Windows S3 key question

Have had my S3 for 6 months now and have noticed lately that windows key seems to randomly turn and when entering, suddenly my taskbar will show when I type T, my gadgets will be display on RHS (G) screen, etc. as if the windows key is being depressed is not.

I suppose to clean the key as the first step but do not want to remove the key again.

Also have updated the keyboard driver for later but noted that through the Device Manager, there are 2 keyboard devices (HID Keyboard Device) showing, have two same Details of the pilot (6.2.9200.16548) show 2 pilots, 1 x kbdclass.sys and kbdhid.sys 1 x.

This problem appears randomly and seems to happen a few minutes after starting.

Thoughts?

Thank you very much

As a result, it is the Fn key that seems to be reversed. When you press on, keyboard works normally, not pressed, all return to their characters of Fn keys.

Thank you

We suggest to contact technical support in your region for further assistance in this matter.

  • Question about "Windows 8.1 DG to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit" and Windows product key

I have acquired a recnet ThinkPad T450 fdrom a retialer online (NCIX) and I hav ea a few questions about the installed Windows operating system.

Before I just go further, HRE are some information about my particular system.

    Lenovo ThinkPad T450

    Model: 20BV00BUS

    CPU: Intel Core i5-4300U

    RAM: 4 GB

Under the product description, it was stated "Windows 8.1 DG Windows 7 Pro 64." My understnading, the ThiknPad has been installed with Windows 8.1, but downgraded to Windows 7. There is also a Windows 8 Pro badge sticker at the bottom of the matchine.

Is it possible, at the end of the user/consumer, to alter the functioning ti repressive back Windows 8.1?

Can I create a recovery with Windows 8.1 disk?

A separate but related matter relates to the Windows product key.

I noticed the Ultrabook do not come with a sticker / label with the Windows product key (i.e. COST). Some quick research indicated that the Windows key is programmed into the BIOS.

This indeed true (I wish an audit)?

The key is visible in some way (for when you need to reinstall the operating system. I have not tried to enter the BIOS at the moment)?

Thank you for taking the time to consider my question.

    Kind regards

    Victor L.

    Hi Victor,

I'm in the same boat as you type, but want to keep the facilities of Windows 7 rather than pass them to 8. Just like you, I buy our Lenovo from different retailers and they come with windows 7 installed through the Windows 8 lower upgrade program.

We had one or two laptops come with a recovery media (for windows 8/8.1 only) but have noticed that all laptops now come with no physical media or codes for the recovery. WIN8 stickers, you described is more came with the license key on the sticker (it comes to stop you using the same license again and again, microsoft will get more money if you buy another license etc.). I also saw that the key is essentially located in the BIOS but were not able to test what we use any of windows 8. I use it even at home!

To answer your question, you can get a recovery of Lenovo for Windows 8 media!

Go to the following link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/lenovorecovery

(It help you understand why this method is used on this page as well)

    Select Start,

Please have your serial number of your laptop, (to find it go to this link: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-product-name)

If you qualify (which you will very probably) Lenovo will ship for free, recovery disks give it a go, took me 2 minutes.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards, Max.

Stop using XP in April 2014.

Although I know that some companies still using Windows 2000, so...

You're not real specific-, but the basic answer to your question is to find a list of the updates through the catalogue and download/save to some media.  Integrate as much as possible in support of installation that you plan to use after the date of 'dead' of the then 13 year operating system and several.

Drivers are not the responsibility of Microsoft unless it happens to be Microsoft hardware.  Go through the manufacturer (and it is possble the manufacturer will be * no * drivers for older operating systems supply - like XP.)

Is there a COA sticker on the case - or a sticker to Windows 8?

Sticker even like all the other 705 Elitedesk have been ordered.

Yes - but is it a Windows 7 sticker, or a sticker to Windows 8?

Assuming it's a sticker of WIndows 7, all you have to do is to use activation by phone-

activation by telephone (call of the operator)
    Click the Start button
    in the search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and press the Enter key
Follow the instructions, but when asked what service you need the ansafone phone, don't answer - it should oblige the operator to answer, who can deal with you

  • Lost Windows license key

I have an old Compaq 610 Notebook PCand the hard drive failed, unfortunately.  Can I replace the hard drive, but the Windows licesnse key sticker is so worn that I can read is no longer the characters.  How can I retrieve my license key?

Sorry, but there is no way to retrieve the PID key that was printed on the COA Microsoft sticker. Further, the key that would have been recovered since the failed hard drive now is not the same as that on the sticker. You will need to use the recovery/restoration of HP/Compaq media to install the factory OS on the new hard drive. If you do not have this media, you can be able to demand for HP business support.

  • HP Pavilion DV6 laptop: how to find the windows product key

Hi MarcoPolo777, for the key, you can use a software called produkey.

I bought the laptop to an authorized HP provider, but he says that the company does not provide a repair CD Windows. The license key is not located in the BIOS of the laptop, it is not yet available on any sticker on any external part of the laptop. Was thinking of switching 5400 RPM for the SSD because I feel its too slow way. I was wondering if I need to disable my Windows 10 key before making a new start?

    CasualRisk

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post on your question of activation of Win10 and wanted to help.

In Win10, the product key is stored in the motherboard UEFI firmware.  Because you're not change that, you risk to disable.

In addition, the activation key is stored on servers for Activation of MS, and that information are NOT linked to the HARD or SDD drive you are using.  I can say this because once I got Win10 works as I wanted, I migrated there a disk HARD of a DDI and nothing has changed - except the performance is much improved!

    Good luck

  • Microsoft will never ask me to send my Windows license key to them?

Is there any situation (home or business) where Microsoft send me a Windows license key will be asked? Or such a request will be a scam?

The only time that Ms will never ask for your key is if you contact them first - and if you ask a question that relates directly to your key (for example, problems with activation)

MS will normally only ask your product ID - who is not "data personally identifiable" according to the rules, since thousnds of machines may have the same ID.

NO ONE will be cold-call you and ask for your product key - unless they are crooks.

  • List of all Windows shortcut keys

    Hello.
I generally assign some shortcut keys for different applications on Windows. For example, I assigned Ctrl + Alt + I key to open Internet Explorer from anywhere in Windows, and similarly I assigned Ctrl + Alt + N to open Notepad. I also use many touches of shortcut within the Word application. My question is how to get a complete list of all currently enabled on my windows shortcut keys? I need what I know are the keys that are available to me if I want to assign a shortcut key for a new application.
    Thank you.

  • Windows XP - key product badly entered in list, can I change because it will not validate?

I recently had to wipe my machine XP. I reintalled but, she has two product keys from my piece of paper, I think that I entered that wrong because I tried to do a windows update and it said that my software would not validate. Can I change for the other product key of my piece of paper, or what I have to reinstall again!

    Hi TrivenaMcCarlie,

You should not use the same product key that you used during the installation process to activate Windows.

After the installation is complete, you need to activate the copy of Windows and you will not receive any Windows Update unless the copy of Windows is enabled.
