Windows Photo Viewer runs on my photos
When I open some images in the windows photo viewer it extends over them so that they are not. Here is a screenshot:
http://i241.Photobucket.com/albums/FF20/rts_LA/stretched.jpg
Photos are very good when you see thumbnails and are very well if I view it in a web browser, but the windows photo viewer that always makes them. They are only the jpeg image files, so I really don't understand what is going. Any thoughts much appreciated!
Open the file in Paint.
Save it as a PNG file and your good to go.

Looking for a last update to the Windows Photo Viewer. Need help. Thank you!
Photo Viewer is part & parcel of your operating system (Windows 7). I never saw an update to the photo viewer.
What problems might you have that you think that an update might resolve itself?
Windows Photo Gallery is part of a suite called Windows Essentials (Live).

Printing multiple pages to a TIFF file multiple using Windows Photo Viewer
Original title: printing problem with a tiff file
Hi guys
How can I print 2 or 3 leaves only out of 68 pages in TIFF file when I open with 'Window Photo viewer'?
When press "print", it appear just 'paper size', 'quality' and 'paper' only!
Please kindly teach me to turned the pages I need.
Waiting for your reply or response!
Hello
You did not mention the version of the operating system that is running in the computer with the problem. We know the version of operating system on this computer.
Windows Photo Viewer application allows you to view multi-page TIFF files, but it does not allow to print a number of pages in a multi-page TIFF file. In order to achieve this functionality, you can have a look at the workaround solutions provided in the answerin the following threads:
(Note: in the link above, a third-party program is proposed as a workaround.) Please keep in mind that using a non-Microsoft program is at risk of the user and for all the problems arising from the use of these programs, the user must contact the manufacturer of the respective program)
I'm not one of these workarounds should help you. If you still need help on the question or with Windows, get back with more details and we will be happy to be of assistance.

Windows Photo Viewer - impossible to resize the window
original title: Windows Photo Viewer window control
When you view a picture with Windows Photo Viewer, it always opens in the mode full screen. The window rolls back down, but then resize by dragging the borders and all the tools are out of reach. However several times that I close the program "restore down", (even by using the CTRL, main and making it last window close) it's always back to full screen for the next time I open a photo with her. I tried to adjust the resolution but it did not help and the resolution is fine in all other respects. Any suggestions?... Thank you

Windows Photo Viewer displays only the gray scale. No color.
I am running Windows 7. When I print a document on the web, it prints in color. If print it by using the default program (Windows Photo Viewer) it prints in grayscale. Have checked all the settings, but can't seem to find what is causing this problem. I tried printing from other programs and I don't get color.
Everybody out there affected by this problem and what did you do to correct the problem. Thank you.

You can turn the photo in Windows Photo Viewer
Judging by the large number of comments, rotating an image in Photo Viewer seems to be a common problem and I do not understand why. Have spent a lot of time to wade in these messages, and am even more close to an answer. I followed the instructions in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Rotate-a-picture-using-Windows-Photo-Viewer and everything works well until you reach step 3, where the image is in the viewer of photos ready to be turned except that neither rotation arrow functions. Would appreciate a person offering a convincing explanation to the simple function to transform an image on the screen vertically on the side. Thank you very much.
This is for all images or only some?
Check that the 'Read only' attribute is not defined for the relevant photos. Right click on the image, click 'Properties' and in the [general] tab make sure "Read-only" is not checked. If this is the case, try unchecking it.
If you can not yet use turn, run a sfc/scannow and see if it detects and solves all problems.

Accidental deletion of Windows Photo Viewer
I am currently running Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. I accidentally deleted the Windows Photo Viewer. How can I do to reload the driver. I already updated to Internet Explorer 9 to 11, and I already rebooted my Windows 7 from the disk without being able to see JPEG files. They open in Adobe Lightroom, that I also, but I would like to display the thumbnails in my files quickly with Photo Viewer. Help, please. Thank you.
Click on any image file and choose 'open with' then "program by default"
Windows Photo Viewer should be listed here.

