Windows recovery disc 8 (64) does not

I have a HP Pavilion (2223nr) g7 Win8 64-bit running. Some registry files have been damaged, and my restore points are missing. After trying everything I knew how, I ordered HP recovery discs. But they do not work. I'd rather do a refresh rather than wipe everything, but when he asks than drives and I put them in, it says "invalid recovery media" and does not go further.

Also, I checked the other posts similar to this, and nothing works for me. I even tried to do a full restore, refresh/recovery of boot (with f11), etc. Nothing seems to work. Does not seem related material. Everything worked fine until I tried to uninstall some adware using AdwCleaner. It failed and began to happen strange things: few applications have shown in Control Panel to uninstall programs, the computer wouldn't start for a while, shortcuts stopped working, tiles have disappeared, some programs were always installed, but couldn't be found, etc..

Why the HP recovery discs would not work (I'm sure I gave them good serial number)? And if I am finally able to do a full restore, I'll be able to get MS Office back (I have the license key, but not disks)? Is - included in the 'application and Driver Recovery DVD?

Well, I received including this one. Apparently the recovery disks, they sent me work as a single parameter. I was going through the options listed in the menu 'f11' to try for a refreshment or a full recovery. Instead, I should have read the instructions and you press "esc". The instructions on the disk are absolutely not working: "insert the disk into the optical drive of your computer and follow the on-screen instructions.» Made me no hand.

However, there was a sheet of paper that I should have paid attention to what is come with the drives. He gave the same instructions listed here (thanks, MathewT). I still don't know about ghosts discs that claim to give you the opportunity to refresh your computer without losing the files.

And thanks, but no thanks to HP and the 83 people who resembled this post while I thought about it. I hope that I have never post here again.

  • Windows 8 disc locked; It does not start at the home screen, will not auto repair and doesn't give me access to safe mode

Nightmare; perfectly working windows 7 64-bit configuration I upgraded (stupidly) to Windows 8 (it seems installing a 32-bit version for my troubles). I installed a driver for a having previously worked USB WiFi adapter (that is, it was working fine before the upgrade) and now it does not start. It says "irql less than equal", says his collection of information and restarts to a kind of repair mode, none of the options which work because he complains that the hard drive is locked. Any attempt to start in SafeMode (SHIFT + F8) fails, with mnode security options panel shows ever in service options. Really, a very incomplete piece of software - I should know better than to install version #1 what whatsoever.

Suggestions for moving forward? No, I don't have a record of victory 8 because I updated my installation of windows 7 perfectly work in updating online.

Simple repair that has worked for me.

If you have a windows install disc (if you borrow 1 from a friend)

run the disk at startup, press on f9 to choose cd rom as boot, press a key when it asks you,

Let the disc to the refreshment of startup repair section, choose Advanced & go to the command prompt and type.

    Bootrec.exe

    Bootrec/fixmbr

    Bootrec.exe/fixboot

    Bootrec.exe/RebuildBcd

When all this is over, it will show that your o/s and the reader don't worry if it shows as D instead of C, it is because the system resource use C at this point, it will ask you if you want to add this player to your startup type Y and your good to go, your old win 8 will draw upward as it did before spread the word.

How do I solve this problem

    Hello

Assuming that it's just a problem with the recovery media, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( it must be the same version that originally shipped with your laptop - IE if your laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium, that is the file you need to download ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly file on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Image is - Digital River.

    Images of Windows 7.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • Complete the recovery of the PC does not

My husband sold his laptop computer to a friend at work, and the friend told me that it stopped working so that he gives it to my husband. My husband has been able to make it work again after booting in safe mode. We are able to use internet and change the display and the small tasks like this, but it doesn't make us change any important information or change the user/administrator settings. I noticed that all the options are there, it's just that the options that I can't access with a screen bit by them.

It also do us download and install all the programs. We can also remove or uninstall any programs. The download will go up, but when I go to run the exe an error pops up. It is said that something like Windows cannot find the file (whatever it is called). And he said also something on a Shell running the error code 2.

