Windows Movie Maker 6.0 won't let me import
My Windows Movie Maker for Vista (I guess 6.0) does not allow me to import any media. It is a new problem. He worked at a couple of days and all of a sudden does not allow me to import files that she allowed me to import before. After that I tried to import, it says that it cannot because of "an unknown error." If I try to import a second time, and then it says that Windows Movie Maker has stopped responding. The same thing happens when I try to delete the files from the imported section (ones I've imported before and are still there from when he worked).
Unless someone knows what's going on, I was going to just uninstall and reinstall if it was free, but could not find the 6.0 download.
Hi Powderdd,
You cannot uninstall Director of vista because it is part of the operating system.
This error may be due to some compatibility issue, you can try to update the codec on your computer, and then try to import. If it fails, you can check if the file format is supported by media player.

Windows Movie Maker, not be able to open or import .mswmm files
MovieMaker for Windows Vista Edition Home Premium
I did a movie with effects and audio and save the file. However, when I go to open the file, I can not and I have a msg which States:
The file C:\Users\Yolanda\Videos\Yolanda's BDay 34th slide show. MSWMM cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.
In computer science, I'm not notified. I need advice so that I can open and see all the hard work that was put into this project.
Thank you.

I'm moving your message to the sounds and the media.
Rename the extension .mpg video and see if you are able to view them.
If this is not the case, check with JVC for instructions on how to edit video files.
I hope this helps.

Saving audio settings of Windows Movie Maker in the film project file
I understand how to adjust the volume of my audio track, but when I save the file, in the sound adjustments are not saved. Is there an extra step in the audio recording?
Hi Gmamma,
Try the two methods mentioned below if you don't him have not yet tried and check if it works.
Method 1
The audio settings by default in Windows Movie Maker is for the audio portion of imported video and any narration or music that you add to play at an equal level, but you can change that setting if it does not give you the balance that you want. To adjust the audio levels, follow these steps:

(b) do one of the following:
to increase the level of audio on the Audio track that is part of a video clip, drag the slider toward Audio from video.
II. to increase the level of audio that is located on the audio / music, drag the slider to Audio / Music.
(c) click on close.
Method 2
Adjust the volume of each audio clip individually, as follows:
1. on the track Audio or Audio / Music of the timeline, select the audio clip that you want to adjust the volume.
2. click on Clip, point to Audio, and then click Volume.
3. to adjust the volume, do one of the following:
· To reduce the volume, drag the Audio volume level slider to the left.
· To increase the volume, drag the Audio volume level slider to the right.
· To cut the video, select the Mute clip check box.
· To restore the volume to the original volume, click reset.

My Windows Movie Maker won't let me publish my movie... Help!
I tried to publish my movie I did on Windows Movie Maker to my computer, but about 65% in edition, it stops and says:
"Windows Movie Maker cannot publish the movie to the specified location. Check that the payor source in your movie files are always available, that the publishing location is still available, that there is enough available disk space, and then try again. »
As far as I know, all mentioned in the post is fine (I checked all original source files, I tried different locations of publication, and I know that there is enough disk space, because the video is only about 2 and a half minutes), but I always get the message when it reaches 65%. I have looked through many forums on Windows Movie Maker does not, but none of them does not seem to answer my question.
Help, please!

Check the file formats that you had inserted in movie maker. You might have used files that are not supported by the Director.
Photo: jpg, png, bmp
For video: WMV, AVI
Music: mp3, wav, wmaNote: If you use google for formats of files supported by Windows Movie Maker, you will find that the list is much longer than what I've listed. This is because I find those on my list are the most reliable and you don't have to worry about not having the right codec for files.
