  • Windows updates fail to download and install the new

    Good afternoon

I recently bought this satellite laptop computer pro on the package was both windows vista Home premium. I also decided to change fnsi at the same time. The provider also gives Norton Firewall Virus Intrusion etc etc.

Microsoft does not validate my system but after that 2 hours on the phone with them and a system restore, they have agreed that I had bought some valid stuff and that fixed it.
Now it seems windows updates icon appears ask me do I want to download and install.

I do but every time, it fails, there are about 11 things that fail, no installation. I rang Microsoft today that they made one or tow things say but PC Toshiba's fault.

Please, anyone had this happen to them and got the solution (s)?
Please take into consideration that my knowledge of pc can be written on the back of a postage stamp. Do like me simple.

    Thank you

Did you try to disable the firewall or uninstall Norton? Norton may block the Internet connection.

If the provider uses a Proxy Server, you need to enter the proxy in Internet Explorer connection settings.

  • 10 Windows update fails after download: Code C1900204 or 80200053 (23 failures to date)

I use a desktop computer of homebrew who spent all the prerequisites for Windows 10 and is no longer able to run Windows 10.  I tried both the download and install later and update now options and both have the same results.  Windows 10 downloads at 100%, then he breaks down and goes to the error codes, see below.  I have 8.55 GB free on my disk C: (SSD) the default download folder is configured on a separate drive with 1.8 free to (where my Local and Roaming profile).  Is there a way I can just download the file and manually update through Windows Update, which will obviously NOT work?

My situation is a little unique because I am working in China.  My Windows7 enabled here and I tried to download and install with or without a VPN connection to the United States (VPN Express) and both have the same results, just to rule out the antics of Chinese ISP that happens here.  No other updates have already had a problem, see below.  Investigations led to patches for two codes listed above, C1900204 patches didn't work, try 80200053 such that it requires a reboot.  For this fix, I came across 2 questions:

    1. After the DLL has been loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found:

      1. Mshtml.dll
      2. Shdocvw.dll
      3. Browseui.dll
      4. qmgr.dll
Make sure that the "above" is a DLL or OCX valid and then try again
    2. Module following failed to load.  Make sure the binary is stored at the specified location, or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent file. DLL files.
      1. MSXML.dll
      2. Gpkcsp.dll
      3. Sccbase.dll
      4. Slbcsp.dll
      5. inipki.dll
      6. wuaueng1.dll
      7. c:\windows\system32\dllcache\wucltui.dll
      8. wuweb.dll
      9. c:\windows\system32\muweb.dll

My IE has not worked in years, and it seems that the foregoing could be part of the reasons.  Will change with no result of the patch released on the 80200053 and the installation of the Windows Update Agent.

  • Windows updates failed to download with the error code 641

Hi, I have windows home basic and started having a problem getting my updates [error code 641] there were 7 now there are 9 that I can't seem to download. I've been in contact with microsoft and have clusters of solutions but nothing worked. I see that many people have the same problem and they tried the same thing, I tried to no advail. I searched through all my updates and found on 19-09-09, he tried to download service pack 2 and it was cancelled so I tried to reinstall and it tells me that it is already installed. I tried to fix it several times and it says that the problem has been fixed, when I check on the windows installer it says that is not installed correctly but when I try to reinstall it says I have corrupted files and cannot be installed. in April of this year, I had system machanic and I read that it might cause part of the problem so I talked to them and they tried to solve the problem and they could not say that there something to do with service pack 2 is not installed, I'm really not so concerned as to who the fault is that I'm getting repair. as I said I tried everything microsoft has sent and nothing worked I don't know where to go or what to do next - please help! Thank you judy

I found them in the C:\windows| C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution | Download the directory where to stay.  In programs of updates installed under control panel I have Hotfix for Windows (KB2534111) and (KB976902) installed and wndows udpate has the new top installed client. I installed as part of the construction of framework Microsoft .net 4.5.2

This did never happen before the release of Windows 10?

  • Windows update fails-G62-225DX - bad startup a factory?

My nephew came to me recently with a G62-225DX HP, concerned about safety.  Given this machine is several years old (recently handed down from his father - I quickly understood why), I was surprised to see she was always being basic Windows 7 Home Premium.  Without SP1.

My first attempt to resolve this was to run Windows Update - no luck - immediately fails with "cannot run - services is not started.  Of course, verification services, yes I see WU and BITS running.

So, like any good tech person, I check in the case where the logs and see various errors, including the constant complaints on the Crypto database being corrupted.

Then, up to be Googling for these symptoms/messages.  I see many people with the same problem and a lot of suggestions on how to fix this (re - reg WU, STRANDS of clear/reset, flush/empty C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, catroot2 flush/empty, etc.).  Even seen one on the Intel hard drive problems due to replace it with a drive of more than 500 GB (this unit still has the original 320).

Spent hours trying all the suggestions there, especially when people said 'Yes, that fixed', nothing helps.

