  • Install Windows 8 automatically formats the hard drive? If this isn't the case, I should format it FAT or NTFS drive before installing Win/8?

Install Windows 8 automatically formats the hard drive?  If this isn't the case, I should format it FAT or NTFS drive before installing Win/8?

No, this isn't format the hard drive, what's done is put your existing version of Windows in a folder called "windows.old", it indeed erases old files of version and folders, leaving free space on the existing partition "NTFS" (formerly ocupied by your previous version of windows) in which is installed Windows 8.

And "NTFS" is the only file system that supports Windows 8.

Kb3087916 Windows Update [August] installs the DEBUG version of the Flash ActiveX in IE11 on 8.1 Windows systems (32 bit).  This version generates ActionScript errors.

It may (or may not) do under other configurations (e.g. 64-bit?  Windows 10?) -I don't know.

Uninstallation of the update is NOT the solution: Tit Windows Update itself must be fixed!

  • How to configure Windows 7 to automatically install the drivers, mine is set to never install drivers.

Ineed to install an audio driver, when I go to do this, I get a message that says my computer / Win 7 is configured to never install drivers. How to change that?

You don't want to automatically install drivers from Windows Update or another source.

If you want to update the drivers, do it manually and get them directly from the device manufacturer websites.

  • Black screen with cursor when connecting Windows 7. Reinstall the drivers doesn't help not.

I have a Windows 7 Pro machine that boots to a black screen with a cursor instead of the login prompt, but if I press some keys like enter and tab that I will get a few blue squares where probably windows are appearing.

I can boot into safe mode and log in. I can then disable or uninstall the video card and the boot into normal windows. But if I install the Intel to the HD3000 integrated video drivers, the black screen will be there waiting for me when I reboot.

I tried with and without external monitors connected.

I tried to uninstall the drivers in the menu programs and features (also selection to completely remove the drivers), and I uninstalled them through Device Manager. I then reboot before installing the Intel drivers again. I tried the version on the site Web of Panasonic, as well as the latest version of the Intel Web site. Results have been the same every time.

Are there left behind somewhere that I could try to remove registry keys? Perhaps a more thorough removal method? Something more creative? All ideas welcome!

System Restore will not be an option because he has never been in a working state. Startup Repair was not an option due to disk full corporate encryption that seems to make the unreadable disk at this time here. I tried but it fails and I can't find the drivers to be used in the environment of recovery for this BeCrypt Disk Encryption.

    Hi Brian,.

According to the information that you, as you can start your computer in safe mode without problem, then the problem is probably with the supplied driver. Since the installation of the driver is causing the problem to occur, one possible cause is a driver you want to install is not compatible with the system. We suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your computer for help on installing the correct driver for your PC.

    Kind regards.

  • When you open a new window, it automatically loads the last content pop up (?) and I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in the new window.

I don't know if they are technically pop-up windows (for example, if you perform a search on kayak.com, it will automatically open a new window of priceline.com with the search results), but that happens with Blocker on or off. Other examples are a little info to a financial site window or .edu, which opens a session is about to expire, or answer a FAQ (with the exception of the priceline example, these windows have an address bar or view a URL). In any case, once these windows are closed, if I try to open a new window, it will automatically load the content of this "pop-up". Whenever he does, I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in this window.

How can I fix it? What I want is to open a new window which is empty, not load the previous contents.

No, I just realized that I was holding Command-Shift-N rather than command-N

  • How change windows and not lose the drivers and programs?

Hey guys want to just ask,

I acres, I bought it with windows 7 Home premium installed but I bought windows 7 ultimate and I want to change the windows, but the only thing that I'm worried about is when I format the HHD of re - install windows ill lose programs Acre, how can I keep after I re - install windows?

Is it possible that I can get a copy on USB or something?

    Thank you

Your laptop must have a backup or restore utility to create the restore disks - in general, the options are to create a set of disks that are going to do a full factory restore and a disc is just the drivers and the software.

Click on the start menu, then all programs and see if there is an Acer folder that contains this utility.  If she is not there, your next option would be to go here, look to the top of your system, and then click tab to download the manual and see if there are instructions for creating a backup.

  • Windows Vista automatically locks the computer.

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505 with Windows Vista business with service pack 2 installed and kept up-to-date. I noticed that, after a few minutes of inactivity on my computer, Windows locks automatically the computer. By that I mean it will act as if I had pressed the "lock" button and return to the sign in the display. I am running Norton 360 antivirus program and have in the past to run Mcafee. Does anyone know why the event occurred, or particularly how to solve this problem, because it has become more than a nuisance.

  • Windows 7 update installs the graphic driver badly.

I have a Dell Optiplex desktop with a graphics chipset from Intel 4.  When windows performs an update, it replaces the last reference dell with (8.15.10.2869) driver that does not support the native resolution (1680 x 1050) of the monitor (Dell P2210).  I need to remove the driver and replace it with the dell driver.  What is strange, is that the dell driver is the same as that installed by the update from microsoft.  It's just that the option 1680 x 1050 does not appear in the version of microsoft.  I tried to disable the update, but microsoft is so vague in his descriptions of his updates I had a hard time finding change makes the graphics driver.  I'm tempted to turn off updates all together.  Any suggestions?

When an update is displayed on the Windows Update page, in the right hand pane is "more information." Click on that and it will give you a pretty good indication of what the update is on. If it has something to do with the graphics, I hide the update and stick with the pilot of the manufacture.  I hope that helps you understand your problem.
