Windows Update installs real Windows updates?

What I'm trying to say is: automatic update install it Windows on Windows 8 8.1, because I don't want to install 8.1 due to problems earlier when I installed a few months ago and had to restore my pc.

You get first Windows 8.1 store not Windows update, you have physically accept the download so that it can be installed. You can get banners advise upgrade you to 8.1 Windows but don't at this stage. Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

The above opinion is mine and mine nothing and does not necessarily reflect that of Microsoft, it is

  • How2 (a) FIND good init.ora (b) or other files param on application server?

I can't find the INIT. ORA file on my application server. I need to change some default settings.
I looked here, I looked at the settings$ v who reported a "SPFILE"... and I looked at who, and there all these parameters with asterisk. and I don't know what that means. I wanted to just increase the number of links allowed DB on my test server.

Could someone point me to fix the folder / file / documentation?
    Thank you.

I note the following folder on my... running App Server 10 g in the Windows XP box.

    C:\OraHomes\ORAH1_DEV\database... where the SPFILE.
    C:\OraHomes\admin\UGOSREPS\pfile... that's where an init.ora file is...

I added two lines in second file... in the topic... (num a 4, the default)
and stopped and started in the DB, but... nada. parameters of v$ 4 instead of the following still says...

    Open_links = 100
    open_links_per_instance = 100

... but I'm afraid to touch the SPFile, because he put in a different form.

    In C:\OraHomes are 5 folders... Admin, Flash_Recovery_Area, OraData, ORAH1_DEV and ORAH2_BI.

H1 is where we part 1 of the installation of the App Server (the part 'infrastructure', be it be a Forms / Reports Server 10 g), and in which we also added APEX).

H2 is where we part 2 installation (real forms / reports part server... He insisted on not being under the same roof.)

H1 and H2 are both available through OEM and seem to be running. But... we test things, so I know I need to change the settings... the first being the link settings.

Could someone please offer a clue? TX,

    SM

    In order to change the system settings in the SPFILE you must issue an ALTER SYSTEM SET... SCOPE = SPFILE;
    i.e.

    ALTER SYSTEM SET open_links = 100 SCOPE = SPFILE;

Restart the DB and recheck the values.

  • New on windows - question about installations of update failed

I am new to Windows, but recently purchased a netbook with Windows 7. I also installed Norton Internet Security.  I do not use the netbook every day, so every time I restart, I ensure that I update Windows and Norton.  Today, I watched the history of update and discovered that some elements did not install on other occasions. I don't know whether to worry about this or not.  If the elements have failed to install, say, two weeks ago, Windows Update would not try to install them again when I ran the update engine then?  I have received no notification on this topic - I just noticed this by looking at the history of update.

While some of the elements initially appear in history as 'impossible' later appear as "successful", I can't find two articles among the facilities of 'success'  They are:

    (1) definition update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (. 1.79.702.0) and

    (2) definition update for Windows Defender - KB915597 (1.75.377.0.)

Since the date where these two updates could not be installed, there are several successful installations of security for Windows upgrades and updates security cumulative for Internet project.

I am now, I was wondering if the above is not updates of definition for Defender could have been included in the broader future updates.  Or should I still worry that these two items do not have install and try to do it manually?

Thank you very much for your help!

If you use Norton 360, please turn off windows Defender. If the Defender and norton are running, your system can know the performance degradation and other problems caused by the conflict of two services providing real-time protection at the same time.

It is very important to update the virus definitions regularly. Otherwise you will not be protected against the latest threats

Swede08, Norton 360 provides complete protection. However for a home user, I won't recommend that Norton 360 or other paid antivirus solutions

You can use Microsoft security essentials. Its free of cost. Its your choice and depends on you and what kind of protection you need

I hope the above information helps you

  • Installation of windows update command

Windows Server 2003 SP2 file server role.

I plan to install updates (and reboot) to the file server.

It's some time I do not install because of the high availability, so I have many updates to install.

What I want to do, is to install 4, 5 updates once and collect information after every restart to see potential problems and fix them without a ' one-bombing-updates - install ' which sometimes produce an unpredictable real-world scenario.

How can I safely deselect some updates and install only some of them once? I have to start deselect them in the top or the bottom?

In short, who is of the order of installation of updates?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks for help.

