windows Vista HP laserjet IIIp premium edition error printing

I have a HP laserjet IIIP printer and use windows Vista premium edition.  I used to be able to print fine, then one day could not.  I can print a test page for the printer, but I get an "error" in the Print Manager on the docs, I try to print from the PC.  I tried to restart, unplug, check for bad drivers, checked all cables, etc.  Any ideas?

Hello

Please uninstall the printer driver from the Device Manager and the Add/Remove programs. After this try to install it again.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/283658

LaserJet IIIP drivers are available through Windows Update.  Go to start, devices and printers, adding a printer, select the appropriate port, and then click Windows Update.  After a few minutes, the list will repopulate, then select HP (Hewlett-Packard not) and select the appropriate driver.  Note that you need a suitable driver for your cable USB / parallel.

Let me know if the above information is useful

It seems that I need permission to do this.

To give the control is a two-step process. Take ownership and then to give permissions.

Owner of a file allows the owner to change permissions even if they do not have the authorization to do so. It's the only thing that made property. The person who creates an object owns the object. For admins, the objects that are created are the property of administrators, not the individual.

  • Number of Windows Vista issues - updates of device driver error messages from host and error 0xC004D401 process.

I have a number of questions at the moment and wonder if they are related between them and how to fix each one.

    1. I have sometimes received error: 0xC004D401 "an unauthorized change was made to windows" that force restart the laptop, then the same error comes up and force reboots and this loop until I force shutdown.
    2. I constantly get the message "host process for Services Windows has stopped working and was closed... ».
3 - My Device Manager displays many symbols yellow exclamation point of 'error' of the brand that are appearing next to "Network adapters", Microsoft 6to4 adapt #13; Map Microsoft 6to4 #14; Map Microsoft 6to4 #3; Map Microsoft ISATAP #13; Microsoft ISATAP # 17 and card Microsoft ISATAP #18. I tried to "Update" of these device managers and looking for changes, but he keeps saying that everything is up to date...
It's really frustrating because it affects my internet connection (wireless usb modem) and also the proper functioning of my laptop. At this point I could not even access my photo albums and document records they were no where!. My laptop is an Hp and everything just 2 years now and runs on Windows Vista.

This type of error is often related to incompatible software. If this happened recently, you could try a system restore to an earlier time. Vista is up-to-date service pack?

    System Restore:

Start > type 'restore' > search for system restore and choose a date. You can also check the programmes concerned.

    ·        You did changes to the computer recently before the issue started?

    ·        If your computer came pre-installed with Windows Vista, or you don't have it installed separately?

You receive this error 0xC004E003 when the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed on your computer. • Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating systems disks

I bought my laptop with Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium installed on it.  I've since upgraded to Windows 7.  Unfortunately, there are a few programs that will not work under Windows 7 little matter what I do.

So, I would try to run a virtual Windows Vista system.  The problem is that I can't find my disk with the operating system of Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium on it.

Download the Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium operating system so that I can burn a disc for a back-up or I can order a drive with the OS on it?

    Thank you!

You can not upgrade to Windows 7, and then use the Vista OS you used as part of the upgrade to install another (even virtual).

There is no Vista free download legal available.

And Microsoft provide no DVD for computers of the brand OEM (Dell, HP, etc).

Borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

  • Windows (Vista) Impossible to check updates, 80244004 error code

My system shows status bar that updating windows icon with the message "Windows cannot check for updates. When I run the update of windows is gives the error code 80244004.

In the last weeks, I tried several times to solve this problem, but in vain. I don't know how many suggestions I've tried, but here's a list of some of them:
    -Cleanboot,
-Fix for windows KB947821 (update tool system),
    -Microsoftfixit.wu.LB139301626980876022.3.1.run.exe,
    -Microsoftfixit.wu.MATSKB.run.exe,
    -System File Checker,

There is a bit of history for my laptop which can be substantial. The last three years, that my cell phone was in the closet due to a graphics card problem. Recently someone has managed to solve this problem and I might start again using my laptop. At first, I tried to make updates, but ran into the problem that the clock of the computers was completely obsolete. After resetting the clock to the time I was able to do some updates (don't remember those who however), but it just shows how much time the laptop was not in use.
I first noticed the windows update problem when I saw the windows Defender Update icon in the system tray. I managed to solve that with a manual installation method. But I was not able to solve the problem of Windows Update.

Windows Update displays "check more recent updates 14/09/2010" and below that it shows "updates have been installed 13/08/2013.

According to the "history of the updated" the following updates have been installed since my laptop worked again:
-Microsoft .NET framework client profile 4 for windows vista x 86 KB982670, date of installation 08/13/2013.
-Update for windows KB928439, date installed 25/08/2013,
-Multiple copies of the fix for windows KB947821 (analysis of system update tool).

It was the last before update:
-Update for windows defender KB915597 (definition 1.89.1145.0), date 09/07/2010 installation.

I am running windows Vista Edition Home Premium x 86 SP2 on a laptop Acer Aspire 9303.
In some database posts I've read on an anti-virus program ESET causing problems, but I do not run it. I have Malwarebytes, SUPERantispyware, CCleaner, Spybot and TDSSKiller.

Can someone suggest a method step by step to solve my problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Roland

    Hello

    (1) what is the exact\complete error message you get?
    (2) remember to make changes to the computer before the question?

See the methods mentioned below and check if that helps.
    Method 1:
Cannot install updates in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    Method 2:
How to troubleshoot Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 service pack installation issues
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Note: You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall is enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

    Method 3:
The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working
