Windows update last night gives me a black screen and error 0xC004E002

Error code said: The Software Licensing Service reported that the license store contains inconsistent data.

It is a portable Toshiba 3 years, with a product key illegible on the label beneath.

Microsoft C/S and support were unable to help him and sent me to Toshiba, which said that they cannot

    Yes, you can go ahead and try the steps in my previous post and check if this solves the problem.

    If these steps is not enough you can follow these methods and check if it works:

    Method 1: I you recommend to turn off the computer, unplug the power, restart the computer and reconnect the USB device. See if the device is detected.

    Please update the drivers of graphics processor on the manufacturing site, also the Version of Photoshop to 2015.1.2.

    And you need to select several images in Lightroom > menu photo > edit in > merge HDR Pro in Photoshop.

    We have automatic updates on. Last night, 4 updates have been applied. This morning, the only way I can type anything is to use notepad and copy and paste into a window. Hit the space bar makes the cursor to the beginning of the sentence. I googled this and can't find answers. Can anyone help?

  • Windows 7 Aero Desktop stopped working after installing IE9 & windows update last night (and reboot)

    I installed IE 9 beta on Windows 7, then installed windows 2 critical updates that night and restarted my PC.  Aero works does not in the morning.  Here are the errors in the event log:

    For some reason, I have no longer than 11/6 recovery point so I can't roll back.   This utility only difficulty and just sayd that the Desktop Manager is disabled.   I was digging on the net for days, but no luck.  Ideas?  Thank you!

  • After that windows update computer now hangs at the login screen, no error message, just restarts.

    I have tried safe mode, does the same thing; tried to use the Windows Vista disc to do a repair, no luck; also I tried restoring the system (from disk), no restore points however.
    The problem appeared after restarting the computer during the night.  The problem began to be able to connect, but the screen would go blank with just a pointer (KSOD).  Has tried some of the suggestions on this problem, including by eliminating sys newspapers, which did not work as well as reinstalling the video driver, with no luck.  Finally tried a system restore, returned 1 week (before the windows updates).  Now, the computer becomes just the login screen sits there for about 5-10 seconds then restarts immediately.

    I just had this happen to my laptop that has no external references. This is a new (September 09) ASUS K50ij with Vista 64-bit installed. I bought the Win 7 OS to replace, but have been waiting for the time to play with it... Last Monday, the update itself and invited to restart so I have done what I was busy with and enabled him to restart which is the only thing to do now... restart, the blue screen for a nano-second, then restart... etc. Same problem with safe mode and safe mode with networking, or with the box... anyway, someone very smart recommended that I use another computer (Fortunately, I have several) to download free Imgburn (which works easily), then get Ubuntu (Linux Operating System free download) burn image from the Ubuntu disc, put the disc in the drive of the computer crashed (there is a little hole next to the button you) can insert in a safety pin to release the door when the power is off) change the setting in the BIOS of the computer has crashed by restarting and pressing F2 until you get the menu BIOS... go to the start menu and choose Start from the CD, and then press ENTER. It will boot the disk and allow you to view and copy ALL your files off the power on an external drive, which is what I did... including my Outlook .pst files that include all my saved emails my calendar and contacts, etc! WOOHOO! has got all my photos, documents, etc. The only thing that I didn't know how to get is my favorite... How to enter in the browser from another computer.

    If after this, an hour or more than make sure I got all the important data... I decided to see if anyone had a solution to this problem just fixing... I probably won't update again because Microsoft sends them and offers no solutions to the problems they have caused and nobody pays me for all the time I've lost get to get my stuff back and also to solve the problem they have caused. A update on my other laptop Win 7 zapped my outlook program and even reinstall it didn't solve this problem, even more work to do there, but looking in the files using Ubuntu's File Explorer, I found a hidden file that is used to repair the files .pst outlook called scanpst, or something that nearby.

