Windows Firewall is not using the recommended settings and I have no control

I recently discovered that I have seem to be 'locked' on my firewall settings.  I discovered it not because I had problems with my firewall or internet but because I went to control panel to change some settings of firewall and found this:

So I press "Use recommended settings" and think computer for a few seconds and then nothing changes or happens.
My firewall seems to work very well, but why I can't access its settings?

The first thing I did was a scan of my computer with Microsoft Security Essentials and Spy-bot Search and Destroy.  Microsoft Security Essentials found a virus, but after I removed and restarted my computer the problem remains.

I did a lot of research on this problem before posting here then here are the following things, I've tried.  Every possible solution is fixed at 1 photo:

The rest of the commands seem to work, but after that I restarted my computer it had no effect.

I do not have the other firewall on my computer.  I don't have Norton or McAfee that apparently caused this problem with other people.  There is no error message.

When I right click on windows firewall "restart" is greyed out, but I can press start.

Method 1: Windows event controller does not exist.  The base filtering engine is started and also shows as running in the Task Manager.  Authorization of firewall Windows Driver is already set on request.

Method 2: I made a boot minimum and restarted my computer with ONLY Microsoft services (I disabled all startup unique programs and service not microsoft).  The problem persisted.

Method 5: I downloaded the antivirus and used today at about 18:30.  No viruses were found.

Method 1

I suggest you to run a scan using Windows Defender Offline offline just to make sure that the computer is clean, you have to download it from another computer if possible.

Method 2
I think an upgrade on the spot or complete reinstall would be necessary due to unknown changes that may have been made by the virus. You must back up all your files by using the option to be sure. If you perform a full reinstall you should analyze your backup before restoring the files.

    Download and install Windows Repair: '
    When repairing Windows opens, click the tab for Startup Repairs click Start. Clear all check boxes except for the following four:
    -Reset the registry permissions

  • I can't get my Windows Firewall to use the recommended settings. I tried all the fixes. I am running Windows 7 ultimate x 64 and MSE.

    I had this problem for about 2 months. It started when my Dell Inspiron 580 s have been infected. Tried for several days to system clean up but could not. I took my tech, very good and reliable man, and he was even coming. He has COMPLETELY reformatted my hard drive and we have installed a new Version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Computer works fine. I use Microsoft Security Essentials and also check with Malwarebytes. I keep all my software up to date and check DAILY.

    I have tried everything I know, and my tech guy is sick, and I can't get Windows 7 to run the recommended settings. He always tells me to update and I do, over and over again with the same result. Help, please.

    Follow these instructions to fix the Windows Firewall:
    Download and install repair Windows:
    When the repair of Windows opens, click on the tab to start repairs, click Start. Unselect all the boxes except for the following:
    -Reset the registry permissions
    -Reset the permissions of files
    -WMI repair
    -Repair Windows Firewall
    Then click Start. Once it is finished, restart your computer. Let me know if this helps you.

  • Windows XP do not use the two virtual processors

    I have created a virtual machine in Fusion 2.0.4 (on a MacBookPro (end 2006) running 10.5.7), assigned two CPUS and install a new copy of Windows XP Edition family in it (do not use the automatic installation provided by Fusion). After completing the installation, I booted up and noticed that only one processor showed in the Task Manager, despite two of them showing in Device Manager.

    I checked C:\WINDOWS\system32 - ntoskrnl.exe is correctly ntkrnlmp.exe, ntkrnlpa.exe is ntkrpamp.exe and hal.dll is halmacpi.dll - so I don't see a reason why XP would not see the other CPU.

    Any ideas? Reinstalling XP does not help. I have attached a copy of my VMX in case this is useful.

    Windows XP Home Edition does not support a single socket.  In order to avoid interrupting other products license restrictions, we present only single core CPU at the prompt.  A dual vCPU VM is presented as two-processor core for Windows XP Home Edition only uses the first processing company.  Windows XP Professional clients will see two CPUs in the Task Manager.

    Whenever I click on the recommended use of the parameters, it gives me this code. I ran virus and malware scans and I foud more but now they have been removed. But still, I'm afraid that I don't have a wall of fire and that anthing can pass through.

    According to the request, I understand that when you try to open multiple windows of the first window always wants to stay on top. I appreciate your efforts to solve this problem.

    You can switch to the previous window by pressing Alt + Tab, or cycle through all open windows and the desktop by holding the Alt key and pressing repeatedly Tab release Alt to show the selected window.

    Also you can mount in cascade windows by right clicking on the toolbar to switch between windows.

    I am currently working on a project to control a 230V brushed servo motor using cRIO. The engine drives a linear step and the final project needs to create a control of position of the engine that the user is able to enter a speed, position and control steps to move to this position.

    I use a bridge using NOR-9401 and H to power the motor circuit and a PWM output to move the engine. I also have an encoder, quadrature, connected to a NOR-9403 read position and speed. I use the example program of encoder for the NI 9505 - in my application.

    There is no voltage or current on the drive circuit sensors so I wouldn't be able to have a closed loop current in this case. The scene release mechanism is such that the position is locked if the motor does not move and I do not need a torque control to keep the engine in place.

    To achieve this, I just wouldn't be able to use a single PID VI (probably the FPGA VI express for discrete PID)?

    I am not very well versed in the theory of control, and therefore no indication in the common sense would help me a lot.

    in general, it is best to use a cascade control loop structure but in principle must also be able to use the output of the control loop of position as an input to the PWM generator.