Since it was not something of value on this machine, I decide backup and restore "factory".

Imagine my surprise when, after reset of the image 'factory', it has exactly the same problem - Windows Update fails, out-of-the-box on the right!

I think to myself, it's crazy.  The machine is faulty from the start and everyone was naïve to not get Windows updates, AT ALL!

I even decided to try the Windows Update Checker (supposed to perform before installing SP1) and it fails with ' Windows Update Standalone install encountered and error - 0xc80000247 ".

So, I decided to run through the suggested fixes (from M$, no less) and all of a sudden, that Windows Update works.

I thought, it's fantastic.  He immediately calls to > 130 fixed critical.

After a few hours of download and installed, I restart only to get a BSOD - STOP 6 b - AAARRRGGGHHHH!  Tried to go through Windows restore previous checkpoint but that too fails with a mysterious error.  In addition, many Google hits on the 6 b says that it's a hardware problem.  But he was executed until the Windows update, with nothing in the case where newspapers to indicate hardware problems.

Then, I decided to do a restore from the image of what I started with.  At least it ran, even though she could not be updated.

I no longer dig and see a bunch of updates to the firmware/software for this machine, including the BIOS.  Even saw some strange 'Windows updates' HP.  I thought maybe it was something like the fiasco when the power management update for Intel processors had on machines AMD, thus paralyzing them!  Still nothing - WU still does not work!

Tried again to return to the original image, hoping that maybe to install all updates of office/hardware/driver on a virgin machine solve the problem.  Nope-WU still does not work.  Even went back through all the suggested fixed (saved as .bat files everthing).  Nothing, nada...

So, I'm posting here in hopes that someone has a miracle cure that I missed.

    Hello:

    I don't have a magic bullet...

The same thing happened to me while working on a friends HP 8100 Elite CMT, Windows 7 Pro, HP original image.

Would not install SP1 or Windows updates. I tried every trick in the book and after spending more than two hours, going nowhere, including restore from the recovery discs, I decided to install a plain OS W7 clean add drivers myself using the product key for W7 on the PC.

    It has worked well.

You can do the same thing if you can read the product key of W7 on the bottom of the laptop, and your nephew can't live without programs that was shipped with the PC.

In addition, if you format the drive and just install W7 on current partition, you can probably find the program of the installation files for the programs supplied with the PC in the SWSetup folder.

Here's how to do when you don't have installation of W7 media.

Use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a DVD or a 4 GB flash drive using the USB compilation method.

Use the product key of windows 7 of 25 characters to activate your installation.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below. Download the Windows 7 version that is on your product (Home Premium, professional or ultimate) key to apply.

To resolve this problem, remove the download directory and then to return to the update sites. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Stop the automatic updates service. To do this, follow these steps:

      1. Click Start and run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
      2. Right-click the automatic updates service and then click on stop.
      3. Minimize the Services snap-in.
    2. Rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory. To do this, follow these steps:
      1. Click Start, run, type cmd, and then click OK.
      2. Type cd %windir%, and then press ENTER.
      3. Type ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SDTemp, and then press ENTER
      4. Type exit and press ENTER.

Note When you delete the folder % windir%\softwaredistribution, the history list is erased from the "Review your Updates" section of the Windows Update Web site. This action will not affect the updates installed on your computer. Subsequent updates will appear in the history list.

    3. Start the automatic updates service. To do this, follow these steps:

This computer is only a few weeks and I was never able to update windows properly and I always "error (s) found: Code 80096004.»

I'm under Alienware BIOS A09 if this is any help, and windows is genuine through the OEM. I got non-genuine errors in previous windows that were due to windows update failures, and yesterday I restored my computer to factory default which has removed all errors except windows update errors. So, to get these updates correctly will mitigate hope-other problems I have.

I used to receive the codes of error such as 80096003 and another who was something similar (do not remember exactly the code) to 8001b 010. Cutting windows firewall has removed these errors happen in windows update, or so I think.

Anyway, the real culprit right now, I believe is the "error (s) found: Code 80096004.» How can I fix this error in my Windows Update so that I can continue to update? Whenever Windows Update tries to download updates, the process of "Download" will always result in a constant 0% and never pass and will always fail. I have about 30 updates, I need to download/update and catch him. Most are updated critical or very important.

    Thanks in advance.

Since it is a Dell computer, chances are a Norton or McAfee free trial is preinstalled. When you have done the clean install, the free trialware would have ALSO reinstalled (but not valid now).  Let's see if the execution of two removal tools & a few tweaks resolves the behavior.

[You can print these instructions for reference offline. [If a step said to restart, restart! ]

    1. click right on the following link to download the Norton removal tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. double-click on the file that you saved in # 1 a above, to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

If you return to check the out parameter #1 above, it'll be "Use my current..." "but now it's going to be"point"to IE so that you don't need to change anything or reset. [Think of it.]

    5. now check your settings here: IE tools | Internet Options | Programs | Default web browser: If the make default button is NOT dimmed, click/press it.
