Windows XP pro on Emachine D4362 has 4 Ram slots but don't record it 3.5 GB as aiinstalle

He recorded 1.5 GB on the installed 3.5 GB of PC3200 DDR 400 mhz. In the past, before the upgrade, he showed the 1.75 GB that was installed.

How did you Go 3.5, 4 slots?  (In other words, what is in each slot?)

Also, I guess because you say that your computer has 4 slots for RAM, you should have actually looked inside the case... but this Crucial page says that the eMachines D4362 has only 2 slots that take a max of 1 GB each for a total maximum of 2 GB.  Where did you find the information that indicates that your computer can have up to 4 GB installed?  A link would be much appreciated.

In Googling my question above, I came across this thread which claims that the D4362 has 4 slots and can take up to 4 GB, based on the specifications of the motherboard.  But this raises the question: where is the specification of eMachine that identifies the motherboard?

Without more information, I'm inclined to go with the conclusion of the last message in this thread in the RAM Corsair support forums: "Unfortunately, it seems that if you have the memory that is not compatible with your motherboard.»

  • Retrieve the product key Windows 7 Pro when the laptop has been restored to Windows Vista

My laptop fujitsu has been sent for repair; the technician has restored the settings to factory default which wiped out the Professional Windows 7 operating system. My laptop has been improved by Windows Vista Edition Fujitsu Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional during a previous repair. How one don't get the product key for Windows 7 Professional in this case? Should I inform Microsoft of my laptop series No. to recover the product key of Windows 7 Professional? If so, then how do then? Thank you very much for your quick response.

If the machine has been 'improved' during a repair - then they must have attached the relevant sticker of COA or PoL card to the machine.

If they don't, and you do not specifically for the upgrade, then it has never been a valid upgrade.

You will need to get both if you want to reinstall Windows on your computer.  The key is in your Windows system, if it can be started and run, by using a utility such as Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder.  With respect to the disk, your computer manufacturer may be able to provide one for you.

I thought that Windows 7 32-bit(Ultimate version) fixed limit of RAM.  I have 6 GB installed, he sees that the 6 but he says only 2.99 is usable. I have to go to 64-bit?

Yes, you must go to 64-bit to use all the RAM.

32-bit may signal the presence of all the 6 GB but only treaty that 4 GB and part of that 4 GB is used for material - mainly the video memory and BIOS device.

    As the owner of a Toshiba Satellite P875 - 31 p

I have 8 Windows pre-installed, but guess that's the Standard edition and ask whether it is possible to upgrade to Windows 8 pro.

Someone has had experience of this updgade?

How can I find out which version of the Windows 8 operating system is installed?
What product of Microsort should I upgrade.
Can I buy a new Windows 8 Pro OEM license?
Where to buy an upgrade of my existing (from Toshiba?) operating system

Is an upgrade to widows 8 recommended Pro?

    Hello

According to the info I found on the page of Toshiba, the laptop is preinstalled with common system of 64-bit Windows 8.

If you want to upgrade this Windows 8 Pro version, you can buy the upgrade of Microsoft.

But the question is if these updates would be really necessary for you...
I dunno... This page and take a look at the details provided by Microsoft Windows 8 Pro

You can see what are the benefits of the windows 8 Pro version would provide.
Usually there is no big difference between Windows 8 and the Pro version.

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: Windows 7 Pro

I have the HP laptop mentioned above which was given to our non profit by a company.  They have wiped the hard drive.  A label on the bottom shows that it is allowed for Windows 7 Pro.  Someone else has started to establish this laptop and installed a copy of browser Windows 10 eval and 11 of Internet Explorer.

I need to get rid of what is on the laptop and reinstall the licensed copy of Windows 7 Pro and Internet Explorer so that I can install THEN QuickBooks via download.  I don't want to do anything other than Windows 7 Pro, which is supported by Intuit QuickBooks.

Because HP doesn't seem to answer the phone to let me know how to get a downloadable version of Windows 7 Pro, I'm looking for help on how to do it.

There is nothing that I need to keep on this laptop.  It has an Ethernet jack/cable connection.  I was not able to activate the Wifi in Windows 10 but I will deal with it once I get the Windows 7 installed.

I don't know how I will get the laptop on the Internet if I download Windows 7, which I suppose will scan the Internet Explorer 11.  Advice?  Thank you very much!

