Hello
Either the system restore point is already created for an earlier date, or is not available.
You cannot create a restore today Point to return to yesterday.
You can create a restore today Point to use in the future.
Here's how to use the Vista system restore:

Do installed Windows updates remain intact after back by using the system restore?
I installed the Windows updates at the same time, I've updated my antivirus software, and now when I try to delete a message from Inbox in Outlook 2007 by using the DELETE key on my keyboard, Outlook crashes. I am trying to determine if this problem was caused by the updates of Windows/Outlook or the update of the antivirus software. I did a system restore to an earlier date to do all the updates and the Outlook/remove key question has disappeared. Even though I know that system restore has removed the antivirus update, I don't know if he removed the updates of Windows/Outlook. Just try to understand that you caused the problem key to delete. Strange problem, huh?
Thank you!!

You will need to get restore point, have no idea how. And how can I find one of the two programs that is constantly running on my computer. It is making a mess of my computer regardless of the other program.

Hello
You may not use programs like this.
Read these reviews what you bought; It does nothing, most of the classidfy as malware and it is difficult to remove completely;
http://download.CNET.com/PC-performer/3640-18512_4-12495073.html
Try this:
Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:
http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
And here's how to go in Safe Mode options; Select safe mode with networking from the list of options:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Also download and use this before scanning; It is a program of bleepingcomputer.com which stops the Malware work process, giving you a better chance to remove it:
It's called RKill:

"Norton 360 registry clean"
* sigh *.
Double whammy. Norton and the words "Clean Registry" in the same sentence.
OK - no matter what you think you have, if you know that you have done the excact steps I'm about to give you in a different order, etc. - tracking them in the order shown, not not an ignorant because you have scanned with that even (or other product) 35 seconds before you read my answer, etc.
Search for malware:
Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:
Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)
Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Delete everything is found.
Reset.
Download (save) system update and do a right click on it and "Run as Administrator". Choose the right one for you:
- All supported x 86 Windows Vista (32-bit) versions
- All supported based on x 64 (64-bit) versions of Windows Vista
Let things run/fix.
Reset.
Try to update.
If it still fails, try the following:

Try to update.
If it still does not work, try this...
- Start an elevated command prompt.
- Run the following commands pressing on enter after each line:
net stop wuauserv
CD %SystemRoot%\System32
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv - Reset
- Try to update.
* Important * When you do this, the following problems occur:
- Updates that are currently downloaded but which have not yet been installed must be downloaded again by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
- When you remove the Software Distribution folder, your download history is deleted.
- If you currently receive updates from Microsoft Update and Windows Update, you will need to reselect this option from the Windows Update Web site.
* Note * if the issue is resolved and you can successfully download and install the updates, you can delete the directory SoftwareDistribution.old to recover disk space.

Windows Update stopped working.
I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7 SP1 installed on my laptop [Dell Studio 1747 with processor i7 4 GB RAM & 750 GB hard drive. Windows Update stopped working on my machine. All updates through April 19, 2016 have been installed. I already did the following:
(1) installed the previous images dating back to several months
(2) only run WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab to get error # 0 x 80070005 several times
(3) race reset Win Update.bat unsuccessfully
(4) run MicrosoftEasyFix20179.mini.diagcab without success
(5) I tried install subinacl.msi and runs the recommended Reset.cmd file
(6) installed WindowsUpdateAgent-7, 6 - x 64 .exe
All the latter were applied as suggested on the Microsoft Support Website. None of these maneuvers in addition to the various applications of my antiviral software and malware, brought any resolution of the problem. I would appreciate any suggestion short of a new facility, because I can't seem to find anywhere, all the new boards.
I don't know what worked, but Windows Update started to update itself again. What I don't have, though, was to limit the number of updates, I got the update at some point, less than 30. I read a post at one point noted that a large number of updates may increase the risk of errors of download and installation. I had some mistakes on the first download, but those corrected when I download tracking the rest of the updates. I do not wish that Microsoft would create a repair or update protocol independent site, because it seems that this is not an uncommon problem.

Hello
· Have you tried restarting the computer and restart the Windows Update process?
You can try the steps in the article and check if that helps.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949358
If you are able to restart the computer, run the Windows Update troubleshooting tool and then run updates and check what is happening. To open Windows Update convenience store follow the link below.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Update-Troubleshooter
You will have to perhaps install the updates manually and check if it works very well.
Hope this information is useful.

MAKE WINDOWS UPDATER STOP annoying me
Is there a way to make Windows Updater STOP recommending an update 'Important '? I don't use Internet Explorer, it ask me download a 8.8 MB 'security update' for IE, which I did not need.
Quote your full version of Windows (for example, WinXP SP3;) Windows XP 64 - bit SP2; Vista SP1; Vista 64 - bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64 bit) when you post in a forum or a newsgroup. Please do it in your next reply.
While you can't use IE, Windows does so it is very important to keep IE (and Windows) fully-patched at all times!

When I find a Web site by using bookmarks in Firefox and then I want to look like another site in that same case, especially in a subfolder, Firefox brings back me at the beginning of the bookmarks menu. With Internet Explorer, it takes back me to the same folder or subfolder in that I was. For example, if I wanted to pick up newspapers, especially if they are in subfolders, I want to stay in the same place. Firefox loses this place, unlike Internet Explorer and brings back me at the beginning every time. Sometimes, I have several layers of subfolders and it takes time to find this place each time.
One possibility is to open the bookmarks bar.
Click the list next to the star icon on the Navigation toolbar, and then click "View Bookmarks Sidebar" (Ctrl + B). -

I tried several options suggested as
(a) restarts - did not work
(b) netstop wuauserv, wicks, rename the softwaredistributionfolder, netstart these services (the two) and try windows complete update - windows update has started but I still couldn't install the KB958559
(c) try cmdprompt in a high of UAC cmd window.I was wondering if there is something else that needs to be done to install this package KB.

Bruce:
The problem has been fixed (I think) but in a most unusual way. Let me explain.
When I was closing down to give the computer a rest yesterday, there was a pop up saying that vprotector expected to close. He really wanted the process of closing until I clicked on finish the process. Curious to know what vprotector is, I searched on the net and got a lot of shots, saying: it is a virus and should be deleted pronto. So I searched the hard drive for the vprot. * and found in the folder program files for AVG!
I then went to AVG to see if it's really a part of AVG and they said yes. If there is a problem with vprot, the toolbar is at fault and needs to be reinstalled. There was one click here to download and run the part of the program to fix the problem. However, I had WebRoot antivirus running that stopped the download of this program as a virus. Because I trust AVG, I've disabled WebRoot and reinstalled the AVG search bar.
I haven't restarted WebRoot and computer flying along as it should, and OE is the link to IE when I click on a link as it has always done.
Seems to me to be the faulty AVG toolbar and a cross with two virus programs upward was at fault. Thank you for your time. Your reply gave me a chance to think differently this problem could arise.
Computers are really complicated machines and we have to be complicated to deal with their problems.
Thanks again,
Fred
