Windows Mobility Center icons have disappeared.

I got my laptop on Christmas day, the Dell Inspiron 15R IS, and to activate the Bluetooth and other options I could press a button with gear wheels above the keyboard that shows the windows Mobility Center. This allowed me to activate and deactivate Bluetooth easily and it worked for about 4 days. However after half of options (which were on the bottom of the window) have now disappeared, so the toggle Bluetooth has disappeared, as well as other Dell options such as the rocker "Express support". I don't know if I changed some settings or how do I return these rockers?

Henry.

Henry,

Go to the drivers & downloads , enter your service tag, and then select your operating system. Under applications, download and install Dell QuickSet and see if applications reappear.

If it's Windows 7...

Start, Control Panel, Manager of devices.

You see exclaimination yellow or red x marks

If it's Windows 8...

Press the Windows key and the keys x at the same time, Device Manager

You see exclaimination yellow or red x marks

    Hello
Your computer is probably infected by malicious software. Some malware will hide all the icons and shortcuts on your computer. To make your icons visible again, download Unhide.

Once downloaded, double-click display and let it run. It removes the attribute hidden on all files and try to restore the icons on the Start Menu to their location.
Then try following steps 1 and 2 in this virus/malware removal guide: http://www.selectrealsecurity.com/malware-removal-guide

  • Presentation settings is missing from the Windows Mobility Center

Satellite L 300 with Vista Home Basic

Recently installed everything, but have run windows update etc. Since then.

Presentation settings does not appear in the Windows Mobility Center, and I can not find presentationsettings.exe anywhere on the computer.

Have tried downloading VAP but no difference. Toshiba Assist has nothing to help me, I think.

I tried looking for drivers and utilities for the L300 and sees nothing to help me - no presentation or power related only downloads.

How can I get the presentation settings? The main problem I have is not to want the screen empties when you watch a DVD or streaming video. Even if you put windows power settings to never turn off the screen, it will still blank after a period of time without the intervention of the physical user, despite the video game.

AFAIK this option is always available when the laptop is preinstalled with Toshiba (factory State) recovery image.
You install own OS or what?

I have two Toshiba laptops, and both of them have this option in the Windows Mobility Center.

Try these steps and check if that helps:

** Turn it back on. Sometimes a reboot will solve this problem.* *.

    1. close all programs and stop the laptop.

    2. remove all power supplies (battery and power cord)

    3. empty the remaining power by pressing the power on button for 30 seconds (even if you have no power).

    4. put the battery back and start the computer

    5. once fully loaded, right-click on the system tray and select Properties.

    6. This will bring to the top of the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" dialog box. The "Notification area" tab.

    7. at the bottom of the tab, is the area 'icons systems. " There is a checkbox for "Power". "check" the box and click on apply or OK.

Also update your graphics card drivers.

It works! Tanks a lot Johnny D.81!

  • Icons have disappeared from the screen. How to recover?

All my icons disappeared a week ago and I can't get back them. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello Moira.

You had recently done anything or made any changes to your computer just before this started? Were in line just before that happens? In both cases two different things to try. First, go to control panel, backup and restore, and click Restore. You find a restore point that is at least a week ago, and preferably at least a day or two before your icons have disappeared. Making the point of restoration solves the problem for you?

If not, or for later use, you must download, install, and then run these two anti-malware applications:

    Malwarebytes' anti-malware: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html .

    SuperAntiSpyware: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html.

Then run your antivirus application do not have? I use and recommend Avast: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html.

Let me know how you fare.