    You are the very welcome.

No PC manufacturer not providing operating system downloads.

It's because Microsoft does not allow for downloads of their systems to use OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer), only retail ones.

The only way for the OEM (in this case, HP) can provide operating system OEM media recovery is to offer support physical for sale (or if the PC is under warranty, sometimes free of charge).

This is why when you have entered the product key in this Microsoft Web site, it would not allow to download the ISO retail operating system file and reported the message you got.

When you call HP and order the disks, you will get a simple OS from W7 Professional with a HP label on it.

I have such a set for the 6930p/8440p, and I know exactly what to expect.

You will have the possibility to order W7 Pro 32 or 64-bit.  I guess you can ask for both.  I have never. I wanted to just the recovery of 64-bit set.

There is absolutely no other software on the drive of W7 Pro recovery.

The other disc you will receive contains software and applicable drivers for the 8440p.

You don't have to even not to enter the product key, because the copy of Windows 7 OEM, you receive "know" that it is installed on a qualifying device.

You will lose any use of the current operating system W10 there after the installation of W7.

After installing W7 and upgrade to SP1, you can then download and install IE11 for Windows 7.

Here is the direct download link to IE11.  You will only be able to see the download if you do not currently have installed IE11.

  • Windows 7 Pro EFS and access denied

    Hi all

I use Windows 7 Pro & recently my motherboard has not completely!

Before that, the only indications of a problem seemed to be errors of IO, but Seagate tools etc etc says it all, it was

Well! After some troubleshooting I replaced the SATA cable and everything seemed OK!

So, I supported manually backed up 99% of my files on external drive 'My book' and others on my LAN drive!

Also, I decided to install a new drive HARD Seagate 2 TB and used Macrium reflect to CLONE the OLD drive (C :) for her!

When the motherboard is not / could not access drive etc etc, I have assumed that the drive had failed and decided to make a recovery - Norton Ghost recovered the system OP OK, BUT I wanted THEN RE-BOOT and the system could not do

who... The MB has finally made the soul!

Now that I have replaced the motherboard and I added a SSD Evo 850 and installed Win 7 Pro, I have re-installed the software, we come NOW to the crux of the matter!

Under the former regime in my library of Documents I had an EFS encrypted file, well call him 'MyPvtStuff '.

The NEW system, I have set up libraries develop NEW Seagate HDD and copied all libraries from the old to the NEW. On the audit of all the folders & files copied to the NEW libraries very well.

I use a program called "BEYOND COMPARE [BC]" (CheckIt Out... NOT a gift, but a must-have tool) to confirm everything was OK and deleted the OLD files EXCEPT THE DOCUMENT ROOT directory.

The access to the NEW "MyPvtStuff", I found the files still encrypted, BUT HAD 'ACCESS DENIED' and should have permissions to use them! Also, when I tried to DECRYPT!

I tried the permissions and repossess and import certificates etc. etc. etc. ALL WITHOUT SUCCESS!

After investigating the same problem on the web and try some tools copy etc, I found useful information "If you copy a file or folder across a network, the file/folder is DECRYPTED and then copied everywhere".

So I was Lucky (good luck, no management) that I had copied the OLD "MyPvtStuff" and able to recover a number of file. Unfortunately, I had NOT backed up the most recent file.

I have resorted to the "My Book" drive and found that the backup was also encrypted AND of coarse the really important the (year-end) etc. etc. are the one I need!

I decided to start from the old drive cloned in the hope that I might be able to recover the files of encryption/diploma (you guessed it, I backup the encryption key/powers), it has Boot Ok BUT Windows wouldn't start, not really a surprise!

Essentially, if I can locate the file encryption (whatever it is? and import to my system of work, I should be able to decrypt the files I NEED and what you need is an understatement!)

Unfortunately, a lot of links referring to the technical support from Microsoft for Windows 7 are WITHOUT available and making it very difficult to get the information I need! If anyone has the s on which folder / files that I need to find so I can at least import the certificates that I'd LOVE to hear from you!

Some additional info, I have the installer of the new system with the same user name and account profile, password etc.

In safe mode does not help at all!

    Thank you very much

Usually, I found that this happens when installing .NET updates - if you give the machine 20 or so minutes to regroup and then restart, the problem disappears usually.
