Windows Partition deleted w/Win7 - Win7 are now activated on another computer?

I have a full commercial copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, which was installed on a partition on a laptop, I have used for several years.

After the upgrade to Win10 end of last year, the Windows partition has started having so many problems that I've regressed to Win7 (using the tool provided with Win10). But once this has been done, the restored Win7 installation was so bollixed upwards it would not not even start with reliability. So (not needing more) I just reformat the Windows partition and put something on it.

Now, I want to sell my Windows 7 installation media and key. I have questions about the following:

1. because I didn't have the ability to disable Win7 on the old computer, will he be able to be installed on a new? Or is the key now considered "in use" until I got disabling?

2. If the key is still considered as being used, how do I get the key made usable again?

Thank you!

Since you have a "Full" version of the retail sale, you should be able to all re - install Windows 7 and activate by simply entering your product key.  In the case you don't need to activate by phone...

I would like to buy a used copy of Windows Vista to put in my Gateway computer. Seller does not know if the certificate of authenticity will be allowed by Microsoft, but said there is an 800 number that will give me a new COA key. Is this true? Help! You can move the windows on a new computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on one computer at a time (and if it's a version upgrade the new Windows computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  • Try to activate Windows, error: this product key has already been used on another computer

(Original title: Hi I get this key product and equipment repaired already in use)

How can I fix? any suggestions please? I can't activate my windows because it says that it has already been used, the cause of this is my equipment got repaired and when he returned he disabled just, please

I tried to enter my product key for windows, and he just said "this product key has already been used on another computer" but that is the only computer where I installed my Windows 8, I tried the method by which you must contact their office by the number of the machine and you must give them 9 packed numbers and enter this told you on the phone. But I can't contact then given the number of the machine and also I tried to send the technician takes charge, but it did not help, I need help badly please. Thank you.

    Hi Christian,

I understand that after getting your equipment repaired, you cannot activate Windows 8.

As the ID of the product gets changed every time the internal components of the machine are modified and when you try to activate Windows it identifies it as a machine to new or different.

  • Symantec deleted from the registry and now my often freezing computer

I recently deleted my Vista registry Symantec because the uninstall feature wouldn't let me uninstall it. After rebooting my computer, it worked fine... for 5 minutes. Within an hour, he froze 4 times.  How can I stop my computer from freezing?

You can also use the restoration of the system to a point before you uninstalled Norton Product (especially if you have changed the registry).  Do you know when this problem started (when you uninstalled it)?  Try a system restore to a point in time before the problem started (give him room to manoeuvre a little if you can).  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

THEN use the Norton removal tool posted above by Michael Murphy to uninstall Norton product correctly.  I suspect that this works very well and you won't have any trouble you are experiencing now.  This can solve the problem without causing other problems or necessary steps (such as the need to do a scan CFS or more, a repair/upgrade re-installation of the system).  Of course, you can run the SFC program if you want to check your file system corrupt system and perhaps correct if any exist - it's a good thing to do from time to time.

    I hope this helps.

  • Can I install Windows XP from an ISO pirate legally if I have another computer with a product key?

Hello. I have a moment Dell Optiplex SX280 provided with Windows XP Professional (and product key) does not. I also have a broken (probably irreparably) Dell dimension 8400 supplied with Windows XP Edition family (with a key). Because I have these keys, it would be legal to install Windows XP (a pirated version) on my laptop Compaq Presario CQ42 that at first run Windows 7? I would appreciate a response.

    Thank you.

(Attention that I am not a supporter of piracy)

    The answer is no.

  • Windows XP, uninstall it from the laptop and reinstall on another computer

Can I remove my legitimate XP OS in my laptop and reinstall on a new office, I constrcted?

    Hi guystuller,

It depends on your version of Windows XP.  If it was preinstalled on your laptop, it is an OEM version and is only linked to this laptop.  If you have purchased an XP upgrade, the new Bureau should first of a previous version of Windows on it.  If you have purchased a full version, then you can install it with no problem and no previous operating system.

    I hope this helps!

