Windows XP crashes whenever I click on shutdown?

Windows XP stops responding whenever I click on stop, and I do a forced shutdown. If I open the Task Manager and terminate the "explorer.exe" process and run it again windows become sensitive, but when I try to click on stop again, it stops responding and it continues. Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Yes, we can seize ProcMon to stop. And you are right that if we run ProcMon under System account in XP then it will run longer.

the syntax will be:
PsExec-s-d the AcceptEula /BackingFile C:\Procmon.pml Path_for_Sysinternal_Suit/Procmon.exe/quiet

And the following command line will stop this trace:

PsExec s d Procmon.exe /AcceptEula / cancel

Click right problems are very often caused by third-party programs adding entries in the context menu.  Here is a program that can help you manage these inscriptions: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html.  Here, another article written for XP, but it applies to Vista that may be useful: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/context_folders.htm.

  • File Explorer Windows 8 crashes whenever I do a right click on the USB key.

File Explorer Windows 8 crashes every time I do a right click on installed - everything - USB or flash key and try to choose options, such as format, rename them or properties.  Windows Explorer crashes, closed its doors, and I'm sent back to the Start Page.  This happens with any USB key, on one of the ports on my computer, which I have at least 10.

I can left click on USB in the file Explorer, and held one still able to open or interact with any file in the USB. I can save to the USB port of any other program, and I can usually eject it in the taskbar. The only problem is I can't do a right click on the USB key and select a function without kicks back to the start page and the file Explorer is restarted.

My version of Windows 8 is an upgrade to Windows 7.  I have already tried a restart secure, and even in this State, the accident continues.

I had the same problem with any flash/stick/key USB on my system (64-bit) Windows 8 Pro. I started out of the blue, had not installed a new software or updates. I couid do a right-click on the drive and get the menu, but any action in the menu I chose stop and restart Windows Explorer (without any error message.) I also tried the cleanboot approach with no luck.

The solution that worked was to move the mouse to the bottom left of the screen and right click.
    Select prompt (Admin)
    in the cmd window, type:
    sfc/scannow
    and press ENTER.
After about 15 minutes (about 4 minutes to check and then a little more than 11 minutes waiting while he was working in the background - but it seemed frozen. My system is an i7, 16 GB of Ram, 512 GB SSD drive - so your time may vary), I received a message that some corrupt files had been repaired and some had not. The newspaper was in a txt file in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS if the log file was inaccessible. I got a popup access denied .
I rebooted the system and everything was fine and the problem of USB has been fixed.

  • Windows Mail stop whenever I click on a particular message

I have an email that does not have a virus in my Inbox, and whenever I click on the message it causes Windows Mail to close. I was able to receive the message in Outlook without any problem.

Windows Mail can open other emails?  If so, delete and lose the questionable E-mail as you saved it elsewhere.  You can try to delete mode safe if you are unable to do it in Normal Mode.

Some other suggestions are mentioned in this thread, the simplest being to define Windows Mail on Offline (file / work offline) and then try to remove.

Windows Mail blocks when you try to open 1 email. Cannot delete since crashes when I have the email matches.

  • After the update of Windows XP, now whenever I click on a file, I get a message 'open file-security warning '.

As a result of updated Microsoft's XP, whenever I click on a file, a. JPG file, for example, a window opens and says: "Open file security warning", it gives me the ability to open or close. To the bottow of this little window is a box that is enabled by default. It is said: "always like before opening this file". I uncheck because I want to disable this warning for all files with this extension. What a pain. I tried to go to file Options in the control panel. I said that files with the. JPG extension is expected to be opened by a VuePrint. But it says something that's basically nonesense: "to change all settings that affect all VuePrint files, click Advanced. When I click on advanced, another window opens (of course)... and the options are "Open" and a few others and 'Options', which I click Set Default. But this never works. Whenever I click on another. We must launch SFC (System File Checker).

  • Firefox crashes whenever I click on options in tools or customize

Had to reinstall Firefox after downloading a faster option "make Firefox" appeared Mozilla as it completely crashed my internet access. Message kept saying I needed a proxy server address as Firefox connects through a proxy server. Finally had to resort to ATT me reconnected as update had changed my settings of local network search: all checked.
Now, if I try to download an add-on on it says is installed, it is not - 41 Add acceptable on - and if I click on tools > Firefox plant wi/no crash report options window appears. need to click the icon. Ditto options menu. And will not accept, click on options in Customizing, a hand appears and zero happens.
Do not have ability to set my preferences, of course. None of these options from the sidebar appears more. I don't have any ad blocking valer'evne after downloading and not running the ad for 41 block.
    Firefox also crashes repeatedly.
Have you tried to reboot in Safe Mode, no difference.
I use XP and that many others have no interest in changing to 7 or 8 so that portable continues to operate.

Your user agent shows you are running Firefox in compatibility mode for Windows 98 (NT 4.10).

Check that you are not Firefox running in compatibility mode.
You can open the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut via the context menu and check under the tab "compatibility".
Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

  • Windows explore crashes on right-click

Whenever I do a right click on a file in Windows Explorer, I get a message that Windows Explorer has stopped working and then it shut downto the office.  I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on a gateway GT5228. It has 2 GB of ram and unused 140 GB hard disk.  I've been running Vista for about a year and the problem just started a week ago.  I hope someone has a suggestion because at the moment I can't delete or rename anything.  I ran a software antivirus and anti spyware and found nothing.  Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi ranma100,

Right-click accidents are caused by third-party shell extensions. You can use the excellent ShellExView to isolate the problem. Hello

Use the other methods in the previous troublesshooters I posted as the tcpmon.ini
error is not the cause of the gel.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Departure - in the search box, type-> order

at the top of the list to find COMMAND - CLICK RIGHT to it - RUN AS ADMIN

Type the following commands (or copy and paste one at a time), each followed by pressing on enter.

    ipconfig/flushdns

    nbtstat-r

    nbtstat - RR

    netsh int Reinitialis

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh winsock reset

    RESET

    That resets your TCP/IP stack
    ----------------------------------

    Also update your drivers:

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on
your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed:
load address of the driver, description, version, product name, who created the company
    the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit system Maker as replacements and manufacturer device which are the
most up-to-date. Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - write it down
and complete the model tab of the driver for your video - double-click - card write
to the bottom of the version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this can do nothing as MS is
far behind certification pilot) - then right-click - Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh
    the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if
3rd party with their own software and drivers and the other main device drivers you
    a.

Now, go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and
then device Maker (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) of the site and get the latest news
versions. (Search for updates to the BIOS, Chipset and software on the site of the manufacturer of the system while)
    it.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT
    After each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you install
actually arises. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed
(particularly that audio drivers) so install a driver - reboot - check is to be sure
    installed and repeat if necessary.

Repeat BTW to the manufacturers - manufacturers of devices DO WORK DO NOT THEIR SCANNER-
    manually check by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
