Satellite L30 - 11 d: Vista watch 1.6 GHZ instead of 1.8 Ghz CPU

I have a Satellite L30 - 11 d running Vista Basic and appears since the latest BIOS up to this day I get a lot of crashes on blue screen.

I looked in windows journal and it is said that the BIOS is not correct for my machine.
I know that I have an INTEL CELERON M440 CPU 1, 86GHz pocessor I used an INTEL tool to confirm.
Yet when I go into the DEVICE MANAGER and look in pocessor drive it tells me that the drive is INTEL CELERON (R) M CPU 420 @ 1.6 GHZ

Now, if this has been changed by the BIOS update or has been put in place to the I do not know the manufacturers.
Someone enlighten me please.

Thank you.

The fake name of CPU has nothing to do with the BIOS!

Remove the CPU from the Device Manager and restart the Vista.
AprΦs dΘmarrage again the Vista operating system will recognize the CPU again, and will correct the title of the CPU.
It seems that there is a bug in Vista!

  • Satellite L30-113 - no sound after the downgrade from Vista to XP

    Hello to everyone.
I recently bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L30-113
    with vista preintalled.

As many users around the vista of the world seemed very slow for me so I decided to go back to Windows XP Pro.
The problem is that I can't hear any sound in my laptop.
In fact I found some drivers for Realtek controller High definition audio
    but they have nothing did.

I give the floor to toshiba in Greece and they told me that this laptop is designed only for windows vista!
    Can this be true?
    Help, please

    Hello

In my eyes, you have misunderstood something. Of course, that the laptop can handle Windows XP and it should work correctly, but as you say the device was shipped with Vista and so the guys at Toshiba support don't provide any support for WinXP on this laptop.

As far as I know page driver Toshiba also provide drivers for win XP. Therefore, visit European driver of Toshiba page and choose the good laptop-> PSL33 Sat L30-113

You will find a driver 5.10.0.5273 version XP. This should work!

    Have a nice day ;)

    Hello

You have yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager?

On the Toshiba site I founded an installation instructions document. Did you follow this order of installation for all drivers and tools?

Also please check if Device Manager you have enabled DMA mode for the primary and secondary IDE controller.

  • Satellite L30-101: could not connect to Orange Livebox via WI - FI

    Hi all

Bought my first laptop today, a Satellite L30-101 with Vista. I finally managed to connect to my livebox after filming of encryption and the Vista firewall. Now, I turned as well on I can not connect. I get a msg of error saying 'the settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements of the network. I tried to repair the i.p address and tried to change the security settings in the properties.

Ideally, I would like to completely remove the existing profile then the Connection Wizard may start. This is probably very simple, but I am new to wifi and Vista and would be grateful if anyone could offer advice.

    Concerning

    Hi again,
Following the previous, I have more the error msg. I changed the Livebox WPA security only and on the L30, I put the WPA-personal security type and TKIP encryption.

  • Satellite L30 - not replay sound mic-in

    Hi all

When I listen to a webcam video that I took to test the alls ok, there is no reread noise in the movie, I tried 2 new different webcams with the same result. When I test the microphone in his auditor windows, the green bar moves ok but then he tells me there is no microphone connected to the laptop... very strange when the green bar moves when I talk... I'm starting to think that it is the mic-in, that I went through all the settings in the box from m.

The sound is ok when I play music or anything else, which is why I think that it s something to do with the mic-in or adjustment of the microphone... I m confused :)

Any ideas what is wrong s.

    Thank you

    Hi nado-gr4,.

It's a little confusing, how you connect the webcam to your laptop? Via the port USB and you're using the internal mic of your webcam or you have connected an external?

I think that you must set the default device in the recording of the sound settings tab: Control Panel > sound > recording tab.

You should see the connected device and set it as the default device. If not right click on that window and select Show disabled devices and Show disconnected devices.

    Check this box!

  • Satellite L30-SL33: unknown device after the device external USB connection

    Dear all,

I bought a Satellite L30-PS33 with Vista, but due to driver with my existing peripheral equipment problems, I decide to switch from Vista to XP.
I have an internal problem with usb HUB, even if the installation is OK with design windows XP drivers generic when I plug a USB key, I get the message: Unknow device.

Can you give a link to find good drivers I should use in my computer?
It is very difficult to use a computer without any USB equipment?

Thank you and I hope you have any solution for me.

    Best regards.

    Chris

There is no USB drivers for all Windows operating systems.
Still is it USB driver are part of the Windows system and you will find not all drivers use 3rd for a USB port.

In your case, I recommend updating BIOS and update Win XP to the last State. All updates and patches XP must be installed!

  • Satellite L30-134: is it possible to determine the frequency of 533 MHz RAM?

    Hello!

I have Satellite L30-134 and used a module of 1 GB / 667 MHz (sic!) for a while. Same Toshiba says maximum speed 533 MHz memory he recognizes module PC-5300 and sets exactly to 667 MHz.

I decided to increase the RAM and bought another PC-5300 1 GB stick.
... RAM is only 1 GB with two modules together. The two sticks are OK - L30 sees 1 GB and works well with each of them separately.

I know that the reason is that Toshiba couldn't work with greater speed on the two banks (or something like that).

So. It seems to be a good idea to set the frequency of 533 MHz and it should work.
The only question is to know how to do it? BIOS Setup is almost empty and does not have these settings.

One advise, please (except to buy sticks more :)

    Hello

Laptop Satellite L30-134 is a processor 1.5 GHz of Intel-Celeron-M (Yonah).
    Is this good?

