  Make a right click any word (with extension .doc or .docx) file and let the mouse on 'Open with', click on choose a default program..., highlight the word and check the box always 'using the program selected... '. "and then click OK.

  Repeat for the other extensions, i.e. If you have found a .doc first rehearsal for a .docx or vice versa.

• Problems with external hard drive files, Aperture & keep open.

  When I opened (ie the "expand") the folder to an external drive such as a USB key, I want it remains open (expanded). But as soon as I open another folder on the C: drive (ie the root directory), the external drive folder closes its doors (IE 'collapse' s).   I experienced the same problem, but this solved it for me.

  Go to regedit > HKEY_Current_User > Software > Microsoft > Windows > DWM

  Once in DWM, right-click on an empty area inside it and create two new DWORD value (32), as shown below.

  Once these are added, right-click on them and click on change to ensure that the value is set to 0. Then open cmd (command prompt) as an administrator.  -Windows 7 users can open quickly as administrator by typing cmd in the start menu search box, and then shift + right click on the command prompt > open as administrator

  Once those who are made, open the start menu and right click on computer > properties.

  Go to advanced system settings. On the Advanced tab, click settings under performance. Change the default to Custom, and then hit apply and OK.

  You may need to disable a list item to hit apply, but double-check it after hitting apply first and then re - re-check the list item and click on apply. This will prevent the computer to change the custom to 'let windows choose what's best for my computer.

  This will fix the problem. Looks like a lot to do, but really, it isn't and is easy.

The error messages indicate a problem of kernel and disk error hard - not sure it might be. It charges fine, but then (even if I leave just sitting after reboot) it ' new bsod. Clues?   Did you do a clean install or upgrade to Vista?

  If Vista is bloated with a lot of applications, some applications/drivers can cause a problem in Win7.

  You may need to reinstall Win7 with a clean install

  The information is great.

  It may be worth trying to reset Windows Media Center as follows.

  Click on the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open programs and features, click on "Windows turn features on or off", open media features and uncheck the box Windows Media Center.  Click Yes, then OK and then restart the computer.

  When Windows has restarted, click the Start Menu and select Control Panel.  Open programs and features, click on "Windows turn features on or off", open check Windows Media Center and media features.  Click Yes and then OK, and when it has finished installing, restart the computer again.

  If the above does not help, try the following.

  If you do not, use another PC to create a Windows 7 recovery CD.  Download the ISO from the link below.

  Windows 7 64 bit

  You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  One time created, or if you already have this, insert the CD and restart at the start of it.  Select repair.

  Select 'Repair your computer' and follow Option 2 in the guide here to see if you can run the Windows system restore this way - if you can, choose a restore point right before WMC received the update that started this problem.

• Windows Media Player keeps opening by itself. Whenever I close it, it opens upward again.

  I have reinstalled Windows 8 on one of my Acer laptop which came with OEM Windows 8. Because the key Embedded BIOS, install never asked for a key. After you have installed the wireless network driver, the computer is connected to the internet and glass get immediately activated. However, the system alerted me 'You are about to be signed in 30 seconds' shortly after and rebooted itself.

  I guess it was because that the limitation of the inactive windows (when I connected first of all, I have not get Windows activated due to no internet), so I let it reboot and continue to play with it. But the reboot thing won't go away.

  One thing is that when the system first rebooted itself, no installation or major update does, so I guess that nothing dangerous is done.

  Someone met with such a problem and how to fix it?

  I tried to restore all starts and start services gradually from the clean boot state.

  What is interesting, is that, after all what can once again, the system is absolutely fine.

  I guess the question was because of the activation process, or a problem a start-up program or service such as a fast storage intel, content etc.
