  I'm not sure that there is a 'one size fits all' answer to this problem, if you google the error.

  The most common solution is to try to install the SATA driver.

  Here is the link to the SATA drivers you need for your model. Download and extract to a usb flash drive.

  If you use an ordinary W7 installation DVD and use no recovery disc, the most common cause of this error is the lack of SATA drivers.

  Download and extract these files on a usb flash drive. First file listed is for W7 64 bit.

  When you get to install it now click on that and click the option advanced player options.

  Okay so if please bear with me and be patient.  I'm not tech savvy.  I know enough to be able to remove an old hard drive and put another one, but when there are errors, I don't know what to do.

  I took the old drive yesterday and installed the new hard drive.  I put back the case and turned on the machine.  I put in my Windows 7 installation disc.  He began installing Windows 7... It's completely past the initial screen where it says it to load it and the other... I had accepted the license agreement, but did not have to make a profile and do the work and the reader.  I hope all this makes sense.  Then it pops up this message "installing Windows could not set up Windows on hardware on this computer."  I couldn't figure out what to do from there.  I got the new drive and put the old one back to and here I am.   The Windows installation is not happy about something, and since it gets at least started which is a good thing, but your installation problem can not really be with Windows - perhaps something about Dell hardware or your 1 TB HARD drive.

  Yes, I have same problem of yours, I've finally updated all those win updates, now that I started some bloggers advice what to do to solve these problems. I actually had a problem with a crash suddenly and blackout of screen and other unusual tracks on this desk, until the February MS cannot install updates. what I've done, I've tried the [FSC.exe] System File Checker, see him through YouTube "how to use FSC,"...   Others have to do with the "compatibility issues" for 32-bit web sites.

  .. and yes my stuff Adobe, Flash and Java are all kept up-to-date too.  Please keep in mind, I know how to get to these files support and update history and try to update manually and with each of them, the research questions and check forums, so I spend a lot of time doing this.  A lot of information is not new.

  Speaking of a new VISTA user...  My C drive has a file that says "Program Files (x 86) and this is where I go for all.»  What is it? It was my first VISTA computer. So forgive me... I'll tell you something about the music industry, but forgive me this ignorance.   Other folders have programs in the files of "program" and identical named files... What is so special about this (X 86)... I'm in 64-bit and sometimes still in 32 bit? capacity?

  Hello, I run the servers at my work, and systems are 64-bit.  It would be just that sometimes your system needs to do things differently running 32-bit.  Not sure why they choose to divide them, but that's how it is on my servers.

• Windows Vista crashes when configuring updates

  I am currently using a Toshiba Satellite a305-s6916 with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I had some problems with the computer so I decided to reinstall my OS and have a fresh start. I made the discs by the creator of recovery on the computer disk.

  I reinstalled my OS, got all my files and programs on the computer, then started updates. When I installed Windows Vista Service Pack 2, my computer rebooted, went to the "Configuring updates 2/3 0% ' screen and stayed there." The circle of "loading" froze, I let it sit for an hour and finally started strong. He went to the same screen and froze, I rebooted it in safe mode, it starts normall (not in safe mode), and then asked me to do more updates. I let it reboot and he did the same thing, I rebooted again and he went to the same page with horizontal lines on the screen. I picked up in safe mode, it went through updates and seemed fine. I was using the computer and about 30 minutes later, he froze and made the lines again.

  I went until I didn't have Windows Vist SP2 on the list to download. I left this download and restart it, it froze again on 2 of 3 0% screen configuration updates, I restarted, same thing, then restarted in safe mode. He started up very well.

  Although it seems to work once I started strong each time, I know I shouldn't have these freezing problems.

  It's a Windows Update error. Perform the following steps.

  1. stop the Background Intelligent Transfer Service and the automatic updates service. To do this, follow these steps:

  b. at the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:

  2. rename the folder "Catroot2. To do this, follow these steps:

  Type the following commands and press ENTER after each command.

  net stop cryptsvc
  Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 oldcatroot2
  net start cryptsvc
   
  3 Rename the folder "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution":

  Type the following command and press ENTER.

  Ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

  4. save the files used by Windows Update and Microsoft Update. To do this, follow these steps:
