Windows SBS 2011 see workstation offline after DNS changer Malware

So I do a job in an office job for a severely infected by malicious software, and after cleaning today, I noticed that he had been infected by a virus change of DNS. I ran across the computer 4 times (Safe Mode 2, 2 Reg Boot) with Malwarebytes and Roguekiller to make sure the infection is gone. After disinfection completely the computer it works much better, in fact the only problem, is that the AV Corp. we use normally on all our computers can not reinstall it from our server, now when checking the server for the PC from the management console, the server displays it as in offline mode. However the PC can access everything on the server and can even connect remotely, and are under the IPv4 DNS info is correct. I did a flush DNS and registry changes just to make sure and still nothing. Reaching out to the community to see if someone has experienced this problem or has an idea of what needs to be done.

  • Why the Windows Vista client gets the IP address of the Windows SBS 2011 as default DNS server?

I use Windows Vista on a client computer that is connected to our Windows Server SBS 2011 server. I don't want to use the DNS server on the local server and the DNS addresses are automatically collected on our router. Every time I have to restart my computer or disconnect / reconnect the connection to the local network, the default DNS server address is set back to static and has the IP address of the local server, which makes it much slower DNS specifications.

Can I disable this automatic update of address of DNS server somehow? In fact, I don't want to run a DNS server on the local server.

Thank you to inform in advance!

  • Windows SBS 2011 - allocation processor

We have a SBS 2011 with about 30 users. I've assigned my VM 32 GB of RAM and 1 processor (x 1, 1 x core processor). My ESXi 5.0 host has a lot of spare resource:

Any tips on what I should spend? I'm a little confused as to if I should assing multiple processors or multiple cores CPU?

Thanks for your comments. Best regards, Oliver

SBS 2011 is a frankenstien of a running server like its Exchage Windows, AD and sometimes even more.  I would assign CPU as much as necessary to ensure that your do not pin the CPU but users always get a good expereince.  Seeing that you are hosting is a core of decision-making 6 duel CPU, you could go as high as 2vCPU 6core each, but I wouldn't go that far.  I would say 6core 2-4vCPU or 1vCPU, or the other is fine.    Or start at 2vCPU and continue to work your way up until you reach a middle ground.

  • Does anyone has installed SQL Server 2008 R2 on Windows SBS 2011 Standard?

I know that SBS Premium Add on SQL Server 2008 R2 and install this will work.  However, if I have a copy of SQL 2008 R2 on the spot, I would like to know if there are any problems with the installation of this application because of Windows SBS already has SQL Server (Management Console) already installed.  Of previous experience has anyone attempted to install a stand-alone SQL Server 2008 R2 on top.  I would like to know possible problems before running this task.  Thank you.

  • No configured after DNS change start-up Page

Connection to BC for my Muse site, www.mohh.ie, this morning I get this message:

    Screen Shot 2013-09-19 at 09.54.15.png

So I advanced and made the DNS change (using an external domain register).  A few hours later after the DNS updated, I was greeted with this on my homepage:

    Screen Shot 2013-09-19 at 12.21.04.png

Note, I have a homepage set up for this site and it worked fine on the old IP address. So why I get this error message on the new DNS settings and not the former?

    Hello

Your site (www.mohh.ie) is under the new European data center, so you must change IP of your recording to the end of your registration office: 54.246.209.93

This information is also provided in this article where the IP above is provided in the section "Sites created on the new BC data centers": http://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-1741

    I hope this helps.

    See you soon

  • SBS 2011 Unmountable Boot Volume after a windows update

Server crash after a windows update.  I don't know what update, it was 8.  Seemed to have completed successfully.  I restarted as requested.  After the restart, he came and said configuration of updates, 100% done and restarted again.  This time, no matter what I do, safemode, networking, last known, all get the blue screen.  I tried to enter in the system recovery options to run a chkdsk /R and partition table repair and run fixboot, but when I get the drivers screen charge, I have all the drivers I can find for my raid controller.  Found 8 of them.  All of them seem to be add the driver, but in the end, the system will not respond.

The system is a HP Proliant ML150G6 and card Raid is a HP Smart Array b110i.  RAID and discs all show 100% health.  It is a medical office, 5 days old backup, so we're a little desperate.

  • Color LaserJet CP1025nw: new PC Windows 10, said CP1025nw is Offline after find and install it.

