Windows Hotsync ADB

I made a bad hotsync of my schedule, which is Windows XP (version desktop 4.1.4) towards the Tungsten E2 handheld computer that replaced the version calendar of your handheld. Thus, these latest information is lost. The .bak file only stores the information of the last backup that is quite old.

Is it possible to recover the missing data?

Please help a desperate user

Unfortunately, there is no way to recover the data if the .bak file is not valid.

The best way to protect your data is to export the data in each category of Palm Desktop in a separate folder on your PC.

Create a new folder on your PC somewhere that suits. Name it something like Palm Desktop data. Click on the link below and follow the instructions on this page for the export procedure.

http://www.Palm.com/cgi-bin/cso_kbURL.cgi?id=28734

Make sure you only select everything for the beach in the export window.

With the data stored in the created folder, make a copy of this file and save it on a USB key, cd - rw or external hard drive.

Whenever you change in Palm Desktop, export the data that has been changed in this file and save again to external media.

With this process you can always import the data in Palm Desktop, whenever you have a problem with the data in Palm Desktop, or if your computer/hard drive/device crash.

I have my Windows XP computer just as replacing elements of the calendar on my Palm Centro hotsync. I do not delete the calendar entries on my computer, but I remove them from my Palm. When I hotsync with computer, it unfortunately puts all these old calendar entries back on my Palm. I want to make my computer calendar looks like my Palm calendar. I don't want to have to be updated in both places.

    I'd appreciate any help.

    Thank you

I followed your instructions for my calendar Hotsync configuration in Hotsync on my computer. It seems to have worked! I thought that I had to set it up on my Palm and did not see how. Thank you very much!

  • Treo 755 p and Windows - HotSync jumps calendar and Agenda - "Conduit DateCond.dll: no link found for the Creator ID 'date'." Conduit did not run. »

I've owned a 755 p for almost a year now. For much of this time, my hotsyncs were jumping the Calendar/Contacts and calendar apps. These two work very well on the Palm Desktop and on the Treo itself. I checked the unit and the palm Desktop for corrupt files. There are not. When I was with Palm Desktop 4 (before 6 is available for XP), the lines were always listed as disabled. I could help and do a hotsync, but no data has been synchronized and would return to being disabled. If I tried to set it as enabled by default, the Hotsync application would break! So, I've lived with this absurd situation for 6 months now. Finally, I tried upgrading to Palm Desktop 6.2 and had no problem, but the problem persists. HotSync on the desktop PC simply ignores these lines entirely, even if it does not display error messages after a sync. The lines are listed as enabled.

I made a full backup and then uninstalled Palm Desktop 6.2 completely. Restarted and re-installed Palm Desktop 6.2 and tried to sync again. The problem persists.

My next step (and where I am now) would allow to debug and documented in the Hotsync application logging. Once I did, I discovered the specific problem, which apparently is entirely hidden from the end user. Here are the specific journal entries:

Led DateCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID "date." Conduit does not run.

Led DateCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID "SNLT". Conduit does not run.

Led AddrCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID 'addr '. Conduit does not run.

Led AddrCond.dll: No association is found for the Creator ID "PAdd". Conduit does not run.

I was not able to find something on the Internet about these errors. Nothing on the Palm site, nothing in these forums. I checked the database files are indeed on the handheld and have good creator ID. I don't understand how a complete re-installation of software still leaves it with a kind of missing association. But clearly there is something that lack prevents Hotsync to understand exactly what it is supposed to do here.

I can't just wipe my machine and start over. I have a lot of contacts and calendar on the device entries that are not on my PC and vice versa. Find and fix all those differences manually would be months of work with my limited free time. So if anyone has any suggestions on how to solve this problem, please let me know. And no, I'm not going to waste time calling support Palm. I gave up on the phone with Palm years ago support.

It's part of the problem. You might want to hard reset the device, and then rename the folder to BACKUP on the PC. (CProgram Files/Palm or Palmone / * Hotsync username * / Backup.) Change to the old files then synchronize with your existing username.

