Windows Update cannot install service pack XP how I remove it from the queue of the update?

I have Win7 that came pre-installed on my new computer HP (Win7 Pro). I used PCMover to bring certain programs and files from my OLD Dell (XP Pro) to my new computer. Everything is fine, but I have in my folder of programs Window XP Service Pack 3-30/07/2008 version 20080414.031525.

1. If this titled Window XP is in my program folder if my OS is Win 7?

2. If I can successfully remove Windows XP Service Pack 3 of my programs - how can I remove the update for XP which is in my update Quebec?

Hello

·        What is the update that is offered by windows update, number of KB?

·        What is the size of the file and the display name in the program file?

I suspect it's an update to sp3 Office which is available in the update of Windows.

Follow the steps mentioned in the article given below to verify the update is offered.

Install Windows updates

How to remove programs from the system tray without removing them from the startup on Windows XP folder?

    Hello

The first step is to identify the program that represents the icon and decide whether it should be in the system tray (most are not necessary). Hold the cursor of the mouse on the icon to see the name of the program that launches the icon.

The best bet is to click the icon to see if this opens the box of the program options. If so, look for a selection similar to "remove from the system tray.

Alternatively, you can hide the icons in the system tray.

    Here's how:

    1. right click on the taskbar and select "Properties".

    2. in the "Notification area" click "Hide inactive icons" if she already unchecked and then click on the button "Customize".

    3. click on the ' column next to each of your current behavior and choose one of the three behaviors for each program icon that appears in the system tray: "Hide when it is idle," "Always hide", or "always show".»

If you hide an icon, but then see it again the next time that you log on to Windows, you may need to uninstall the program to permanently remove the icon. Uninstall the program permanently removes the program from your computer. For more information, see Uninstall or change a program.

If you move from your Explorer or finder in a given folder, you will not lose them and they will disappear from your desktop.

If you want to use the Organizer to keep track of your photos in the catalog, use the Organizer, not the Explorer / finder to move them to another folder on the desktop.

No, it means that you are misunderstand any error message you see.  There is no service pack 4 for Windows XP.  All reputable antivirus meant for Windows XP software will install on Windows XP service pack 3.  If you have problems to install antivirus software, your computer may already be infected.

You must install one antivirus resident program.  Do not install the Avast and AVG; Choose a.  You can have other anti-malware of on demand software.  The best of them is MalwareBytes AntiMalware (free).

If you would like more information, please proceed as follows:

1 display the full text, without paraphrasing, of any error message you get when you try to install a software of your choice.

    2. after the URL (link) of the Web site from which you downloaded the antivirus installation package.

    3. click on start, then run, then type the following command in the "Open" box and click OK

    Msinfo32.exe

When the windows of Information System fills, click on edit, and then click Select all. Click on edit, then click on copy.  Then paste (CTRL + V), the copied data in your response here.

  • Cannot install Service Pack 1 after 4 years, Windows Vista Factory restore

I have a Dell XPS ONE and used the option to restore to the factory due to several problems. The system is 4 years old and maintain a 4 year old Windows Vista Home Premium system proved to be too much for me to handle.

When I try to update Windows, I managed about 60 updates, but then I get to the SP 1. He tells me that it is installed, but then I go to the update again and it tells me that I need SP I... I can go through the same indefinitely, SP 1 installation, but he always tells me that I need to install Service Pack 1 even if it was just installed successfully. Aparently, SP 1 is not installed correctly, but it tells me that it is installed. It is not!

In the meantime, I can ' t reinstall Norton Internet Security. He tells me that I need SP2 for Vista.

It is good, that you can not install Norton Product.  Stop trying.  No McAfee either.

Avast, AVG, Avira , or UnThreat are choices fine (free option).
You could spend ~ 60USD during two years of eSET NOD32 AntiVirus (not more - just product AntiVirus) and which would be more worthwhile.

  • Cannot install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition or anything else on the internet.

    Hello

I tried to download and install Service Pack 2 using Windows Vista Home Edition, or anything like that on the internet without success. According to me, the key word is internet or a block of Vista from the internet to install anything. Many people here get the same error 80070005 for SP2 as I am, but I think that the problem is with Vista, how the system allows any installs or blocks installed from the internet. I suppose that some are able to go through the download process, but installation is where it does not pass through. There are moments where it seems that the installation of SP2 works, but it will fail eventually. Other times what ever happens to the installation process. The same goes for all other downloads and installs from the internet. I am able to install a program that already exists on the computer, so I know that installs works just not the Internet. Do not send me a link to install because it probably won't last through. I may be able to download but installation will not pass by so that the program will not work. I used the words installation and internet a lot for some reason please take account, when responding.

    Thank you