Windows Photo Viewer cannot open *.tif files
Hi Windows Photo Viewer don't open no * tif files on computers Dell desktop running Windows Pro 8.1 and Windows 7 Professional.
Do not use a drive.
Tried system restore, but does not solve the problem.
Windows posted a temporary fix (https://support.microsoft.com/en-sg/kb/2635500), but recommended "If you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend you wait for the next software update, which will include this fix."
Windows finally gets out the permanent fix for users? Still waiting.
The patch in KB2635500 appears directed at problems with files TIF MultiPage (usually of the faxes). Do you do business with? You get the error message that is mentioned in the article?
If this isn't the case, what exactly happens when you try to open a single TIF file (non-multi-site)? Is it just does not open or you get an error message? If the latter, what is the full text of the error message?
It is possible that the Windows System File Checker can solve this problem. Open an elevated command prompt (right click > run as administrator) and enter the command:
sfc/scannow
See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833
Or you could abandon the Windows Photo Viewer and use the much more versatile application free IrfanView: http://www.irfanview.com/

Windows Photo Viewer does not not and open pictures
I did a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit last week. I had Win XP and started all over with Win 7. I installed everything on my PC and everything seems to work except the photo viewer. I can't open, and it is defined as the default value for all the photos. When I opened a photo, I'd get a COM surrogate error and another window on this error asking if I'd like to send information to Microsoft. I clicked Yes and all the errors disappeared. Now when I open a photo I can see the thinking of system and then nothing happens. I tried the following command to test / fix.
Used paint to create multiple documents of different types (jpg, bmp, png). None of these types is open in Photo Viewer.
All other PCs on Win 7 in my house can open the same photos very well so I know that they are not damaged. I have the shared disk that has pictures on it.
Run the SCF/scannow - this has not fixed the problem.
Installed to the Windows Photo Gallery - this has not fixed the problem.
I noticed that Windows error reports an APPCRASH whenever I try to open the photo viewer. There is also an Application error reports Windows error that says that there was an application error for dllhost.exe.
What should I do to fix this? Can I reinstall the photo viewer or do a repair system?
Previously, did you use
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor
If not, you will need to check with the manufacturing of your computer for win 7 drivers available for your video / graphics card...

Dear all,
I have this problem:
All JPEG files are normal, I tried to open with the help of Adobe Photoshop CS5. But if I use it to watch my files, it takes too long to load.
This is the case if I try to open them using the Windows Photo Viewer:
It's when I try to open it with Adobe Photoshop CS5:
So the file is fine, they are non-empty JPEG.
The difficulties I've tried before posting on the forum:
- Fix it with Microsoft to photo viewer
Fix It for animals works well and could not find any problem though, so nothing is fixed.
- Removal 'External event AMD' Service
Nothing change
- Removal of color for the monitor profiles
Nothing to change also
- Updated all the drivers and windows
Nothing change
- Boot in Safe Mode
The thumbnails are displayed correctly and "Windows Photo Viewer" display my images perfectly well BUT...
- Start in Normal Mode with all the Services of persons with disabilities (except Microsoft)
The problem happens again, that the thumbnails are blank and the images also.
- Cleaning disc (with checked "thumbnails")
The problem still exists
- Set programs "Default" for the Windows Photo Viewer
The problem still exists
- Run SFC/scannow From The Command Line
The problem still exists, and the SFC somehow told me that my Windows is fine
- Removal of hidden miniature manual
The problem still exists
- Windows Live Essentials installation and use the 'Photo Gallery'
Photo Gallery crashes all the time after asking if I want to associate files "JXR" or not, but I'm not on this topic, but this does not solve the problem.
I tried every step, I have found on various types of forum, but not the last magic: Reinstall Windows, I really want to solve this problem without cleaning Windows installation if possible, and I'm so in love with "Windows Photo Viewer" because it's simple, fast, and it is very precious to me. I tried free viewer and FastStone Image Viewer but is a bit complicated, controls are small and it always comes out in full screen, I need this so baaad.
My computer is:
A10-7800 Kaveri AMD processor
RAM 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 black
Western Digital 1 TB Caviar Black hard drive
Motherboard ASRock FM2A88X +.
Power supply Corsair VS550
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Thanks in advance :) I really want this wrong, please...
Dear Ramesh,
I thank very you much for your time to help me, after tumbling around with other solutions, windows finished in "the RPC server is blahblah" thing a bit, then I reinstalled everything from the ground up and the problem disappeared... I don't know what happened to the previous window, I am now using the same drivers, same software, except perhaps the earlier had too many junks (I think this is the classic problem with windows, after sometimes he collected too and begins to act dumb)
It seems that the problem came, neither windows nor the drivers... But too bad it should remain as an "Unsolved Mystery": P
Anyway thanks, see again you and Merry Christmas and happy new year to you