  • OK, another window 7 HotSync approach for legacy T3

I read a lot of threads on this forum, but simply could not find a solution that corresponds to my case. I tried an apparently plausible approach, but don't have enough to work. I wonder if the gurus out there can give me a pointer or two.

I have a T3, I can only use up to Desktop 4.1.4 not something higher. If some of the workarounds would not work for me.

My new laptop is a Windows 7 Home Premium, but it of a good deal and does not have bluetooth or infrared port to speak of. Once again, an another roadblock for me.

While I was thinking, how about a network HotSync via my old Windows XP which has the network connection to my new Windows 7 laptop?  In other words, T3-> USB-> Window XP PC-> for Windows 7 laptop.   I HotSync would be on network in the past before, so I think I knew what I had to do.

BUT the ONLY problem I have is, how to create a USER in the first place on the Notepad of Windows 7 for hotSync launched across the network knows how to 'home' to the main computer?    In the past, I had to hotSync on the main computer to create the user before I can hotSync over network.

    Any idea?

Ramon, thanks to again raise this matter.

Reb1, thanks for letting me know the availability of the 64-bit driver!

Here is the link for the 3rd new 64-bit driver that works for my T3 on Windows 7 on USB:

    http://forums.Palm.com/T5/Windows-HotSync/64-bit-Palm-Desktop-drivers-are-here/m-p/337516#M58035

    1. I installed the Palm Desktop 4.1.4 on my Windows 7.

2 when you are prompted to HotSync at the end of the installation, I plugged in with the PDA cradle and press the HotSync button.

    3. I heard the beep signifying the USB device has attempted to commit, but nothing showed on the screen.

    4. I then followed the outlines the steps in the link above, and everything worked as described!

OK, for completeness, here are the steps I took to step 4 above:

4.1 I downloaded and extracted the driver 64 bit Aceeca site through the link provided in the thread above.

4.2 I opened Device Driver and found "Palm device" with a yellow warning icon.

4.3 I right click on it and select "Update driver".

4.4 I navigate to the folder where I extracted the drivers

4.5 after the driver has been installed successfully, I HotSync would once again and voila!

  • Compatibility of Windows 7 Ultimate and Palm pilot

Hello.  My previous TX exploded and have a new.  I'm unable to synchronize with Windows 7 Ultimate.  Can someone advise when Palm will provide compatibility to allow syncing?  Very frustrating.  Greatly appreciated! Tim

Here is a link to the 64-bit to Win 7 64 bit drivers. I assume that you have a 64-bit version of Win7.

    http://forums.hpwebos.com/T5/Windows-HotSync/64-bit-Palm-Desktop-drivers-are-here/TD-p/337516

See if these drivers may help you get the TX to HotSync.

If you have a 32-bit version of Win7, you should be able to sync with the drivers provided in Palm Desktop.

I'll try to use Palm Desktop 4.1.4e. Palm Desktop 6.2 has had problems of loss of data if your PC is up-to-date with the Palm open Fund or not closing Palm Desktop on your PC shutdown. Once you decide which version to use, I suggest to export your data backup and disaster recovery.

There may be the database at the source of the problem. Click on the following link for the program called DbFixiT. You can then search records at the origin of the problem and fix them yourself or you can buy the program and do it automatically repair records.

  • HotSync client for handheds other than Palm?

    Hello

I would be very surprised if there was such a thing, but I thought I should ask.

I have an old, deadware Windows application which can only synchronize with Palm handheld computers (PDA and smartphone Pre/Pixi now).

As a way to use other smartphones, including BlackBerry, I was wondering if anyone had developed Hotsync clients to operate on other than Palm smartphones so that any dependent Windows Hotsync application could synchronize with these new handhelds?

    Thank you.

The closest thing to a common 'HotSync Client' is Microsoft Outlook.  Most of the devices (including PalmOS) can synchronize the PIM to Outlook data...
