Windows log on screen is displayed after installing avast antivirus.

Windows xp with service pack 3 running on HP Pavillion. This is the first windows temporal lon on screen appears on a computer. I was trying to install avast when the program needed to restart after a quick scan. Start windows, back up the log of windows on the screen appears the password search. I need help before avast were installed or remove windows log on screen reset to the previous state. I don't know the password.

I would say from Safe Mode, and then sign in using the 'administrator' account and do a system restore

Here's how:

  1. Restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
  2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.
  3. When the boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

See if that helps.

    ORIGINAL TITLE: Vista problems

Hi I was wondering if I can get a few hekp with this question. After installing Avast AV my computer cannot load Vista. HE continues to go to the Startup Repair, and it gives me an error of windows registry. I idid a debbug and had no errors on the disc. Safe mode does not work. I tried restore to earlier date and nothing, went to the command prompt and type chkdsk /F. c: here's what I got the chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. CHKDSK may run if this volume is dismounted first. ALL OPEN GERE to this VOLUME WOULD then BE INVALID. And then he asks me if I want to force a disassembly. Press o and had. Windows check the file system and found no problem. The last line says failure to transfer the messages saved in the log of the events with the 50 State. It's all I have.

  • Windows Photo Viewer does not properly after installing Spyder 4 Express

I installed Spyder 4 Express.    Open photoshop and got message this - original use - incorrect color profile so used original and all the images look OK.   But the photos opened through Explorer files (correct thumbnails), but when I preview with Windows Photo Viewer, the images are all very tinted orange.    I then removed Spyder 4 Express hoping to remove the colour profile info, no luck.   All other photo in other software and wallpaper moniter views are correct.   What should I do to correct the display color in the Windows Photo Viewer.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your concern on the forum.

According to the description of the question when you preview with Windows photos Photo Viewer are all very tinted orange. Maybe this is a chance that display drivers are getting corrupted or need to be updated.

As you are referring to the Windows Photo Viewer, I suggest you to check the Windows Photo Viewer is defined as program default for Open the images. You can follow the steps mentioned below to check that.

    1. Press on the the window key + W.

    2. In Search box type in default programs , and then press enter.

    3. Click on Sand your default program.

    4. Now right-click on the Windows Photo Viewer, and then select set this program as default.

For more details, you can refer to the following Microsoft article mentioned.

Choose the apps Windows uses by default

If the problem persists, try to update the drivers and install Windows updates. Drivers are updated occasionally. Windows can update automatically, or you can install the drivers updated yourself. It is important for you to have confidence in the updated drivers that you install. Windows warns you if it detects a suspicious or dangerous driver, you should not install.

    Download and install the drivers

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Kind regards

  • Blue screen of death after installing Windows updates that are automatically downloaded

My computer got up until I get the blue screen whenever I try to install a Windows Update automatically downloaded.  The list of updates pending installation are KB978207, KB974470, KB971644, KB972270, KB905866, KB960362 and KB890830.  The first time that I have updated I just had the system install 7 all at the same time.  I got the blue screen and the computer may not restart normally.  Made the system restore and I tried to install each update one at a time.  7 all finished by gives me the blue screen with no reboot successfully after one of them.  I don't know what to do next.

  • Screen black shortly after installing windows 7 homepremium.

I've been struggling with my old desk for 4 hours... I installed a fresh windows 7 Home premium on a new Samsung 500 GB hard drive, but soon after the installation when I rebooted my pc restarted at a black screen which is endless... I tried to install Windows 7 Os three times and each time the result was the same. My drive is ok because it doesn't give any error when executing control over that disk utility

Wait about 10 minutes to see if the installation continues. Look at the led on the hard drive (often a small light on your computer that blinks when your hard drive is running) to see if there is no activity. If your hard drive seems to be working, the installation must be current. If your hard disk doesn't seem to work, go to step 2.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.
