Windows Installer crashes Office opening

How to stop the installation program opens. The office program is already installed and works very well. It takes 5-7 minutes so he can go and I can start to work in Word.

Hi Princofkc,

  • This only happens when opening Office application?
  • What exactly happens when you try to open the Microsoft Office application?

You can unsubscribe and reregister the windows service installed on your computer and check if that helps you solve the problem.

To do this, follow these steps:

a. click on the Start menu, click onrun.
(b) in the Open box, typemsiexec /unreg and then press ENTER.
(c) in the Start menu, clickrun.
(d) in the Open box, typemsiexec/regserver, and then press ENTER.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

Thank you and best regards,

  • Windows Explorer hangs when opening office files

Windows Explorer crashes when opening files on the desktop.

The accident occurred when going back (or hit the back button) when a desktop folder is used.

After a few weeks of frustration, I've isolated a few things that makes it a little easier to deal with, and maybe this will help some members of the community help me pinpoint the problem.

I've exhausted trying to use system restore system backups.

I discovered the stops 'window launch folder in a separate process' the 5-10 sec reload of the Windows desktop.

Open the folder by opening a window of the Explorer than navigating to C; \Users\USER-ME\Desktop does NOT cause the error; just when you open the folder 'from' the office.  (which goes against the convenience to keep files open on the desktop at first project)

I suppose that as a last resort, I could start using a location (like C; \MyDesktop) place the files in there, and then create shortcuts to them.

I was about to do an installation of Windows o/s before you find the option 'split the process' & isolate when & how it occurred (as first of all, I thought it was totally random)

The only unusual thing that occurred near the time of the problem was trying to uninstall [Google Drive] that crashed due to a security locking violation.  I reinstalled today, uninstalled mode safe, found guilty folder (... AppData \Local\Google\..) used 'Take Ownership' and then finished. But after a registry cleaning & several resets, the problem persists, then maybe it was just a coincidence.

There are a lot of reasons, it may happen, but my guess is a failed shell extension.  She's going to Extensions are what adds options to the context menus you see when you right-click on various things.  The hull of the Office is different from cases, even if a program (like Google) added an option to the menu in both places, so it is possible for one to have a problem.  You might be familiar with the common shell extensions, like "Scan this file with Norton" click on menus and others.

You can use a program like shell ShellExView to disable the extensions one by one to help out.  Although my personal dose of this situation is to create a new user account on the computer, then do drag your files into the new account, and delete the one damaged.

  • Windows Installer - constant question

Why keep having reset the windows registry to install?  I always feel like I have to check to make sure that it is there and if not, I have to do the reset procedure.  To do this, reboot and everything is going well for a few days and that he disappears again and I have to reset it again.  It happened for about six weeks.  I realize that it isn't there when I updates software and it fails like Adobe, etc.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Windows Installer will not work. I have Norton Antivirus, CCleaner, Securia, etc.. Some programs start more. I have Office 2002 and my processor will not open.

After problems with my system slows down, I found Windows Installer, stop operation. I have Windows XP Home Edition, SP3. I have Office 2002 and my processor will not open. I tried to install install 4.5, but it wouldn't work.  I can't start in my Services, either, even if it is configured to start automatically. I don't know if I just need to migrate to Windows 7 and do with it or continue to try to solve this problem!

  • After uninstalling printer Windows Installer and Microsoft Office error "this update package not could be opened"

Original title: Windows Installer and Microsoft Office problems after you have uninstalled the printer

I tried to install more than one printer, a HP Photosmart C4280 by downloading the drivers and updates on the HP site. I uninstalled the printer after it failed to scan a document and I had no more use for it. Then the trouble started. When I tried to open some programs (iTunes, Skype, etc.) for the first time after the uninstall of the printer, a window "Windows Installer" popped up. After you have configured Windows Installer, the program would open normally. However, when I try to open any Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), Windows Installer appears, but it turns into a window that reads:
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer update package. »

Microsoft Office programs are open at all, and I desperately need my programs of Microsoft Office to work even faster. I would appreciate it if Windows Installer will stop trying to configure when I open a program also. Can someone help me please?

    Hi Jennifer7,

Method 2: Follow the steps mentioned in the article below which addresses Office question

You receive an error message when you try to install or run an Office program: "this patch package could not be opened" or "" the installation source for the product is not available".

  • Whenever I open an Excel file, I get a pop for Windows Installer

    Original title: Windows Installer

Every time I open an existing Excel file, Windows Installer opens first, there is a significant delay and opens the Excel file. What is the solution to get out of the process of opening Excel from Windows Installer files? I don't see Windows Setup in the control panel so I can't remove it.

    Thank you

    Hi Phil,

Windows Installer tries to configure excel on your system.

    Click Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs-> Microsoft office-> change-> add/remove component-> select excel, then click on run from my computer.

Once its finished installation-> start excel from start-> programs-> excel (or in Microsoft office-> Excel).

Let the full installation. Close excel and open your files.

    I hope this helps.

  • opening Windows Installer when you surf the web

When I'm on the web, I get the Windows Installer opens and asks me to install Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1Professional. When I hit Cancel it opens up to 3 times more. When I install, it ask me for a disk and then moved. This is my desktop computer and there is no disc. How to stop trying to install it.  This is not the case in all open programs just for browsing the web. A specific site iswww.apple.com/trailers among others. It gives me an error 1706 when I click Cancel because I do not have a disk.

    Hello

Try for MS Office repair option. Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> Add Remove Programs-> search for Microsoft Office 2000-> select Change-> Select reinstall. Once your installation is complete, start Excel and allow to set. Once this is done, the problem should be solved. Try and post back... You will need MS Office installation disc.

Also check if you use Outlook and its configured correctly, can also try Internet explorer-> tools-> Internet sealing-> programs-> Email, new group and calendar... Try selecting different if you have not installed Outlook.

  • Windows Installer appears every time that a new tab is open

Original title - Microsft Office 2010

After you have installed Office 2010 (I already had Office 2007), Windows Installer keeps popping up on my screen. When I cancel, another window opens saying "the component you are trying to use is on a CD-Rom or another removable disk that is not available. When I cancel I get error 1706 Set can not find the file require. You check the connection to the network or CD-Rom. When I cancel it, it starts with Windows Installer popping up. Finally, he leaves popping up but when I open a new window again. Windows 2010 works just fine. Windows Installer is the problem.

    Hi JoettaReed

You can check if the re-registration of Windows Installer helps you-
    a. Quit all Windows programs.
    b. click Start, click run, type msiexec /Unregister in the Open box and then click OK.
    c. click Start, click run, type msiexec/regserver in the Open box and then click OK.
    d. restart your computer.

    I hope this helps.