  • Win7 is capable of being used on another computer after upgrading Win8 and 8.1?

I got a computer with Windows 7 above. I bought the computer in kit form and assembled and installed Win7 as OEM. In 2012 I upgraded to Win8 64 bit. Now, I got free upgrade to 8.1 Win.  I had the 8 to win with a discount by hugh during the promo period because I had Win 7.

So what is the Win7 are still stuck to this computer or I can use it on another computer? With Win8 the Win7 product key has been replaced.

I am sure the Win7 will work on another computer, because the product key is not used and it will update OK. But is it legal to use it because I upgraded to Win8?

    Dan

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

    I have Dell XPS9000, Win7 Premium, x 64, I7/920, Nvidia 260, 12 GB of RAM

    Hello

Thanks for the reply Thahaseena. I think a lot of people have the same problem and it's partially the fault of Microsoft. It is the solution of the problem that works for most people if the heart of the problem is corrupt USB driver (s). The USB driver might get damaged due to defective USB device. This was my case. I bought the 16 GB Sandisk USB which has serious problems. It seems that it is real default, rather than fake. However, I am still investigating.

    This is what happens:

-Start the copy of the file and at one point gets stuck. After all, you get that infamous error 0 x 80070079. If you try to shoot this defective USB before the error pops out, it's really dangerous abduction of USB that could cause corruption of the driver for the USB controller. This happened to me. So, after this point, none of the USB devices will be capable of the greatest copy files 1 GB +, because my USB drivers are now corrupt and and the transfer is slower. Fast devices and more small files work great, but if you have low speed USB 2.0 device it will not be able to complete the transfer of files at one time and you will receive the error.

    Solution:

-Stop using the defective device to avoid a repetition of the problem (if you know who is defective). If you do not know, must be eliminated one by one.

-Disconnect all USB cables except the keyboard cable (at least that is not based USB)

-Use tabs and the arrows on the keyboard to get to Device Manager

-Remove all usb drivers, including the one that is connected to the keyboard

-You may need to force the closure - the dawn of the computer.

-Do not turn on computer. Get on your knees and unplug the power cord. If you forget this step, the process of booth PC will load faulty driver again. (faulty or bad it depends on the scenario)

-By unplugging the power cord and let it stay for at least 5 minutes, you force your PC to renegotiate the devices and drivers

    -Connect all USB cables

-Check the usb status icon in the status bar. Sometimes, you may need to restart the computer if windows asks you to do. Restart the computer if you are not sure what I'm talking about.

    - and... Here we are. Bingo!

Now, if you plug the faulty device once again, you will need to repeat the process. However, in my case I return to the seller or the manufacturer for repair. You can use this procedure to force the outcrop of USB drivers. That's why I say I blame partially Microsoft for that matter because there is no utility or command available to force this action automatically do that when the problem occurs. This could potentially help people with the question when a few USB ports stop working if its pilots involved.

If it worked for you, please press useful Votes.

    Thank you.

I created a partition of HARD drive in order to install a system in multiboot using XP and Vista, but I did mess up the BONES of the two. Now I want to do a clean install of Vista ONLY, but I don't know how to get rid of the partition! * Example: Computer management > disk management > right-click on the volume (M) > Delete Volume * but I get an error: "Windows cannot delete the active system partition on this disk" can someone help me to get my Vista to original?

P.S. I have the "Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium32 - bit Operating System Disk" provided with my computer when I bought it new. Thank you! -Jeff

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

Delete the existing Partitions during the process.

  • deleted windows partition

can someone please. I have a pavilion g6 and accdiently remove the windows partition of my hard drive to try the Ubuntu operating system. After many problems and compatibility issues, I would like to recover the partition I deleted by mistake

is there a way I can download the score and some how to install it on Ubuntu? I have by mistake deleted the partition and want to make this operating system Ubuntu to Windows can someone please help? I have a Budget of 0 to money $

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( it must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a very respected source (Digital River).

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

4 as a general rule 60-100 GB for W8 + / W10 is recommended. You can also create a minimum Windows (30-50 GB) and use an external drive D: for documents applications for portability.