All the main controls are lost. I can't type in msconfig or all large orders like this. He says that the file is missing. Of course, this laptop has a major virus.

I tried the F8 menu to fix the computer, but it gave me an error. I also tried to use the keys ctrl + F11 to restore that, but he would not come.

I found a site that allows you to create a windows recovery disc. I did the drive and ran at the top of the tower. First I tried to fix the computer disk and it said that it was impossible to fix. I then tried to completely restore the computer but it says that there is no valid back upward. I've never backed up your computer and don't know where to find the back up, if there is one; and if she doesn't let me watch.

I also tried to reinstall vista. He told me to type in the product code, so I did and it seemed that it would install but an error pops up and says that the file was missing.

I speak very well the computer, but I'm good in following the directions if they get completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Melissa W,.

Since you are unable to re - install Windows Vista and you also get the message "the file was missing," which could be a media problem.

I suggest that you contact Dell and get them media to reinstall Windows Vista

  • Try to install Indiana Jones and the infernal Machine, Windows (8 / ME) compatibility mode does not

I try to install Indian Jones and the Doomsday Machine on my computer.
I tried using the compatibility mode for windows 98 / ME, but it does not work. When I run the program splash arrives, but when I click on install it closes then nothing happens. There are no errors.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
Also I install the original CD, and it has worked before in older computers (running Win 98 of course).
    Any help would be appreciated.

The game should run fine under Win7 64 bit. The problem is that the installer is only 16 bit and is no longer supported in Windows. Just use a different Setup program. Try www.markusegger.at. I'm running the Doomsday Machine, Alliance Xwing, Xwing v's Tiefighter, and Grim fandango all on 64 bit Win7 all using custom Setup programs.

I also used the original X-wing, Tie-fighter and fate of Atlantis via Dosbox.

  • I have a Windows XP Home Edition, which does not list if it's 32-bit or 64-bit

I have an OEM Windows XP Home Edition, which does not list if it's 32-bit or 64-bit. How do I know what

To check if your XP operating system is 64-bit, you only have to right click on "My computer" and select 'Properties' to display 'system properties '.   If your XP operating system is XP Professional 64-bit, 64-bit will be indicated in the information displayed in the general tab.  However, XP 32 bit operating systems won't have 32-bit, there is no information about this particular point at all.  The XP Home Edition will be 32-bit, but this information does not appear.  XP Professional, however, can be either 32-bit or 64-bit.  If it is 64-bit, it will be indicated on the general tab of the system properties. However, if it is XP Professional 32-bit, nothing is there to indicate that the operating system is 32-bit.

Vista and Windows 7, unlike XP, OS will indicate if they are 32-bit or 64-bit.

When you try to import a .mp4 file in windows movie maker, the program does not list the file when I search for it in his file.  Help, please.

As I suggested previously, conversion to a format like
. WMV before you import it into Movie maker may be the solution.

The free Converter from Microsoft can be a place to start:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Download Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) (freeware)
    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24601
    (runs under WinXP SP3 / Vista / 7)

    When you install the program...
    Start Microsoft Expression Encoder 4
    (Start / programs / Microsoft Expression /)
    Microsoft Expression Encoder 4)

On the "Load a new project" screen...
    Left click... "Transcoding project '...

When the program opens, click on... File / import...

(If at any time you get lost while browsing
the program of... to... Window / active Reset
Type or workspace... CTRL + SHIFT + R)

Look for the file/s that you want to convert.
(If files do not appear... open the fall
    window and choose... All files)

Click (highlight) left the files and the left on the Open button.

You can see the files in the "Multimedia content" pane

In the right column... left click on the tab "Output"...

Open the drop directory window and choose an output folder.
(This is where you will find your converted file)

On the left, click on the button "encode".

Wait... video encoding CPU intensive and can
be a slow process. It is always best if you do not have
    multi-task while files are encoded.

Now... try import you again. File WMV in Movie Maker.

    More converters:

There are to many converters available on the net...

need to experiment to find the best result.