This processor supports a 533 Mhz bus and if you use modules of 533 Mhz RAM then will automatically solve this value!
Simply put, you do not need to change anything manually! Everything is controlled automatically.

  • After downgrading from Vista Satellite L30-101 does not read DVD

    Hey,.

Like many people, I didn't like Vista and so returned to the use of Windows XP.

In doing so, I lost a lot of things like the ability to watch DVDs and sound, most of these problems fixed so easily by downloading the drivers from this site.

However, even after the DVD driver download I can't read DVDs yet.
When you try to play through Windows media player I get say error message that I did not have a MPEG-2 decoder, in the section web site help, it suggests where to get one, but you have to play for each other.
After having one in the first place, I don't think I should buy a new one.

If anyone has a solution it would be greatly appretiated if they could let me know.

    Thank you

    PS I have a Satellite L30-101

I think you have a codec problem, but I'm not sure. Maybe you should install the latest version of Media Player and codec Xvid, DivX and AC3. These are free (google it!). Or you can try alternative software, such as WinDVD or PowerDVD, you can try the demo versions.

  • Satellite L30: Watch DVD problem - slowly and the sound is distorted

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L30-115. I use WinDVD preinstalled to watch DVD. everything was fine until yesterday. Since then, my DVD drive seems to have problems with playback of DVD movies (original).

It's a little slower that should be, and the sound is a bit distorted. The same DVD my laptop no problems to play now, it seems impossible to play properly.

I tried system recovery to date, everything was good, but that did not help.

Everything's fine, when I play movies from my hard drive, but apparently my DVD Player cannot play fair.
I tried various combinations (turn on/off digital playback in Device Manager), but nothing seems to work.

    No idea how to fix?

First of all, give it a try with cleaning the lens of your DVD player. Several times a lens dirty or CD/DVD that makes impossible to correct read causing delays.
Because the movies read from the HARD disk correctly, it does not seem to be a related problem of codec, but... you should still try to use other DVD player software to ensure that WinDVD is not the source.

I suggest you also to keep longer, to install software of reduction of CD speed during normal use of all the days of the life of your drive. As you know, the disc spins a lot faster than actually required inside the car which complicates the procedure for reading (especially on the scratched CD) and consumes more energy, too.

Reduce speed solves problems like the one you have several times. Here is a link to the Version of acoustic silencer of TOSHIBA 1.00.008 (from page of the pilot satellite L30), give it a try:

    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/satellite/sl30psl33/XP/acoustic-silencer/acsil-PSL33-XP-100008-en.zip
(This software runs independent you have European/American version of laptop L30, even on a different model as Satellite Pro 6100 a.s.o..)

    Kind regards
    chain

  • Re: How can I improve the performance of Vista on a Satellite L30-10s?

I have worked in Vista on a Satellite L30 - 10s for a while and get very poor performance. It takes several seconds just to respond to the movement of the scroll bar. I put Control Plan-> system and Maintenance... System Properties-> visuals to "Adjust for best performance", but it gave no noticeable improvement. The RAM is 446 MB - upgraded this would improve performance? If so, what would the good do & spec to buy?

    > It RAM is 446 MB - upgraded this would improve performance?

Of course, it is not enough to run vista with good performance. 1 GB minimum Ram required to run Vista, better than 2 GB ram

    To the l30 product specifications:

    standard: 256 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM (533 MHz)

You can be upgraded up to 2 GB DDR 2

  • Satellite L30-105: how to change shared video memory on Vista...

My question is the same as we can read on this url:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=20578

But the solution only works with windows xp, anyone know a driver version with which the 'frame buffer' tab is present?
The latest version of the driver is installed on my Satellite L30-105(catalyst 7.6), 128 MB are shared, but 32 will be enough for me.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I think the problem is that Vista graphic driver does not support this option.
The option described in the in the other thread was available in the argument XPOS.

But why would you change? On my L30 128 MB shared memory are activated, but the laptop uses only 64 MB if I put t run all applications performance.
The pilot controls the amount of shared memory automatically.

You can se under control panel-> display-> advanced settings
In the map tab, you can see total graphic memory available (in my case 128 MB) and system memory shared (64 MB)

By the way; I don't think that 32 MB graphics memory may be sufficient if you're running Vista

  • Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) Windows Vista does not see the DVD - ram UJ-850 s

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) with windows Vista. Windows Vista does not recognize the DVD - ram. BIOS recognize DVD-ram. I tried to download the drivers for the DVD-ram, but they are not on the side of Toshiba.

Who can help me to get the right driver or learn more? Problems with the carpet * a DVD-ram uj-850 s ATA device and windows Vista.

    Hello

The CD/DVD drive needs no special drivers!
Vista includes a Microsoft driver that works with all CURIOUS s (CD/DVD drives)

Simply said, the Vista should recognize the drive without any problems.

A few questions; did you get any error messages? What is the status of Device Manager? Do you see yellow exclamation points?

There is an old way to correct a similar drive problem. It worked on XP then try it on Vista OS.
It of necessary to update the registry entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    1. click on the start menu.
    2. If it is a Vista machine in the search box type regedit without quotes.
    3. look for the registry key mentioned above.
    4. in the right panel you'll see something along the lines of UpperFilter and UpperFilter you want to click on each key filter and tap on delete. Click Yes when asked to confirm if you want to delete the key.
    5. restart Windows.
6 let me know if it works.
