  • Tecra M2 LCD brightness to Windows login screen

    Hello

the brightness of the LCD screen of my Tecra M2 is too dark at the Windows login screen (only here). I'd say it's around one or two steps above the minimum brightness, which is really too dark.

After login, the brightness can be adjusted with the Fn key combinations or the Toshiba software. I know it wasn't dark before, but somehow I have seem to have changed without knowing.

I tried to change the parameter logged on as administrator, but nothing helped. After the reboot, the screen is dark again. The Fn keys do not work on the login screen.

So, does anyone know how the setting until a user's?

    Thank you
    Ingmar

    Hello Ingmar

I don't really know why is it so important to you, but something like that is nothing unusual. At the beginning the BIOS is responsible for all the activities and no OS. I imagine that in the BIOS settings that the brightness of the LCD screen is not set to the maximum level (not necessary). When the BONE starts OS take control over the material and that you have more high level of brightness (if you defined in the intelligence tool).

  • SimplePass says password of windows login you entered does not match

I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC model

    Product number: A3E83AV

I tried everthing to make this work, Simplepass remembered of my websites, but does not accept

    my windows password.

The bios has been updated and have tried different combinations of the validity and Simplepass software sensor driver.

The laptop is running Windows 7 64 bit. I turned the biometrics and disable the windows password.

    I use Internet Explorer 10

IM using driver validity 4.3.301 and Simplepass 6.0.100.272

Back someone at - it a real solution for this problem. I went through all the discussion forums and none of them helped.

I upgraded SimplePass version 8.00.57 and my windows login WORKS, it works also for websites but if you connect to a Web site with wrong password and ask simplepass if in memory it will be rember the password wrong. So a little advice: remove simplepass Web site and log back in to the site and ask simplepass to remember the password.

When registering at a website for ex-athletes there is a small delay for simplepass meet and connect.

When I check the biometric devices, ther no listed? I maybe the cause by checking biometric devices turn off before installing simplepass. I followed your instructions stated.

Overall I am satisfied with this work and appreciate your efforts.

  • Fingerprint reader not working not not upon awakening from sleep for the windows login

    Hello
I have a new T540P with a validity fingerprint reader.

About 80% of the time, the fingerprint reader does not meet the windows login screen after the wake up the computer from sleep mode. It works 100% of the time when starting from a stop position, however. Once connected, it also works 100% of the time. The question arises when you log in to windows.

    I tried many things

-uninstallation/installation of the device in the Device Manager and finger print manager pro software

-prints of setting through two fingerprint Manager software pro (lenovo) OR through the windows built in options of the control panel of the fingerprints

-disabling "allow windows to turn off this device to save power" in Device Manager.

Thus, I must say that I have an another T540P I ordered as a replacement. Both models encounter the same problem.

Is it a matter of broad platform affecting all models of T540P? It's frusterating.

  • I get the windows login screen and I do not know the password for administrators

I accidentally deleted my account and when the computer starts and I get the windows login screen and I do not know the administrators password. Also how can I reinstall windows when I got a disc when I brought my laptop. Thank you, Lorraine

Thanks for getting back to me. I sold my old laptop to my son-in-law, and he asked me to remove my name from the computer off so that my name wasn't on the screen all the time. so I deleted the profile of cook of lorraine and made one for him, but I didn't give it a password. then I realized what I had to do (I got Lorraine where time is on the bottom of the screen), but was unable to highlight to remove it without a mouse. so I plugged a mouse, but the computer does not read, then I restarted the computer. When I restarted, all I could get was the windows login screen.

then I typed in the name son-nlaws and they said that he was kidnapped, tyoed in mine and got the same and then typed in Administrator, but did not know the password. I have since reinstalled windows. XP Professional would not install saying a file was missing, so I installed xp family and is working again. He just has to click on what edition it wants to run. Professional XP of course happen just with the display of connection... but it can use again.
    Thank you once again, Lorraine

  • How can I change the name on my windows login 8

How can I change the name on my windows login 8

    Hi Charles,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

Please answer the question for a better understanding of the following question:

    (1) do you use local account or Microsoft account?

If you use local account and then follow these steps and check if this is useful:

    a. press the Windows key + X, and then click Control Panel.

    b. Select the user account

    (c) by virtue of changes to your user account, click on change your account name

If you use Microsoft account then follow the given link:

Check out the link: https://login.live.com/ login and change your details.

    OR

1 from your browser, sign in to your Windows Live account. Once connected, change the name on your account by its exact name you want to use in Windows 8. (Go to settings-> Edit the account name)

    2. in Windows 8, switch to using a local account. You will be asked to create a username and password for your local account. (Go to settings PC-> switch to a local account)

    3. you will be disconnected from your account real-time and connected to your local account.

    4. return to the settings of the PC, and this time click on the switch to a real account button. (The text of the button may be slightly different). You will be asked your direct e-mail address and the password.

    5. follow the steps to connect using your real account. Your account name is now updated / corrected to what you changed it to in step 1.

It will be useful, if you have questions about Windows, feel free to post. I'll be happy to help you.

    Thank you best regards &!

  • Mirage Pivot fails when you are using software that replaces the Windows Login (GINA) as Imprivata

When you try to perform a migration recently at a client site the pivot process has not completed as planned because of Imprivata. Imprivata is a SINGLE sign that seems to replace the Windows GINA and provides a custom login screen.

