Windows Live Mail - blocked on 'offline '.

All of a sudden, my windows live mail default to 'offline '.  It will not automatically send and receive.  I can force it to online status, but when I push the send/receive, it says I am offline and would I wanted to go to the line.  I say 'yes', of course (I always get drop two downs pose this) and then when I push the send/receive, an error message comes up saying that my send command has been canceled.  I contacted Verizon, and all my account settings are correct.

I have searched all over the program to find a reset button for "on-line", does not.
Detail: I tried to send a large attachment by e-mail.  The server came back and said that the message was too large.  I divided the two attachments and tried to send and that's when it all started.  I could really use some help thanks in advance

Your suggestion has solved the problem on the first try.  Who would have thunk it?  Thank you very much.

  • Windows Live Mail is "offline."

My computer is online.  I can open allonline except Windows Live Mail accounts, which shows "work offline".  I tried to shut down the system before turning off the modem for 20 seconds approximately.  On restart I open I want and the State system says 'connected' but Windows Live Mail remains 'offline '.  This has not happened before.

  • Windows Live Mail will not 'go online' to check e-mails.

I use Windows Live Mail with Windows 7.  From now on, when I open Windows Live Mail, it shows me offline and won't check my email.  A block appears and says, "you work in offline mode.  You want to go online now? "When I click on 'Yes', this same block keeps popping up and ask me again and again if I want to go online.  When I click on the 'Work offline' box in the lower right corner with the Red 'x', it's not going online that I interrupted the task and sometimes my calendar cannot be updated and will not continue to check emails.  Impossible to check my email.  Help, please!  And is it possible that I can disable the calendar.  The calendar appears to have started the problem thanks!

Note: Windows Live Mail has 2 two sets of contacts, contact online and offline contacts. Online contacts are those who are associated with the Windows Live ID used to connect to the client. These contacts are stored on the Windows Live servers with Windows Live Mail synchronizes. Offline contacts are these added contacts to contacts in Windows Live Mail when you are not connected to your Live ID/Microsoft account. Offline contacts are stored locally on your computer.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.

  • Windows Live Mail always tells me I'm out of line, but I'm not.

I continue to receive a pop-up window asking me if I would go online now, even if I'M online.  When I click on 'YES' (I want to go to the line), I just get the same pop window.  I can't use my Windows Live mailbox to send or receive e-mails.

I tried the suggested Control Panel / uninstall a program / right click on Windows Live Essentials / select uninstall-change / clicked on repair all Windows Live programs.  End of "repair", he stated that all Windows Live programs had been repaired.  HOWEVER, the same problem exists when I try to open my Inbox mailbox.

Open Internet Explorer, and then press Alt + F to open the file menu. If work offline is selected, deselect it. If it is not selected, select it, wait a few moments and then deselect. Now check if Windows Live Mail is still offline. If this is the case, repeat the cycle to select/deselect in IE until WLMail Gets the message.

  • XP SP3, and Windows Live Mail, when I receive a file .htm as an attachment to an e-mail, it's a file 'blocked '. How can I prevent this from happening.

Win XP SP3 and Windows Live Mail. I get emails from my office surveillance video. The e-mail has an attachment '.htm '. When I double click the file .htm in the email, it starts Internet Explorer 8 and must upload a short video clip and display it. The fly in the soup seems to be the fact that the .htm file is "locked".

He can be unlocked by saving it to disk and using Windows Explorer to display its properties, and then click the button "Unblock" - but it's just a "work around".

From what I read on Microsoft sites, the .htm files are not considered to be dangerous - or are? So why are they blocked? And how do I prevent it?

    I listen carefully!

Thank you very much Halima, maybe you helped me to focus, in any case I eventually find a switch in Windows Live Mail, which was causing my pain.

In Windows Live Mail, go to TOOLS-online the SECURITY OPTIONS-online SECURITY => and UNCHECK the line "do not allow opening or saving attachments that could contain a virus.

Problem solved - thank you for your time and effort.
