Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit goes to a black screen after login. Completely insensitive.

I seem to have a problem similar but different enough to justify a new thread. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, and after the connection, I get a black screen with a cursor that can move normally. However, it becomes more complicated as everyone else. Absolutely NO work of access keys at this point, ctrl-shift-esc, ctrl-alt-delete, windows-r, don't SHIFT five times, NOTHING that other threads have suggested. I can't do anything but restart the computer once it reaches that point.

This is where it gets weird. Regular Safe Mode actually works for me, but is not the Mode safe mode with networking. There has been absolutely no sign of difficulty with this computer before that. I already have Malwarebyte Anti-Malware, it has been updated yesterday. I checked for ntndis in the registry, nothing. I uninstalled my video drivers, now, I have to reinstall because it wasn't the problem. System Restore was only a restore point on March 1, which did nothing even though the computer was working fine, March 1. I do not have the Windows disc, I split the cost with a friend who's in Arizona that I know, and he has probably lost the drive now.

Please help, my office is useless like this. I'm on a laptop, and I have a 512 MB USB key, if something needs to be downloaded on the desktop.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit right now and I want to upgrade to Windows 7, but installation is NOT going through perhaps because of the virtual disk service.

How to START the virtual disk service? Everytime I try through services, I get an error 3: the system cannot find the path specified.

Please tell me HOW to start the virtual disk service. and please do NOT move this thread on the forum windows 7, I posted in the front Vista section and moved to the region of Win 7, where my problem has not been resolved. Please leave it in this section. Thank you.

Ok. The file is in the right place. The registry is missing the path to
the file. Wonder how that happens - sigh?

Type Regedit in the search box of the start menu.

    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\vds

Right-click on an empty area in the right pane - choose new - extensible
String value. Name ImagePath (F2 key renames it). Double-click
    ImagePath and assign
    %SystemRoot%\System32\vds.exe

Now you can start the service?

  • 26 of Firefox crashes out of Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

No matter if I click on the red X, go to file-> exit or press Alt + F4 to exit Firefox under Windows Vista Ultimate 32 - bit. It almost always produces an error message that Firefox has stopped working.

I can't find how to post a JPEG Screenshot of the error here.

This will not occur under Windows XP Pro.

Otherwise, the browser works fine in a BONE.

Those are the two reports of the crash on Adobe Flash Player.

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • Disable protected mode in the plugin Flash (Flash 11.3 + on Windows Vista and later versions)
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • Satellite A200 (PSAE6) crashes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit

    Hello

I recently had a few frequent freezes on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition, I think it's maybe the video card (ATI HD2600 mobility). I have already downloaded and installed the latest drivers from the Toshiba site, but it continues to, sometimes, when I'm playing games, the screen blinks for 5 seconds or more and then would become black, completely erased, but the background sound and everything still works well and I am able to shut down the PC by pressing the power button once and then restart it normally.

It's a minor problem, the major problem is the freezing point, it freezes completely without warning, but oddly enough, he freeze by practicing a game! But freezes on normal operations (internet, office, etc.). I did the tests, tests of HARD drive memory, all in good health, and worse, on the Windows Event Viewer could not detect any problem, simply says 'unexpected system shutdown.

    I'd appreciate help please.

    Thank you

Hi I do not know if this will help, but you've got service pack 1 installed on your laptop, as when I installed it on my desktop the first time it caused blue screen errors and gave me a lot of problems, including the error messages that seemed to come with applications, I opened and a boring IQRL driver equal or less than but could not work why and then ultimately , I had so many problems that I had to completely reformat my office and I removed my scanner XP and webcam (both had vista drivers) and when I reinstalled service pack 1, it was beautiful, if by any chance do you have anything attached to your XP laptop and vista drivers as these seemed to be what was causing my errors.

Also a question about your graphic card drivers, I have the same laptop as you and was looking for updates to the graphics driver and couldn't find them anywhere on the site, where did you find yours? I use Vista Home Premium 32 bit, my model number is A200-28 p (PSAE6) and I would like to know if there is a new graphics card driver but can not find on the basis of knowledge, so the fact you have updated your would be could you point a new user in the right direction :-)

    Thank you

    Hello

    Microsoft sells more than Vista.

You will have to take a chance and buy a DVD / a license on Amazon, eBay, etc.

Be careful when you run the risk of buying pirated software.

    Hi Jarska,

    ·        You did changes to the computer recently before the issue started?

    ·        If your computer came pre-installed with Windows Vista, or you don't have it installed separately?

You receive this error 0xC004E003 when the Software Licensing Service reported that license evaluation failed on your computer. You can access the link below and follow the steps in method C and check if that helps you solve the problem of activation. If the C method does not work, you can follow the steps in method G and try activation using the automated phone system.

  • Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit will not be in service

Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit will not be in service.

I read the other posts and have followed the suggestions. Windows does not start without failure, or any other option in the F8 boot options. Next step is to create a disk to repair windows, Dell did not provide a when the computer was purchased. Can work from any vista repair disc, or I need to find one suitable for my windows edition? Where are these on the Microsoft Web site?

    Thank you!

Thanks for the help. Sorry for the vague information. I was finally able to diagnose memory problems. I have reset the chip memory and repaired the computer by using the option "repair your computer" F8.