During an attempt of the Pivot process (Mirage 4.3) the start of Windows Update screen does not appear and the standard Windows login is displayed. When you manually login customer Mirage shows the USMT process is underway. This allows users to log in and is generally not the process but it does not complete the USMT process and join the domain.

This is due to the customer Imprivata, although we suspect that would happen with any product which replaces GINA of Windows.

    Workaround solution:

We are uninstalling the client of the base image Imprivata and try to apply this to be an application layer or display the migration script.

Has anyone else had this problem with a SINGLE sign or a custom GINA solution?

    Peter

We have removed Imprivata and the process worked ok. We are now reinstall using the post migration script that works

  • Receives does not the windows login screen

    Hello

We use Windows Xp professional. After windows logo, I don't get windows journal in the screen. It stops with an Aero mouse point.

I tried to repair the operating system using the Windows XP CD.

    Please provide any possible sollutions

I had exactly the same problem - no changes known to the PC but the PC boots only at the stage just BEFORE the login or welcome screen.  Safe mode also did not work.

I found a solution that worked for me from another forum (I remember credit what he can't do, but where it was!).  Sound essentially do a system restore manually.  The actual instructions seemed not completely correct for my machine, so you maybe a little wing.

Start the PC with the CD of Win XP and enter the Recovery Console.

    then:

    CD.
    CD system ~ 1\_resto ~ 1

This directory does not exist on my machine - I had to:
    CD "system volume information".
CD "_restore {blah blah blah} - cant quite remember what he said, but it was pretty obvious.

Continue down the tree until you find a whole bunch of files with a prefix of RP (RP100, RP101, etc.)
CD in the second of the last folder RP

    then
    CD snapshot

    type:
    copy _registry_machine_system c:\windows\system32\config\system
    Copy _registry_machine_software c:\windows\system32\config\software

exit the recovery console and restart.

Then my machine booted up very happy...

    I hope this helps.

  • Black screen after the windows login

Hi, I have a HP Pavilion DV7 notebook with Windows 7 Home Premium installed on it. A problem I've noticed is that, once I connect to windows during a boot, the screen is black for about 1-2 minutes. After awhile, explorer.exe would with desktop, taskbar and icons. I am concerned about this 1 to 2 minutes of black screen after the boot as it did not exist previously. I know I have options such as restoring the computer laptop back to the default state, or by using the system restore. However, I don't want to lose all my stuff, and with respect to the restoration of the system, I'm not sure when the problem happening, as it was some time ago. I have read a Microsoft article, (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-is-my-screen-black-when-i-start-windows-7) and tried all the steps with the graphics card and the regestry, but nothing seems to work.

-Task Manager is able to open when the screen is black (shows explorer.exe running)

-J' have the drivers on the HP support site

-laptop is HP Pavilion DV7 3024ca

You will need to login using the method of trial and error. Please uncheck all of the MSCONFIG Startup tab and restart the system. If the black screen issue is resolved, then check out an application every time and restart the system. This will help you to identify the program interfere.

  • U2515H, black screen with error during startup until the Windows login screen

It is a half frustrating work situation.

    Was doing this:

display port HDMI card--> cable HDMI - HDMI--> HDMI U2515H port

This configuration has worked in Windows 7, with a 2560 x 1440 resolution reached.

However, when you perform a reboot of the machine, the screen went black and impossible to display the BIOS POST screen (these text showing the amount of RAM you have, what are the HD detected, etc.). In addition, there was an error message on screen, saying:

"The current moment of entry is not supported by the display. Please change your timing of entry to 2560 x 1440, 60 Hz or any other listed monitor calendar according to the characteristics of the monitor"

The message error and white screen persists until Windows loaded to the login screen. This means that I can't see even the Windows logo, or the safe mode selection screen if I press F8.

It's so no way for me to go into the BIOS to change any parameter, or do a boot was secure.

Tried to use a DVI-HDMI converter and also a DVI-HDMI cable to make use of the DVI port of my video card. Still the same error as above. Worse still, this implementation does not work in Windows 7, gives me a white screen.

I'm sure the DVI port on my video card works, cos it can work with my old Samsung monitor. Inspired by the present, the steps to be followed to the letter, may force the U2515H to show the BIOS screen:

    1. stop down and power down the computer.

2 port DVI video card-->--> old Samsung monitor DVI port DVI - DVI cable

    3. turn on your computer. The screen of the MESSAGE on the Samsung monitor.

    4. go into the BIOS by pressing del screen

5 disconnect the cable DVI - DVI video card DVI port.

    6 port card video--> cable DVI DVI - HDMI--> HDMI U2515H port

The thing is, if I have to keep the old monitor, why bother to buy the new U2515H from Dell?

So, how can I get the U2515H to accept the signal from my video card during the POST screen and the start-up phase, without going through the tedious steps each time? Thanks in advance!

    Material:

motherboard: Asus P5K - E Wifi (latest version of the BIOS)

video card: Galaxy 8800GT (DVI, HDMI)

It seems that your motherboard ASUS has a slot PCIe x 16 blue. If one of the beaches mid PCIe x 16 graphics cards will suffice. Go here. I have this sort by Nvidia PCIe x 16 2.0 video cards, low to high price. You look for one with DP or CDM. Or simply go to a local store and search the PCIe x 16 video cards with DP or CDM.
