Windows Movie Maker-impossible to publish on DVD

I have a problem with Windows DVD Maker
When I'm working in Windows Movie Maker, complete the work and click on 'release on DVD' when I hit burn everything starts working normally when the progress bar is 18.1% the fire stops and a new window appears headed Windows DVD Maker, in the window it says "Cannot create the DVD" followed by "unspecified error".  I tried to disable the filters in other programs, it was followed by "default reset" in the Windows Movie Maker; Tools; Options.  This error always appears, and I can produce is no longer my DVD from Movie Maker.  Can you help me please?

Convert your mpg to wmv prior to import from Movie Maker.
I don't know why, but using wmv format is the format of only more foolproof.

  • Windows Movie Maker will not publish my movie on my computer

I tried to post this video to my computer from Windows Movie Maker. The video is long, only 42 seconds, so I doubt that there is a problem of length.

  • Windows Movie Maker-impossible to capture videos

Movie Maker has been so easy...

I almost gave up.  It was so easy with Movie Maker XP to create quality DVD videos.  Less than 7, I can't capture anything.  I had to buy a new webcam.  My old HD quality video camera is not recognized.  Previously, I spent about 3 hours to create a pleasant 10-minute video edited with pieces imported to import to a well know video sharing site.  With Windows 7, I've probably spent 40 hours and I can't say that I have 1 second of captured video yet.  Unfortunately, my next purchase can come from a competator...

Unless I can get Windows 7 to recognize my camera, I'm going to have capture my video using a XP machine and then save on a USB stick and transfer it to my Windows 7 computer.  Once this is done, I can import into WMM 2.0 or 2.6 (I have two now).

I wonder if I could pass in "XP" Mode and get the machine to recognize my camera... I might have to experience this. Not the best solution, but perhaps viable work around...
