Windows rescue team

Hello
I received a call from a woman attached to a team called Windows Rescue team. When I told her off the coast, she threatened to unplug my internet because I have a few worms and malware that infect other computers and they got my CSL of Windows computers to contact me. She passed me on an another COMPUTER expert who said he works for the company with a website "www.it-councilor.com". He asked me to trust him and do something to my computer to get rid of this malware. Microsoft Windows hiring the aforementioned company to work for them? Windows block or stop the use of the internet to a Windows user?

Fake phone calls to technical support

Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

Please see:

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-GB/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx

Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.

These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.

  • Load a Windows rescue disk the same as reformatting and reinstalling Windows?

    Win32/Ramnit.z and fitness.

Hi, once you've found the Win32/Ramnit.z on one of our computers/cash registers I need to reformat and load the operating system on. A cam XP rescue & recovery disc with the computer and I was wondering if this drive will do the same work as the reformatting.

    Hello

A recovery disk contains tools and information that can be used to 'recover' your system using the information stored on your hard drive. This 'information' could be the I386 folder, this could be a hidden restore partition, or it could be something else entirely. The key is that the recovery disc uses a lot of information on your hard drive.

An installation disc contains the software to install. A Windows installation disk contains a copy of Windows that is copied from the disk and installed on the hard drive of your computer. There is not need additional tools or information already exists on the hard drive.
