Windows xp will not let me Delete window .old

Well, I went back to windows xp because Windows 7 is just a mistake and a waste of money...
When I want to delete my window.old * the file is not called window.old its window xp, one called WINDOW.0)

I have never a clean install because my portable hard drive broke... so I had to make the long and old fashion way...
I recover my files but when I go to disk cleanup it says the old file window 7 is 3.35 GB what is 15,45 gb

but I carried on, but when its like 3 minutes in cleaning it goes without reason... * I tried this about 1 million times *.

If I right click on the file that has windows 7 junk...
Tap on delete, and then press Yes

It immediately says access denied... This blah blah to file you can remove

How can I fix!

"How to get help from volunteers on a Microsoft forum" is not the title of any book you write, huh?

I'm not real - you inthat definitively described - but if you're running Windows XP and get access denied to a file/folder - it's an easy thing to fix.  They even wrote an Article in the Knowledge Base on this subject...

How to capture a file or a folder in Windows XP

Reading * carefully *-not just browse the page and start following the steps.

There is important information it dependent on the version of Windows XP

Also - can clarify you that, means «I never have a clean install because my portable hard drive broke... so I had to make the long and old fashion way...» » ?  A clean installation * is * the mode long and ancient way.  :-)

    Outlook Express will not let me delete all messages?  How can I fix?  Thank you!

    You have corruption of dbx files.

    Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and move the messages you want to record off deleted items, and sent items. Locate the OE message store and then close OE.

    Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

    In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

    With OE closed, find the Deleted Items.dbx and Sent Items.dbx files and delete them. New files will be created automatically when you open OE.

    Compact all folders as described below.

    To avoid this in the future:

    Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

    Information on the maximum size of the .dbx files that are used by Outlook Express:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?kbid=903095

    After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

    Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

    I have adobe Premiere elements 13. It will not let me delete audio or do fade in or out. I can click on fade in and fade out and the yellow line that chart volume takes a strong recovery or dip at the beginning or at the end of the clip, but there is no change in volume when I play back. What I am doing wrong?

    Thanks for the follow-up report.

    Just a lit bulb. Maybe the answer, maybe a spleen.

    Look carefully at the audio track of the timeline in the vicinity of title of the file.

    The title of your file audio timeline shows: level of Volume or something else. If something else, click the tiny triangle where

    the red arrow in the screen shot is sharp and select the Volume and then level so that you end up with

    Volume: level as shown in the screenshot.

    Hope it's the factor involved.

  • will not let me delete Java and other programs. Say I am running Windows in safe mode?

    Can not remove some programs

    Hello

    ·        Why are you starting in safe mode?

    ·        Do you see the safemode, written on all four sides of the screen?

    If you see you're starts in safe mode so you can't uninstall programs in safe mode since the Windows service install will not work in safe mode.

    Windows service install is responsible for installing and uninstalling a program on the system.

    I suggest to start the desktop normally and then check if you are able to uninstall the program on the system.

    I bought the Speedy PC Pro & he then ran my microsoft security essentials has stopped working. When I went online to re-download it said that I had to remove what was already installed. My system won't let me delete it! Also with the Speedy PC Pro I managed to remove all of the .dll files. How can I restore them? Thank you.

    Hello

    · You receive an error message or error code when you try to uninstall the program?

    · Were there any changes made on the computer before the show?

    Run the fix it from the link: Add/Remove Programs displays installed the tool incorrectly: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266668

    Add to that, I suggest to run online virus scan and check if any malware or virus detected on the computer activity. You can run the scan for viruses online from the link below: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

  • Oulook Express 6 it has an error and will not let me delete the email

    Original title: OUTLOOK EXPRESS 6 WINDOWS XP

    There out wrong and won't let me delete the email.  He still receives new e-mail.

    no problem viewing or respond.

    Anyone know an easy solution?

    the error code:

    An unknown error has occurred. Account: name, Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, error number: 0x800C0133

    Do as I have indicated above, but instead of moving most of the messages in your Inbox, all move them and delete the Inbox.dbx file as well.

    If you move all messages from the Inbox for a reason, do the above and then come back and move messages in the Inbox and then delete the Inbox.dbx with OE closed box.

  • Time Capsule will not let me delete a corrupted file

    I have a Time Capsule, and a folder on the hard disk called "Temp". In this, there is a corrupted .wmv file that is grayed out and seems to be corrupted to an earlier copy. But when I try to remove it I get: "the operation cannot be performed because one or more required elements was not found (error code - 43).

    I tried this:

    • Restart in Safe Mode, did not work.
    • Disk utility will not find the time Capsule.
    • Taken from the decision-making time Capsule to force a check of the file system.
    • Tried sudo rm - rf in the terminal.
    • Reset the NVRAM.

    I still get the same error and it is not on a Time Capsule image, it is just a normal file. It does not hurt, just bugs the life outta me. Any suggestions on how to remove this file?

    There are a number of things you can try. IF you can see the file in the Finder, I would download a freeware called lock-UnMatic.  http://AlternativeTo.NET/software/lock-unmatic/?platform=Mac is the Mac version of look-a-like of FileAssassin, produced an excellent PC.  Linking the TC for your MacBook, at least temporarily, using Ethernet instead of wireless can be a good thing to do.

    Give it a try, then display your results.  Good luck.

  • Outlook express 6 will not let me delete emails

    I can't delete emails from my Inbox on my outlook file Express 6. I can read them and then they show that I have, however none will remove.

    [I swear to you that I had already answered in this post!]

    1. move all the messages that you want to keep out of the folders Inbox, sent items and deleted items and in other local OE folders have created you for archiving (backup) of such messages.

    2. Note the location of the store of your identity (http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm#storemain).

    2B. turn on "Show hidden folders and files" via start | Control Panel | Folder options | View (see http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial62.html).

    3. close OE.

    4. in Windows Explorer, navigate to your storage folder, find & delete the files Inbox.dbx , Outbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbxand Deleted Items.dbx.

    5 empty the trash.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    To avoid such problems in the future, comply with the following restrictions:
    N ' not use Inbox or sent items to archive messages.  Move them to local folders created for this purpose.
    -Empty the deleted items folder daily.
    -Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE while records that "work offline".  More on http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm
    -Do not cancel automatic compacting, where it would happen and do not try to close OE via Manager tasks or stop your Automatic compaction machine can take place.
    -Disable e-mail scanning in your antivirus application.  It can cause corruption (i.e., loss of messages) and offers no additional protection:
