Windows Explorer APPCRASH error

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and started having a weird problem a few nights ago that left me speechless.

All of a sudden last night I got weird Windows unexpectedly message, saying it would disconnect me in less than a minute, which is made, but also to restart my machine.

When I got back to Windows after reboot I got a different error message (I didn't write it, unfortunately) and then after a minute or two the same message being disconnected, and even once, it restarts my system.

When he returned to Windows once everything seemed fine, although the sidebar, where you can put widgets never loaded. Yet, I was able to use iTunes, Firefox, etc. As soon as I opened Windows Explorer and tried to navigate to a specific folder on any of my drives (internal as well as external), however, it would crash Windows Explorer and push me to close the program or find an etc online solution. This is what newspaper said when I chose to view the details of the problem:

My system worked very well and all of a sudden this is happening has begun. I left my PC overnight and just rebooted for the first time, and I'm having the same problem: programs seem to work (I'm writing this in Firefox), but as soon as I want to look at any particular folder on my system, Explorer crashes.

It's just the same thing when I tried to install a current Windows Update, when I tried to install a registry cleaner, and even when I tried to empty my trash!

Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

EDIT: after further analysis that I discovered that Vista logon failure mode seems to get rid of this problem. Is it possible to refine the potential causes of this problem?

Best,

Luis

That the file was present, and that AV scanners 12/42 to the VT file detected file as malicious or suspicious, suggests your system has active malware on this subject.

The best thing to do is to get rid of the malware first and then go ahead and restore items disabled with Autoruns.  No need to uninstall Nero, and I would hang on to the renamed.drv in a way, since it is the one piece of evidence suggesting malware. Basically, you can leave it as it is, don't forget not that it is there and then go through some hair removal techniques.  The AV software should find the file renamed.drv and delete / quarantine it.

Give the free version of MBAM a race and see what it captures...  There are a few tips on how to use MBAM in this thread.

Then double-click on helpsvc.reg to the desktop, then choose to merge the file with the registry.  Reboot and see if that helps.
  • Why doesn't my Windows Explorer? Help!

OK, so I tried to install a custom theme. No problem because I've done this about 20 times. Everything still works perfectly. But then I tried to change the Explorerframe.dll (I copied and pasted a different to System32 and SysWOW64 and renamed the original Explorerframe.old.dll and kept). It did not work. Instead, every time I tried to access Windows Explorer, an error (error code: 0xc000007b) appears and says that it does not and it forces me to "press ok to terminate the program." So I tried to reset my PC. When it started and I logged in, I got the same error message. I pressed ok and nothing happened. Now, every time that I boot it up and log in, the screen is black and the only thing on my mouse and my system of Advanced Care Pro Status Monitor. Help, please!

P.S. I have and HP Elitebook 8440p running Service Pack 1 of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (not sure if it's important, but only in the case)

Also, this is the URL for the theme: http://giro54.deviantart.com/art/Metro-Luna-319865527

  • Guard Windows Explorer crashing and restarting

    Hi all

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit on a Toshiba laptop. Yesterday afternoon, this "Explorer stopped responds" / "reboot...". "begun loop that I couldn't solve. I was not doing something special when he started to occur, no new installs, no new program, just browse the Internet with Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer Beta (all 3 for various reasons not related to the problem). Here are the things I've tried so far:

1 system restore - unable to do because apparently, even if it was lit, "0" space has been assigned to the and there is no restore point
2 safe Mode - does the same thing
    3. clean the Boot - did the same thing
    4 sfc/scannow - no integrity problem found
5 chkdsk - no problems found
    6. Norton Internet Security 2011 Full System Scan - no problems found

I spent over 6 hours trying to solve this problem, including 2 Norton analysts, trying to help through the support of the remote control. Only thing, they found a malware 'hack' through a combination of a-squared one of them installed, removal of which had absolutely no effect on the problem.

I was able to disable (complete the process stops the loop but it means that I have no bar of tasks/desktop/folders)

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you.

(If possible, I prefer not to reinstall windows, format my hard drive or install a third-party program to "fix" for this problem)

Just to make the clear solution for future reference:

Go to Event Viewer (open Manager jobs by Ctrl + Alt + Delete, click on 'file'-> 'break-in' type "eventvwr.msc" for Event Viewer) to see what type of program is made a mistake in addition to Windows Explorer (2 errors showed on every restart Windows Explorer). Look at the path of the file for the second error. E.g.

    Activation context generation failed for "c:\program files\real\realplayer\plugins\rmxrend.dll." Load Assembly Microsoft.VC90.DebugCRT, processorArchitecture = "x 86" publicKeyToken = "1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b", type = "win32", version = "9.0.21022.8" was not found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

Note the main program (in this case realplayer). Then follow these steps, in order, until Windows stops crashing:

    1. ensure that the problems causing program is up-to-date, otherwise, update.

2 Uninstall (go to the Manager of task-> type 'file'-> 'run' in "appwiz.cpl" for Add/Remove Programs)

    3. If #2 working, reinstall it and see if the problem is still present. If this is the case, uninstall and keep it uninstalled.

My problem was caused by RealPlayer and went away once I uninstalled it. My realplayer has been updated and reinstall the back problem, so bye bye realplayer.

    Thanks a lot guys.

    Hi PaulMazor,

Well first of all, btwapi.dll is a process no system developed by Bluetooth. If you go on your computer, try to disable Bluetooth by going to network and Internet or however your wireless interface is configured on your computer. If you don't have Bluetooth on your computer, try to uninstall it. go to start > Control Panel > programs > uninstall programs > scroll down and uninstall. My last suggesting opens upward, the Windows Task Manager (press ctrl + alt + delete and release). Go to processes and disable the application there. Other that that, I can't help you any further.
    Good luck

This indicates to me that it is a problem with Quicktime.  But with the problem without access to office programs and Windows Explorer I can't uninstall it.  I can access the control Alt Delete Task Manager and open a number of things with the file as Regedit menu but no third-party program.  No way at the moment so I uninstall Quicktime.  An another quark which comes from what I saw on the internet that the Appwiz.cpl file is supposed to open programs and features to uninstall, but I don't have that on my computer or on one of two external hard drives that I use for backups.  What is the correct file to use?  If so, I wonder why it is not in my Windows folder, and why programs and features worked before without this file?
Also, I tried 4 different restore points but that did not help either, and repair the boot and repair of windows.  And can not access to Cmd.exe.
So would be grateful if someone could, initially, index me on the file suitable for we hope to open programs and features.  Also maybe the files to open the Start Menu folder and file to open the control panel.  And maybe another idea about this problem.  I could delete files QuickTime in Regedit?
Programs running in the background if they are started by themselves, otherwise I have no control.  Can go on the internet with the hyperlink at the bottom of the error message.
    Thanks for any help.

My computer has been started with a full desktop but immediately got the error windows explore hanging everything up.  Starts in safe mode with the same results.

Finally solved my problem, however.  As mentioned in my original post, I could open through Control Alt Delete Task Manager and using the menu option file could open Regedit.  Also, I could open a browser with hyperlink at the bottom of the error message.  And perhaps could have downloaded programs to help, except once downloaded, I would have no way to open and run with unavailable office.  But in the end, I deleted all entries in Quicktime using the search function.  Took about 4 hours. but when I am the way, the way down on the list when I deleted an entry Windows came into Shut Down mode.  And, Viola, after reboot everything was normal again based on the last restore point, that I had used.
Then, I finished uninstalling Quicktime with Revo Uninstaller.
I understand that some people out there are uncomfortable to play with the registry, but I did for many years, since 98, so for me it was no problem, so everyone is very careful and has a good understanding and concept of what they are doing.  I think it is the only solution to a problem like this with the exception of reinstaling Windows.  For me, it's a far last option.  And then if someone mess up the registry, they would have to reinstall anyway.
For anyone else read this and maybe one of the technicians can expand on this, you could possibly use a Ubunto Live Linnux DVD to open the user? file to edit the registry in this way, too.  Don't know if it works or not.  But too bad it does not a type program MS-DOS out there who would do something like this easier.  There may be but I don't see one.  And as I mentioned in the first post, repair, restoration and other repair startup options did not work.  As a suggestion, perhaps a repair feature that can capture error information, analyze the registry and fix it with the minimum participation of the user.
I write all this with other users in mind that will go looking for clues and find help very few experts who give you generic, non-specific responses.

Whenever I try to open my documents I get windows explore stopped working which causes windows Explorer to restart. I tried a virus scan and have made the system restore is there anything else I can try. Thank you

When this problem started to happen? Have you changed the settings?

You run some of these scan to check if you have damaged files or updates. Sometimes the file or update can be fix if she isn't bad corrupt. I suggest that you back UP all your data. Here are some things you can try CHECKDISK, SFC SCAN and ChEKSUR.

    HOW TO CHECK THE DISK:
