a lot of these controls, if anyone can tell me how I can solve this problem.

    @ Gethsemane
Yes, you must use the drivers and the CD of tools & utilities applications delivered. You need all if you want to use all the features of Toshiba laptop.

Have you received a recovery CD? This CD contains the operating system image that contains all the drivers, tools and additional software. Just starting this announcement from CD, you will get full functional OS.

I recently got a laptop from my father and the settings are a bit strange.

My modes standby and Hibernate are also well off and due to the lack of a cooling device, it constantly turns off when I leave.

So whenever I leave, I have to shut down my computer, then restart again and his old fact.
I need to find a way to get my laptop to activate the standby or hibernation mode so I can't go through this process each time.
    Its a Toshiba Satellite M115-S1061.

Also, I checked the options of standby power, and they say the same things as well.

    Hello

The history is confusing for me.
Just a few questions to the beginning:
What operating system do you use?
You use Toshiba power saver or power Windows options?

If you know that this laptop turns off when you leave why do the restart if you know it goes off even when?

You let your laptop with no activity, or you leave while an application is running?
Maybe is related to overheating decommissioning.