    In any case, if someone has a solution to uninstall the recent update or to determine how it corrupted my user profile (which is the general consensus) please let me know.

  • Black screen and mode standby with the message "no signal".

    Correctly, it's... kind of weird, I use my computer and the monitor for a year or 2 now and don't never had real problems. The thing is that when I got home last night I found my black screen and standby mode (as if the computer was turned off (which it wasn't)). I thought that the reset will solve the problem, and so I did and didn't get the message "no signal". All tried, reconnecting cables, reset several times I could count... nothing helped for awhile.

    At any given time during one of my restarts it reworked all of a sudden no aparent reason. So going on my daily buissiness I want to get back in the saddle, when I accidentally hit the side of my computer with a book and the screen went to 'no signal' again. Just tried again and even used my cell phone to check if the monitor was working,... now comes the weird part,... also on my laptor monitor is having problems with "no signal", but only when I do my main screen. It works as a secondary screen, but I can't get the context in which to work. (finding that I'm guessing that this problem is not related to my normal computer, but I'm not sure).

    I am running vista and got a nvidia 8800GT graphics card. Also, I noticed something that is at any time using both the hdmi cable on the graphics card or using the socket with the internal chipset of my computer makes no difference. in both cases, I get "no signal" and the screen goes to sleep... Is there someone who can help me and tell me what probably is the problem here? I'm really looking forward to the answers, thank you very much for your time and effort.

    If you are comfortable, then try to remove the CPU cover and check if the graphics card is well connected to the motherboard. Even if it is connected correctly, you can try to reconnect the graphics card and check.

  • Updated FireFox, restarted and now it will not open the browser, even if the icon does not appear in my taskbar. Was fine until the update last night. Win8.1 running

    When I move the mouse over the icon in the taskbar that appears after that I have I dbl-clicked on the icon on the desktop, you can see a miniature version of the browser open as usual, unfortunately, the browser will not open upward on the desktop. I've deleted and reinstalled several times. It has worked very well until I did the update last night.

    64 bit

    Sometimes, a window is "off the screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

    A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt.

    #1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

    Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

    In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

    Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

    Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

    Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

    #2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

    Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

    Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the search for the start bar menu (or perhaps 8.x for Windows search of charms bar bar?) type or paste the following and press ENTER to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
    

    Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

    Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

    Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

    My son says that there is an update last night when he was on the computer and the browser only, that we can use to access the internet now is Windows Internet Explorer. I tried all of the recommended patches and it still does not work.

    Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox and all the leftover program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps one by one:

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click Exit in the file menu or Firefox) and confirm all future messages.
    3. Now, uninstall Firefox by following the steps mentioned in the article to Uninstall Firefox .

    IMPORTANT: Under Windows, the uninstall program has the option to remove your personal data and settings. Make sure that you have not check this option. If not all of your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, customizations and other Firefox data user profile will be removed from your computer.

    After uninstalling Firefox on Windows, delete the folder of the program "Mozilla Firefox", located by default in one of the following locations:

    • (Windows 32-bit) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    • (On 64-bit Windows) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
    1. Go to the Windows Start menu and click on 'computer '.
    2. In the Explorer window that opens, double-click on disk Local (c) to open the C:\ drive.
    3. Find the folder "Program Files (x 86)" or "Program Files".
      • On 32-bit Windows, double-click the Program Files folder to open it.
      • On 64-bit Windows, you'll see a folder "Program Files (x 86)" AND a "Program Files" folder. Open the Program Files (x 86) folder.
    4. You are looking for a folder of Mozilla Firefox . If you find one, right click and select delete and confirm that you want to move the folder to the trash.

    Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:

    1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

    Try the methods below:

    Method 1: Disconnect all the devices connected to the computer such as printers, scanners or USB hard drives and restart the computer and check if that helps.

    It's always a good idea to save and provide for system backups. All you have to do is pick up your Photoshop preferences. Don't copy a folder no big deal.