    Original title: Windows Update

I went to the Start Menu and click on Windows Update.  (Microsoft Update is the real screen name.)  I clicked on Express - Get high-priority updates (recommended).  Microsoft Update now says the following: check the latest updates for your computer...  After a while the rescued and install updates appear; then I click on install updates.  Installation of updates window appears with this message: the updates are being installed.  Installstion status is reproduced below.  Extraction of the files sometimes on the screen.  Often I do it the short way; in other words, I click on the yellow at the bottom of the screen, and updated icon Instaliing up-to-date displays.  Long or short path, the yellow icon is displayed again after some time.  Why?  Also, why the rest yellow icon even after having this?

    Hi KathyNortonKS,

Have updates you tried to install?

    Method 1:

You can view the history of update to see if recently offered updates are installed or not.

    a. click Start, all programsand then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.

    b. on the Windows Update Web site or on the Microsoft Update Web site, click view update history. A window opens that displays the updates that have been installed or that have failed to install on the computer.

    c. If you see updates failed, double-click updates failed to check the error codes.

    Method 2:

You can read the following article and run the Fixit:

The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working

    Method 3:

You can also read the following article and perform a full scan on your computer by using the Microsoft Safety Scanner.

  • "Database corrupt installation" - discovered after failures repeat the installation of automatic updates of Windows

We're running out of WinXP SP3.  Apparently, we are unable to install/uninstall anything correctly.  I think it may have something to do with "a basic installation damaged."  I got this error when trying to manually install KB972581 (a security update for 2007 Microsoft Office System).  This could have been caused by running the Windows Installer cleanup utility, I didn't have problems with Office 2007.  We were informed at all by continuing to upgrade with another program issues.

We daily use Outlook 2007.  Multiple users, so we can't delete it.

Same thing with KB970895 (update of security for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2) - another failure with the description of the error "Unable to install Windows Installer MSP file".

Basically, the automatic updates of Windows always fail.  Comprehensive research of these forums, I found and ran the Microsoft FixIt! # 50202, without result.

How can I fix anything that makes things installation fails?

I had a similar problem - resolved two things actually. First make sure yu have the latest windows installer engine. Then download the package fails and run interactive mode. This will give you the 'real' error which causes the failure so that you can correct it.

In my case it was a dependency on another file system that was resolved by running sfc/scannow - it's maybe not the question you... once again, run the full installation package and also to enablehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 logging to track down issues...

  • 12.4.1.6 iTunes installation updated on Windows 7, 64-bit

I currently have iTunes version 12.3.2.35 installed on my 64 bit Windows 7 computer. I did get invited to install an update, lately for 12.4.1.6 version, but the keeps installation program fails with a message about a mysterious missing program.

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".

There is no indication of this program is supposed to be missing. My machine is up to date and a lot of processor, memory and space available.

No idea what the problem could be or how to fix?

Repair Apple Software Update since the programs & features Panel configuration and then try again.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

The more information box has direct links with the current and recent if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with third-party software.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

In addition, after installing XP SP3 there are still hundreds of Windows updates to apply these updates to Windows must be installed directly after installation of XP SP3 or drivers Toshiba?

Thanks in advance for your help

Java Runtime Environment 2 package can be installed after the installation of all the current drivers and substantial tools Java Runtime Environment isn t, if it to install other drivers and tools and so it s not very important when the package would be installed.

You must install all updates of Win XP after installing Toshiba drivers and utilities.
During the installation of the update, the laptop must be restarted several times and the whole process could take a while

However, from my point of few, Win XP isn't the best choice now since Microsoft only provides no support for this system now

A little over 2 weeks ago he had a problem with the WiFi connection - which also seems to be associated with the Windows updates - I got this one and it has been fine since then. Started an automatic update last night and now he's stuck. Any ideas?

    Hi Jamame,

Thanks for your post, I will do my best to help you!

I see that your computer did an update for more than 12 hours and has not completed or seems to have improved.

First of all you could cancel the update, restart the computer.  Then you would go The HP Support Assistant to search for updates or problems. Here is a document to help performance. Improve the performance of the system without adding memory (Windows 7). I would also like to launch the File Checker.  Using the File Checker system to restore the system files. Now repeat your update with her power.

If you want more help, please can you give us the exact model of the G6 you and the operating system you are using. How can I find my model number or product number?