Once again, thank you for the help.

I have Windows vista Ultimate edition. but he started asking for activation after the windows update while it has already been activated before the update.

    Hello, Pichon,

If Windows Vista application unexpected activation

On rare occasions, you may be prompted to activate Windows Vista on a computer that did not previously require Windows Vista activation or has already been activated successfully. For example, this may occur on a computer on which Windows Vista was preinstalled by an OEM installation or Volume licensing and are major hardware changes occurred, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time.

If you are prompted to reactivate Windows Vista, you can do this by using the Windows Activation Wizard to:

    1. Click Start, and then click computer.
    2. Click System Properties on the toolbar, and then click click here to activate Windows now in the Windows activation area. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click continue.
    3. Select the Windows Vista activation method that you want, and then follow the instructions.

To avoid this problem in the future, obtain the latest service pack for your version of Windows Vista, either through automatic updates or direct download.

To update to Windows Vista and prevent this activation problem does not happen:

    1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update.
    2. Click find updates.
    3. As soon as Windows Vista found the updates, click the install updates button.

    Any ideas anyone please?

Amazing!  I have already mentioned that I lived the problem of the "feature Windows empty window.  Seeing that my initially reported problem and seemed to have similar signs and given that I had a clear explanation on how to solve this problem, I did it - and these two problems are now history.

In the two following links, you will find the description and method to solve the problem of the 'empty Windows feature window' and (b) a method for appropriating errant registry entries.

    http://www.Raymond.CC/blog/fix-blank-or-empty-list-in-Vista-turn-Windows-features-on-or-off-optionalfeaturesexe/

    http://www.Raymond.CC/blog/full-control-permission-to-delete-or-edit-restricted-Windows-registry/

This * may * solve your problem too - it seems that there is a generic problem with determination rather poor problem feedback.

Good luck and thanks to all who contributed

  • Windows vista ultimate 32 bit OEM

I am wanting to install vista ultimate 32 bit OEM on my pc that I screwed up the download of Windows 7 beta. I come to the world of pc to buy and they told me that I have to take my pc to them for them to install it for a fee. They told me everything you get in the box is a key code and no disc. Could someone tell me if this is correct?

    Concerning

    Seansnr

    Hi Seansnr,

First of all, if you buy a copy of Windows Vista OEM, make sure that the DVD is the company that allows a computer.  An OEM Dell DVD won't work on a HP or gateway and vice versa.

Personally, if I had to buy it I insist on a DVD and not from someone who says they can install for a fee, and then provide would not buy any media where you will need to re - install in the future.

You could also buy a copy of the sale at retail of Windows Vista, or order an OEM DVD from the manufacturer of your computer.  They can also provide one for a low cost, if it wasn't origionally came with the computer.

If you are interested in a copy retail, they may be ordered and even downloaded directly from Microsoft.

  • Satellite A100 system goes to a black screen after the recovery procedure

I tried running the recovery CD, I received on my cell phone. the process perfectly, (I have only one CD, I don't know if I need a second). At the end of the process, I have the option to insert the second CD, or jump.
Because I don't have that one CD I have support on ignore.

I tells me that the installation is complete and I can restart my system.
Then I removed the disk and I tried to reboot the system. The system goes to a black screen (on which he indicates that Microsoft load) and then crashes. That was the problem I was facing before recovery.

Basically, the recovery process has not worked. I don't think I did something very wrong, unless I need a second CD. What could be the problem?

    Help me please!

    Hello

The A100 is one of the new series of laptops and AFAIK the image of Toshiba was placed only on a CD (DVD) recovery.
I think that the message and the possibility to insert the second CDconfuses a little.

In my opinion the black screen and freeze has nothing to do with the recovery procedure and the new installation if Windows OS.
Due to the fact that this problem has occurred until you have installed the OS from the recovery CD, I assume that there must be something wrong with the hardware.

But it s very interesting to know if the same problem appears after the new installation of Windows from the original CD of Microsoft.

    It's worth a try.

  • Windows Update: 1 or several updates made a black screen after restart

So I have this problem for like 3-4 months ago... You all a long history, he gets to that: an update of specefic is originally that when I restart, the computer still works, but the screen is all black. Not even a light down there!
    Someone knows this problem?
The update that I am sure that all this is cause:
KB929729 (a security update for Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1 SP 1) - I think this is the one, but could be one of these schools:
KB957000 KB952714, KB929735 - all these are just regular updates for vista x 64-vista systems

I have the laptop to fix where I bought it. They said that the problem has been resolved, but it didn't. Well, the computer worked as if after I came, but after a Windows Installer update, the system crashed again with black screen.
Fortunately, I was able to use an ERD to do a system restore to before installing the update.

    MY LAPTOP SPEC. :
Windows Vista, home Edt. (SP1 has not been installed now, but had SP1 when the 1st problem started)
Processor Intel Core Duo CPU 2.4 GHz
    4 GB of Ram
    NVIDIA Geforce 9650 GT

OK, I'm pretty sure it's KB929729 (a security update for Microsoft .NET Framework, version 1.1 SP 1)
She is marked as an important update, hope that I can live without it?
