Windows Server 2 k 3 on UCS B-200 M2?

Hello

just a quick question. We have servers UCS B - 200 M2 with adapter of Palo and need to set up a Windows 2003 R2 64 Bit Server for a customer.

The States of matrix of OS compatibility, Windows 2003 R2 does not work on the B200 M2 Servers. However in the compatibility matrix adapter, on the line with LSI adapter, it is said that the driver of the card is compatible for Windows 2 k 3 32-bit on the B200 M2 blade.

It's a bit irritating.

Can anyone confirm that Windows Server 2 k 3 64-bit is not compatible to the B200 M2 blade servers and may also explain why?

Thanks in advance.

Lorenz,

[Update]

I confirmed that the B200 M2 will not be supported on any version of Windows 2003.

Support of the pilots of the show right Palo for 2003 is for the B200 M1.  Due to the age and the notice of end of LIFE of the operating system, it has not considered necessary to support this OS inherited on new hardware in the future.

That being said I saw this 'work' in client deployments, but understand it is not 'supported' by TAC or Cisco.

Kind regards

Robert

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 on Flexflash?

We recently received a UCS C240 M3, which has two slots for SD (flexflash).  Is it possible to install Windows Server on SD cards?  The documentation says that you could use if for a BONE, but stop before mentioning Windows.  Of course size limited and fixed the HV partition could be a hold-up in and of itself.  Any thoughts while I wait on my hard drives?

    Thank you.

    Hi Daniel,.

The partition of the hypervisor on the flash flex is only 4 GB as mentioned wdey. The installation of windows 2008 requires a minimum size of 10 GB lun then it would be not enough for this purpose (see windows 2008 requirement below).

  • Windows Server 2008 VM closing evening

I have a service request open with VMware on this point, but at the moment, it is a head scratcher, and I thought that I post here to see if anyone has any ideas.

I have a cluster ESXi 4 consisting of four blades Cisco UCS B250-M2, each with 12 processor cores and 384GB of RAM. They are connected through a 10 GB uplink to a Nexus 5 K, and the storage is fibre channel LUNS on an EMC NS-480.

We manage only about 150 VM of the consisting of a combination of 2008 and Windows Server 2003 servers.

What we noticed a few months ago who is pretty much every night, we would have a couple of Windows 2008 servers who would just stop and power back up. Not a BSOD or a stop, but an unexpected shutdown. As we continued to deploy virtual machines more the problem seems worse to where we would have 5-6 VM stop every night, sometimes twice a night. This is not always the same virtual machine, but he always seemed to be a few among a group of about 20 servers that kept do.

We studied about all aspects of the operating system thinking it had something to do with antivirus or updates Windows, kicking off in the night, but we went to the top of nothing after a week of exhaustive research.

As an idea, I decided to spend 10 VM Windows 2008 that have been constantly crashing to another cluster running ESXi 5. Once I did, the accidents stopped. The interesting thing is that the servers that I moved to ESXi5 has stopped crashing, but we also ceased to have accidents on the ESXi4 cluster.

I started to think that maybe we hit a capacity issue any. So last night I have deployed 10 test Windows 2008 to the ESXi4 cluster servers and waited. Of course, in the night, we had about 6 servers (including 2 new servers test) start to close again.

So now I'm trying to understand what it is in this environment that makes these Windows 2008 servers stops. It does not affect 2003 servers, only the servers from 2008, and not all, only some of them.

Can someone shed light on this or give me something to look for?

Good to know, I don't know the GSS VMware will be able to help on this.

I think that you cannot change the status of a response useful, but too bad.

    Hello
I have the Satellite A200 (PSAEC).
I have install the operating system Windows Server 2003 on my laptop and I can't find a lot of drivers (there are drivers for XP and Vista on the Russian Web Site only).

Plese help me with my problem.
    Thanks for in advance!

All you need to do is understand that laptops are not designed for such purposes and because of that there is no support for Server 2003.
All modern operating systems that sense with mobile computing are supported.

    Hello

I think Toshiba does not support drivers for Windows Server 2003 for all laptops!

So the only thing you could do is to try the drivers XP (utility chipset) or search the net en some drivers available!

    Dear Sirs,

Can someone help me in this problem. I wanted to install the Windows Server 2003 next to the Vista operating system.

    > When I insert the CD, the "install Windows Server 2003" is disabled
What do you mean by people with disabilities?

You are not able to boot from the CD?

In these cases, please press the C button immediately after switching on the laptop. This should allow booting from the CD/DVD drive.
Alternatively, you can try to press the F12 key instead of the C key. This should allow the start menu. Then you could choose the STRANGE as boot device and might try to boot from the CD-ROM Server Win.

  • ProBook 6560 b: wireless network drivers - R2 Windows Server 2012

    Hello:

I don't work for or represent HP.

All I can advise is that HP offers no support or drivers for all windows server operating systems for any mobile business or consumer they ever made.

With this track record, I doubt very much they will be.

In addition, it would be Intel to release Windows Server drivers for their wireless cards, not HP.

I've never seen a card driver wireless for windows server on the Intel Web site.

Normally the equivalent standard windows drivers work on Windows server most of the time.

For example: If you had installed Windows Server 2008 R2 on your laptop, wireless Intel W7 driver probably would work.

But since there is no equivalent W10 driver for the wireless card model that your laptop is, I have a feeling that is the reason why the wireless card does not work.

You may laugh with some of the advanced settings for the card under the Advanced tab in Device Manager to see if you can get the card to work.

    Enable WMM for example.

  • Cannot download files exe on Windows server

I can not download exe on Firefox installed on Windows server 2003 files. I don't know that it's because of security Windows/IE "features." This does not work under Firefox 3.5, you can add a parameter to ignore these, but for some inexplicable reason with 3.6.
Is it possible to force Firefox 3.6 to ignore the Windows/IE security settings? Otherwise, I'll need to come back to 3.5 or use IE.

There are ways around it in Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 4, but not in Firefox 3.6. Firefox 3.6, you need to change the security settings in Internet Explorer - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