My CP1025nw is on my wired network Ethernet. My new desktop to Winows 10 PC finds it and it installs, watch even correct for this IP address in the info page of HP. But it will not print to it. Says it is Offline, tells me to turn it on. But if it is not enabled, how my PC find it and get his IP address? I can even ping by using Windows PowerShell.

My other PC on the network print to it. This PC also running Windows 10, as an update to 8.1

I tried to remove and re-add several times. Have rebooted several times, turned the printer on and off many times.

BTW, I do not use the direct wireless functionality for this printer. It's all pure Ethernet/TCP-IP, Wired.

It looks like a bug in the driver. How can I get a driver that works well, like my other 10 PC of Windows? I use all the HP tools that I can find. They say that there is no update pending for this driver.

    Hi @Allie_Sch,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are having problems with your HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw color printer disconnect. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

It looks like it could be communication issue between your computer and the printer or there is a problem in Windows.

I would like to start by performing the steps in these guides, Printers HP LaserJet - "offline" Printer Status Message appears and HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw printer - printer does not maintain the wireless connection.

  • Windows 10 that requires new activation after motherboard change

My X 1 carbon (2nd generation) has problems with memory (constant BSOD) and bootloop so endless, so my motherboard has been changed (with the CPU and memory welded) by a subcontractor to Lenovo.

After turning the computer for the test that I noticed that my Windows 10 license is now uncommitted, and there need a new product key.

Is there an easy fix for this?

  • Unable to connect to the console of the virtual computer after dns change

I finished just change of my VM and VC servers esx hosts to use the new dns servers. In addition the area changed as follows

from vm1.subdom1.xxx.com to vm1.subdom2.xxx.com the esx hosts and vCenter server all underwent this change at the same time although ip addresses have remained the same.

In vCenter but I do not see "cannot connect to MKS: address for server vm1subdom1.xxx.com host lookup failed: no host is unknown.»

If I log into the esx vSphere Client with server can't connect to the console where I can say vCenter to use the new name of the virtual machine instead of the old host? I can ping and resolve the vm from the vCenter server and RDP to DNS so it works but vCenter is still going to the old address.

    Any help?

To access the Console of the virtual machines... the vCenter does not really rely on the DNS config. It communicates only through ports 902/903

This problem could have arisen due to some misconfig while changing the DNS... .pls try below

Remove and re-add the vCenter ESX Server

Restart the ESX management services... #Service mgmt-vmware restart

    -All the best

  • I have a server with windows Small Business Server 2011. I need to uninstall windows SBS and install Win 7 pro on this server and use it as my personal computer. is this possible?

I have a server that I do not use. She has windows SBS 2011.  I need to convert this powerful server to my PC I need.  Please tell me if this is possible, and how to do this.

    Thank you

Could you provide the specifications of the server?

Companies often convert departmental servers to client machines of the time when they are upgrading to the most recent. The process should be easy by inserting the Windows 7 disc and perform a custom installation.

    Consider the following text:

  • SBS 2011 drivers needed

Pavilion P7-1410 supplied with Windows 8 OS; installation of Small Business Server 2011. Installation fails due to lack of drivers (e.g., network, Ethernet, USB). Download driver HP account Windopws 8 drivers. How can I get the necessary drivers for SBS?

I saved the Win 8 drivers before reformat the drive, but they do not work for SBS.

    Hello:

Unfortunately, I don't think that you will find the drivers for this operating system - even from the mfr websites.

I just checked the Realtek Web site for the drivers for the ethernet controller, and there aren't any.

They have Windows 2008 server, but not 2011.

Specifications to run SBC 2011, the minimum hardware requirement is a quad core processor, which is not your PC.

  • SBS 2011 DVD wouldn't work, cannot restore.

I recently had a scare at the restoration of SBS 2011.

Basically, I had a problem where I couldn't boot into windows server 2008.  I do daily backups of windows, so I thought no worries, I will simply bring until yesterday.  I started on Windows SBS 2011 DVD I used to install it and click on restore and it told me that it wasn't the right version for the restoration, even if it's the CD that I used to install it (I upgraded service pack for installation).

Basically I could not access the restorations on my backup drive because he told me that it wasn't the same version of windows.

How can I fix this is do not have another DVD and windows do not allow me to create a restore in WIndows 2008 server startup disk, as they now rely soly on the installation DVD?

Part of the problem may be the server that is installed was a server Fujitsu requiring the installation of sbs in a quite unique way which was a pain, but I guess only on that.

    Please help!
